It's all wrong info...read my post in comments..I'm a local for 27 years and I revealed the truth about vegas from people to healthcare...you can research its validity.
I was watching a channel where the couple said they moved back to Los Angeles because the school system is terrible ? The health care is terrible , car insurance is sky high , crime is high ? Way too hot during certain months, home and rentals going way up and they are very very crude when it comes to utilities. So why is Nevada so great to move to again it sure doesn’t sound like it according to the couple .
Well, if they can afford to live in Los Angeles, I wouldn’t move either. I moved out if CA when my property taxes went double.
I've been coming to LV off and on since 2006 from the Northeast. I finally decided to make the move since I go there every year, but before I do I'm making inroads to repairing my credit score, getting my drivers license and acquiring a new job skill. So the plan is to be resident in Vegas by 2025 with enough money, my own vehicle and a decent house.
Whoo hoo, @Supremmo! That's a great plan. And if you need more advise or assistance with speeding up your plan and making your official Las Vegas life as reality, you know we're here for you! 💛
@@LasVegasGal Thank you!
💛
You got this!
Good plan
Just moved here a week ago in cintininal hills, absolutely love it here!
My husband and I are set to move into town next week! Thank you for all of your helpful info 😃
Whoo-hoo! So happy for you guys! And soooo glad we were able to be of assistance! 😍
So educational and informative..
@Salt Lake Snow Bunny, thank you for your kind comment and for taking time to support this video!
Thank you for a very informational video as I have been a resident of Vegas for over 12 years now and the last time I checked, statistically most people that move to Vegas rarely stay for no less than 3 years and no more than 18 months. Kudos to YOU!!
Thank you for making this video! My husband and I are planning to move there within the next year or so. We visit 3x a year and can’t wait to come! This video was really informative so thank you.
@cowboynina, thank you very much! So glad I was able to give you some info before you guys make the move. Please let me know if I could be of further assistance in preparation for your move... My team and I would be more than happy to help you find your Las Vegas home. 😊
Good job on the video. “ It’s a dry heat”. This is true with my oven as well. I for one, couldn’t take it. Not just the summer but more like five miserable months! The water shortage would scare me too along with the dirt storms, rattlesnakes, black widows and the other things that come with living in a desert. I know these things won’t bother others. We are all different and I do agree that there are pluses to moving there. Just not for us!
Hey @Craig Jorgensen. Thank you for the compliment and taking the time to view my video! Yeah, Vegas isn't for everyone... but like everything else, there are pros and cons. As long as you know who you are and what you like, you can make anywhere home...
As a “hot weather person” I was getting the point I couldn’t take it anymore, one of the reasons I moved. For me the constant dry, hot air was causing a number of physical issues as well. My skin was so dry I was starting to prematurely age, my hair would constantly break off, I had dark spots on my arms from dehydration. 1 month in LA and out of the dessert and all these issues are gone and my skin is plump again.
@TrumpyBooden, glad that you were able to get those issues resolved. Sorry if that meant having to move out of Las Vegas.
I moved to Vegas originally in 2018, again in 2022, and now I'm looking forward to going back again really soon 😳😅 (last 3 years have been wiiilldd). Anyway, I'm like soooo in love with Vegas it's hilarious. I annoy everyone I know about it. Then, when I'm in Vegas, I'm like *aaah~*. I love this video, it captures so much of what I tell people I love about Vegas all the time. The history, nature, growing community and arts and music scene. And the people are so chill! You are so Vegas and I love it 🤩🔥haha! Can't wait to come home again soon and for good this time 💕🌴🎰 and thank you for this video, I already am sending it to people to convince them to move there with me now!!! 🫶🏼🥰
Thank you for sharing this video....I hope they are open to moving here, too! That way you have more fun people to enjoy Las Vegas with!
I am glad to hear that you are very contented with your city.
Wow. This video was incredibly helpful. For years my husband and I have wanted to move to Las Vegas. This was extremely helpful. Thank you!

