I used to work with this girl who was naturally gorgeous. I asked her how she took care of her skin because it was insanely poreless and smooth. She told me it was genetics and her grandma and her mom had the same skin type. I couldn't even be jealous because she was such a nice person.

I once had a dermatologist willing to be honest with me. I struggle with reactiveness to products so I wanted to know what would make the biggest difference for my skin. She told me the crucial items you need are: proper hydration and diet, a gentle cleanser and exfoliant, a good moisturizer, a good sunscreen consistently used, and good sleep. The rest is genetics or treatments that are mainly temporary. She encourages her clients to use the treatments if they make them feel more confident, but most of those treatments really only give a temporary/minor polish.

Careful! In this society, saying that the ‘answer lies in genetics and there’s nothing I can do’ can be considered ‘hate.’
Doesn’t everyone know that if my chromosomes show XX then I can literally CHANGE THE DEFINITIONS to FORCE science to APPEAR as if it can be altered…when it cannot. And saying that it cannot, and refusing to acknowledge a person’s desired scientific condition can be considered not only ‘hate’ but WORSE…‘hurting their feelings.’ No ones feeling are allowed to be hurt.
My son is a doctor and I have to hear him come home all the time and say ‘we are in a society where we have to praise someone as ‘stunning and brave’ if they have no clothes on but THINK they do, because the actual truth is something they don’t want to hear. And ‘I have to smile and say how lovely their outfit is, while all the while knowing it doesn’t exist.’ He works for UC Health in Colorado (the top teaching hospital in Colorado and one of the nations best) and will literally spend all day on a Sunday visit saying how ‘nearly every’ doctor feels the same way except for the ones PROFITING off of the medical treatments a teenage kid will have FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE so that they can APPEAR as the sex they are not, despite the answer lying within every single cell of their body. It’s a real crisis in medicine! Many doctors refuse to socialize or mix with the ones profiting off of a confused teen, while permanently destroying their body and almost certainly cutting their lifespan short.

It looks just like his pictures when he was in his 50s, not because he was prematurely old then, but because he looked 50-ish in his 80s. It's incredible and unexplainable. We had those pictures up at the memorial and there were pictures of my in my late 20s. My stepsisters and brother-in-law hadn't seen me for a decade. They said "You look exactly the same!" which is a bit of an exaggeration but I don't look my age. I am 50. People guess me at late 30s. There are powder sprays, but I haven’t seen any for sunscreen personally. Typically sprays are liquid, and you still need to apply the same amount that you would of cream in order to get the rated amount, but most of the time people assume that it’s a more reasonable, functional amount of spray, and also don’t think of the amount that doesn’t end up on their face.

And I look younger now in my thirties than I did in my twenties solely due to some things I have incorporated into my lifestyle. Consistent skincare, sun protection, balanced diet & collagen/multivitamin supplements have helped my skin immensely. Genetics is a cop out. If you ate a carnivore diet your acne would go away. Acne is just an expression of your body purging toxins from something you are eating. Just gotta do an elimination diet to find out what it is.

Sunscreen sprays are proven to provide excellent coverage as long as you spray, PLUS rub it into your skin. Sticks are the same. Of course, both will give splotchy coverage if only sprayed or applied with a stick. Also, yes, I realize she's talking about UV coverage, not just sunscreen.😊❤

I hear you about the Vitamin E. That being said, anecdotally, I’m a waitress and when I use vitamin E to treat my burns, it always heals better and faster. I’ve done it with a control burn too, and it worked extremely well in comparison. Peer review is great, love it, writing on this phone because of it, but it’s not everything. Lots of secrets still 😊

I think the Vitamin E tidbit is total BS. A lighter blew up in my mother’s face and burned her forehead badly. I remember being 5 years old and watching her pop vitamin E pills and rubbing it on her forehead. She did that twice daily for years and she had major improvement.
She used OOO to wash her face and vitamin E oil and that’s it. Her skin was always flawless. Same for her body. Her birthed 5 children and never got stretch marks.
