I hear all the words that comes out of you or other English speakers... and I completely understand what the speakers are saying. My question is: I am good at listening and reading, but not at speaking and writing. I hope you do have something to say about this. Thank you for your amazing video contents!
It's really awesom for me your talent!☺I am really thankful...I know that God, the Lord, gave gifts to us and He gave you a big talent for teaching. God keep you Ann M. Thanks for your videos☺
Using "in" with "picture" is similar to using "in" with a container, because a picture can be seen as a physical space that contains objects, people, or scenery. So, we use "in" to refer to things inside the picture, just like we would use "in" with a container to refer to things inside it. On the other hand, we say "on the picture" when we are referring to something that is physically on top of the image or written on the surface of the picture. For example, "There is a signature on the picture."
Wow what an amazing lesson with so many tips and tricks, you are an incredible teacher you made it look so easy I love you so much and can't wait for another mind-blowing lesson because I'm used to these kinds of lessons from you thank you a bunch 👍❤❤😍🥰
Thank you, Anne Marie! That's really helpful. What about the bar and the bookstore? How it works with visualising a map? When you come to a bar to have a drink is it IN the bar of AT the bar? The same for a bookstore.
I watched a video years ago that said that for example If you're friend called and asked you where you are If you say you are at the hospital, it means you're visiting someone at the hospital means you're not the sick... But if you say am in the hospital it means you're the patient staying in bed.... Is it correct?.. Please explain
Thank you. 'To build on' is a common phrasal verb in English which means to use something as a basis for further development. And thank you for the lesson idea.
It also depends on whether you are talking about a political place or a geographical place. It is "in Iceland" if you mean the country, but "on Iceland" if you mean the geographical island. So, have you arrived in Iceland or on Iceland? They are both correct, but have different meanings.
Could you help me? I'm confusing about the preposition. Thanks a lot 1/" in Wall street " on "on Wall street" I found in youglish. Which is correct and why? Thanks a lot. I know that you were a commodities trader for fours years on Wall Street he never thought he would be rich on Wall Street What do they do in Wall Street? it's all in Wall Street you're in Wall Street 2/ "in the street" or "on the street" You could be someone who lives on the street. we are walking around on the street He's just a kid that they found in the street A ball in the street
Thanks for the question. To be "in Wall Street" may be a reference to a profession, not a location. Without the full context I cannot be sure. If a ball is in the street, it means it's directly in the middle of the street and could be hit by a car. Typically someone doesn't stand 'in' the street because it's dangerous. I hope this helps.
Dear Annemarie, you are awesome! Thank you for your materials and explanations! I still have a small doubt related to the next sentence: “I think she lives on the fifth floor, in Apartment 402”. My question is linked to the “IN apartment 402” part of that sentence, why not "AT the apartment 402", since it´s the more specific address (point)? Thanks for your time! Big hugs.
Thanks for the kind note and question. While 402 is the apartment number, an apartment is still something like a container or something with borders/limits. Just like a building. Even though we are giving the specific number, it's still a specific 'container' or apartment inside the building. I hope this helps.
Hi Anne Marie, it's the first time I just watched your video I wondered how easily was your explanation. I think you are the best, pleasantness teacher I ever met!!!💓💐Brava!!!
Thanks for the question. I've heard both used and for many English speakers there may be little to no difference. However, one could also use "on Excel" to describe creating the Excel program while working "in Excel" is to use the program.
This lesson is exactly what i was looking for. Thank you Ann Marie, I've been subscribed to your channel for a few months and I just wanted to tell you that I love it 🤍 ¡Gracias!

thank you, I was asked my English teacher when I study English and she answered me maybe that the Rules.
Excellent explanation, thank you!
Hi Aksana. Great to hear from you. I'm glad it was helpful. 🥰
Great lecture! How these rules apply to this example: "You look great in the picture" instead of "You look great on the picture"?
Using "in" with "picture" is similar to using "in" with a container, because a picture can be seen as a physical space that contains objects, people, or scenery. So, we use "in" to refer to things inside the picture, just like we would use "in" with a container to refer to things inside it.

Thank you, Anne Marie! That's really helpful. What about the bar and the bookstore? How it works with visualising a map? When you come to a bar to have a drink is it IN the bar of AT the bar? The same for a bookstore.

You’re the best !! Thank you for help me
Thank you 💞
Good morning my madam Boss how are you And God bless you
very useful
Thank madam Boss
I watched a video years ago that said that for example
If you're friend called and asked you where you are
If you say you are at the hospital, it means you're visiting someone at the hospital means you're not the sick...
But if you say am in the hospital it means you're the patient staying in bed.... Is it correct?.. Please explain
Thank you so much for that AnneMarie,I can easily determine whether I am right or wrong in my preposition😊
Why you said "build ON the example" not IN? Also if you could make a content on how to use OF vs FOR, would be very helpful. Thanks!
Thank you. 'To build on' is a common phrasal verb in English which means to use something as a basis for further development. And thank you for the lesson idea.
Can you do a private lesson?

No one explained better than you
Thank you kindly, Chole Neo! 😀
Extremely informative. Thank you so much.
Does it mean, that I have to ask: have you looked for your glasses ON the train? Thankful, Julia
That is how English speakers would typically say that, yes.

Could you help me? I'm confusing about the preposition. Thanks a lot
1/" in Wall street " on "on Wall street" I found in youglish. Which is correct and why? Thanks a lot.
I know that you were a commodities trader for fours years on Wall Street
he never thought he would be rich on Wall Street
What do they do in Wall Street?
it's all in Wall Street
you're in Wall Street
2/ "in the street" or "on the street"
You could be someone who lives on the street.
we are walking around on the street
He's just a kid that they found in the street
A ball in the street
Thanks for the question. To be "in Wall Street" may be a reference to a profession, not a location. Without the full context I cannot be sure.
If a ball is in the street, it means it's directly in the middle of the street and could be hit by a car. Typically someone doesn't stand 'in' the street because it's dangerous.

How should I call in the break on the break or at the break
Please create video for prepositions of Time AT .IN ON ALSO
Thank you for the lesson suggestion. I will consider this for a future topic.
You're a promising teacher...❤

I have Question about this example I work on the farm. Why use on
Thanks for the question. A farm is (somewhat) flat surface of land. And when we refer to a surface, we use 'on.'
Thank you sooo much!
Thanks for sharing this information. What about software. For example: I need to update my data in/on Oracle. Thank you!
Thanks for the question. I've heard both used and for many English speakers there may be little to no difference. However, one could also use "on Excel" to describe creating the Excel program while working "in Excel" is to use the program.