Getting this info from a Vegas insider is PRICELESS!! Thanks Laci!
It's my pleasure, @Action VJ. That's what I'm here for! 😄
Most definitely. Pick your neighborhood carefully. DO NOT engage in the "Las Vegas" lifestyle, i.e. gambling, booze, drugs, and other vices. Stay out of the casinos, bars, taverns and the like. DO realize that one has to lower expectations in many cases with regards to healthcare, education and job opportunities. If you are semi retired and have a good income, life can be good. Plan on taking a trip to Maine July - August. Avoid the losers.
Good Morning, I think this is the second time I’ve responded to one of your videos. This one is terrific, I’ve shared residence here, with Staten Island, N.Y. for the last 34 years. I, now am in a over 55 retirement community. You’re right about these places, and places like this being group friendly. Everyone knows, and looks out for each other. As far as schools are concerned-First, our teachers need a raise, no stadium, please, until they get their deserved money-But as far as the quality of schools are concerned, different parts of the city have different levels of quality/ below quality. Please check that before you, as a family, with young children move here. Thank You.
Thank you for responding!
I have been thinking of moving to LV from CA and came across your channel. Love all your advice and tid bits about LV. If I do decide to move, you are the first person I'm calling to help me find a home. Love your personality !!
Oh my! I better be the first person you contact....not just in helping find a home! While that is what I do for a living, I also want to be able to give you advice, tips, even creating a plan to move here if necessary! It's never too early to chat! 😀💛
very nice vid, did surprise me about mention of Pahrump. in case one really wondering about commuting to and from vegas, it is a nice easy drive to get to the strip casino/resorts, worst part once hit stop lights on 160, mainly about Durango and on (been doing it now just over 2 yrs and many others do it). it's posted 55 mph and with right traffic can be done but the times i am on, average 40ish. mention of open carry, do see some in vegas mostly off the strip, in Pahrump will see it pretty regularly and many of them women. i suggest if look to carry get the CCW and carry concealed.
Thank you for sharing your insight and observation, @Ray w! 😉
We got married in Vegas and have been desiring to move there. This video was awesomely helpful.
Great video thanks for sharing! I've been thinking of moving out there for a few years now. I've had some very good job offers out there and I'm thinking of finally making the move this year.

I've been through every State in this union and Las Vegas has always been the best place to visit for me (in my opinion). You can get the best entertainment, the best chefs that prepare the best foods. That's why I am planning to move to Pahrump which is only about a 1 hour drive to Las Vegas. I prefer to live outside of the crowds but enjoy the option of going to where all the action is.
@Mark Freda! Yeeesssss! Pahrump is a great place to be, also. It's just a short drive to the city and you get the benefits of living far enough to get away from the crowds. 😄
@@LasVegasGal Once after I have everything set up I'll have to invite you and your son out for a swim and a BBQ : )
Sounds like a fun plan! 😄
@@LasVegasGal And, it will give you the opportunity to meet some very interesting people. I'll be bringing my team with me from different parts of the U.S. to open different businesses with me. One of them is a movie actor that started his career with acting in the original (George Romero's) "Dawn of the Dead" movie.
🎉 🎉 🎉
I was on the fence about moving back to Vegas, but you convinced me with this video. I lived there when I was 9-11 yo back in 05-07 and did enjoy it... I've been in Reno for 10 years and cant stand it anymore. Too many people moving here and its not built to equip it. The food, jobs, entertainment, and winters are crap too. I need change. 😂
Hey there @BossHogNoCandy! If I convinced you with this video, that means I am doing my job! But seriously, living in Vegas as a kid versus as an adult is a totally different experience. If you enjoyed it back then....there's so many more things to enjoy now, right? And if you do end up missing Reno, you can always take a trip up there!
Seriously though...if I can do anything to help you make a solid decision, or give additional information so you decide with no regrets...I'm your Las Vegas Gal!😊
As another local thanks for #1!! We do have a local community here!
Thank you for all you do for us new folks finally making the move to Las Vegas! Keep up the great work

Is Lacy a movie star. She makes me want to move to Vegas right now. Flawless!!
Hahaha. Not yet, but mabye some day!
Good information but uhh I gotta check you on feeling safe issue. In certain pockets of LV it's safe and you don't think twice but basically the entire rest of the city is not like that. You can barely stop at a walgreens, grocery store or a restaurant for that matter without being approached by at least 1 homeless person, a lot of times multiple coming at you from multiple angles as well lol.
💛💛💛
Yeah…don’t go to Los Angeles. Your head will explode lol
I was born and raised in a Desert city of El Paso, Texas, and Las Vegas to me. Seems like my old home, but 10 times more better and more prosperous. My hope is that I get a good fortune and move into a nice two bedroom two bathroom apartment somewhere in the city of Las Vegas.
Your hope can be a reality! If I can be of any assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out!
I just got a “work from home” job, thinking about moving to Vegas for a year or two. I’ve lived all over, never even been to Vegas though. But I’m a huge UFC fan, it’s the place to be for people like me. In the past I’ve moved to 2 different cities without ever visiting before! 😂
Hey @odridnaryopinion4081! Oh yes! UFC is so big here, you are definitely gonna want to stay in Las Vegas! If your remote work allows you to be here in Vegas, if not to experience your best Las Vegas life, but just to be near the UFC action, I'd say go for it!
@@LasVegasGal my work allows me to be anywhere in the world as long as I can work their business hours! I may visit before deciding, but my lease only has 4 months left!
Oh yes, @ordinaryopinion4081. Visiting is definitely a smart move so you can get a feel of what it would be like. And if you need any assistance, just reach out. Happy to give you recommendations!
I want to move to las Vegas!!!
Let's go!!! 😉
We drive through LV several times a year when traveling for the winter. Each time we can't wait to get past the racetrack to the north or Boulder City to the south and know we're clear of this sewer of a city. The traffic, congestion and density are unbearable. Escapees of California have taken a once bearable place and made it unbearable. We made the mistake a couple of times of needing gas and having to stop and what a mistake. Filthy surroundings and never felt safe. Got in/out as fast as possible. Now I have 2 five-gallon gas cans in the back of the truck, so we never have to stop there again. You can have it. LV is near the top of our top 10 places to NEVER live.
Thank you for giving your insight and respect your opinion although I don't agree. Thank you for taking a moment to comment and watch this video.
I am moving to Las Vegas in March. I'm going to be working in the casinos, audition in March, which I am not worried about failing having dealt for a long time and no record. I am currently researching everything so I am very interested in your video.

Thank you so much for this information. I’m moving from Los Angeles to Vegas July 2024. So excited. I don’t own a car so location is everything. Now just need to decide what apartment complex I want to move to. I really wanted to love somewhere “artsy” and “trendy” but heard Arts District is not the best area. Is this true? I have a small dog so someplace where I can walk my dog and have some grass/park is ideal or even a dog park inside the complex would be best. Thoughts? Currently have Vestra at Uncommons and Auric in mind.

Thank i live Atlanta about retire soon might move out there i am for NYC las Vegas always have something do it little boring here
Awesome! This place never stops. Best place in the world!
The car insurance isn't as high as Michigan, actually coming to nevada my insurance dropped 150.00 per month. The downside is i was here 2 months and someone hit me from behind and the insurance company totaled my suv. Still don't understand how it happened. But the drving in nevada is unbelievable. I come from Michigan where we have ice storms. Snowstorms, rainstorms and anything in-between and never have i had someone tear up my car, mor have i ran into anything or anyone to have my car totaled. And Michigan drivers can be crazy on the roads.
Thank you for sharing this @denisekidd613! We definitely aren't the highest with it comes to car insurance prices, but yes, the driving out here can also be crazy.
I’m from California & was fine living there until I find out that I will be moving to Texas I was so sad about moving to Texas & living there for 2 years was making me feel depressed & now we’re finally moving to Vegas in august & I’m happy about that

First I wanted to visit, but I’m getting sick and tired of Miami.. I’ll move there some day
I'm just a message away if you need any help, advice or just general input!
Being a Michigander I know about high car insurance cost!
Everyone talks about the extreme heat but what about the winters? I am used to the heat but not any cold weather
My girl and I are mid-20s and earlier this year we moved from AZ to Carmel, IN which consistently ranks top places to live in the U.S.
Seriously, look into how insane the quality of life here is
And yet.. we're bored out of our minds. Is living in Las Vegas really as glamorous as it seems or do you think it'll eventually just feel like the hot, never-ending summers of Arizona? We're looking at Summerlin
Such a great question! I feel like Las Vegas can totally give you the kind of adventurous life you're looking for... yes, it can feel glamorous because of all the big events or big names our city attracts, but it can also allow you to live the quiet, "normal" life when you need a break. And we are near nature parks, cabins, lakes -- it's got everything! But the heat is undeniable, especially during the summers.
Laci, you do a fantastic job with your videos!
@Living in Omaha - David Matney, thank you so much for this inspiring comment, David! I do what I can. It's not always easy, but you guys taking a moment to watch and comment make it totally worth it!😊
Not sure I want to buy . Are there places to rent that's accessible to everything as I don't have a car?
Hey @Tammy. There are definitely a lot of places to rent, but just a warning...the rent rates are pretty high. I usually tell people, if you can afford to rent, then you might want to consider buying as an investment. But as far as it being accessible to everything, that can be a little challenging. While we do have public transportation so you can get around, Las Vegas isn't the best to get around on foot.
Great video looking to move 2026 after credit repaired and money saved. I’m just worried and been thinking about schools for the kids.
I totally get it. But there are a ton of different options to consider when it comes to education. Don't be worried...you'll be surprised at the options and opportunities you'll be able to give your kids!
I own a rental house in Las Vegas. I receive an 8% increase in property tax each year not 3%.
😶
When she talked about Marijuana. She didn't mention Hotel/Casino employment. Do any locals know if the hotels and casinos test for marijuana? I won't be wanting a job on the casino floor nor as a bartender. Just bellhop, kitchen crew, broom pusher, janitorial, etc.
It depends on the employer. I don’t think it’s something that weighs heavily anymore or prevents it unless you’re doing police work, etc.
@@LasVegasGal TY
And city driving is crazy too so of course a lot of wrecks equals high insurance rates
Yeah, driving here can be pretty scary. Gotta always practice defensive driving!
There are many things you will find out lol. BUT I just need to let you know the first ripoff : when you register your car from California to Nevada , they will give you the new registration paperwork but they will claim that they mailed you the new tag and title which is bs. Both of our cars never got that mail so now they will ask you to pay for lost stickers and title lol outrageous
Thank you for sharing your experience. Sorry you had to go through that.
I loved this video. I was born and raised in NYC, been living in Kansas for the last 8 years. Vegas Baby here I come!

Are there studio apartments in the $800-$1,200 range in abundance?
Not in abundance. $1200 - $1400 is about right.
@@LasVegasGal I could definitely work with a $1,300/month rent. Is that common in and around the metro?
I can't wait to move to the west coast I'm from Ohio and my dream year is late 2025 early 2026 😊
Traffic is the worst here in San Diego ! Can’t wait to move to Nevada come October !
Yay! 😁
I moved to Las Vegas in 1984, from San Diego (Scripps Ranch). Never looked back. If you can live with the hot months, this is a paradise.
Is it still safe on the strip? I read the homeless are taking over?
Still safe. But you just have to also be aware of your surroundings so you are protecting yourself.
Would Vegas be a good place for a single, 23 year old female to move to? I’m trying to get space from where I grew up and I think Vegas is beautiful and lively, just dunno about going there now knowing anyone
Hey @Musiclover6714! That's a great question. My immediate answer is YES! There are so many things to do out here and events to participate in, it feels like it's impossible for you not to meet people and really get a tight crew together in no time. With that said, Las Vegas is just like any other major city... there are areas you have to be more aware of.
There are things to do for people your age but very expensive if you like to go dancing or night clubbing
I am planning on moving to Vegas and I am so nervous😢
Oh, no...I'm sorry you feel nervous. But you know you can ask me any questions so we can give you more information. And I know my subscribers will also be willing to answer.
How are the home owner insurance rates? Are there any natural disasters?
We don’t typically experience natural disasters other than flooding but that’s really rare. Home insurance rates are quite low by comparison to other states. It depends on the home and neighborhood so I cannot provide rates.
Moving there late this year or next year.

Aren there town homes with back yard for dogs?
Yes! Many townhomes have yards for small and larger dogs. They are not usually very big but they have them often. Also, many communities have dog parks.

Awesome content as always Laci ! Just a side note regarding high auto insurance rates in LV…I’m not prone to focusing on the negative…and for the record I’m looney toons in love with your city ! However, I feel we would be remiss to point out that another major reason for high auto insurance rates there is due to auto theft rates being around 33% higher than national average (around 370 instances per 100,000 people compared to 246 per 100,000 people according to FBI data)…and the problem tends to be a little more severe on the Henderson side of town. As always, be vigilant in any large city and don’t be dumb and leave your car parked with windows down and keys inside! 😂
Thank you for sharing your insight, @bambamrubble6310! I can totally feel you. You are right, you really have to be vigilant, especially in big cities.
what about the scorpions ?

Im looking to move to Las Vegas and the one thing I was worried about was the heat. I recently visited Vegas and the temperature reached 99 degrees. I was so surprised that it wasn't uncomfortable at all! The very low humidity makes the high temps bearable. I live in Georgia where 78 degrees and 90% humidity can immobilize you.
I'm glad you felt good in "our" heat! Hahaha. It's always so funny to see everyone's reactions to realize what "dry" heat means.
It will be 118 thus Sunday. Summer and oppressive heat for most of the year ..no rain.
