"Dance Moms" follows Abby Lee Miller and the nation's favorite tween dancers as they take on Hollywood while new auditions, new competitions, and new studios raise the stakes.
The road has not been easy for “Dance Mom’s” star Abby Lee Miller. After completing her prison sentence last year, the famed dance instructor was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. But if anything, Abby has proven she is a fighter and is not ready to hang up the dance shoes. The new season of Dance Moms follows Abby as she rebuilds her dance company while battling the after-effects of cancer that has left her confined to a wheelchair. Abby is ready to get back to her life and do what she loves most…teaching students to dance! With the goal of putting her life, health and dance studio back together, Abby returns to where it all began - the Abby Lee Dance Company in Pittsburgh.

The argument they were having before they went onstage was interesting. The girls wanted to count out the routine and Laurieanne didn’t, she called them formulaic.
Laurieann is used to working with pro adults who’ve long outgrown needing to go “5,6,7,8” when they learn choreography. If you watch real serious industry dancers work, they feel the counts in the music more since they’re older and have more experience. It just comes with age, and the whole room operates under that assumption while they’re learning. When Kendall goes “what count do we do after the ding...” Laurieann gets frustrated because adults would have picked that up already and not be stressing counts before going onstage. Laurieann probably thought that because Dance Moms is a TV show, she would be working with TV dancers with an LA pro mindset, even as kids.

I think Laurieanne was trying to give them that opportunity to transition into that. Abby probably teaches in a way that's very "A-->B-->C" because they're kids and Laurieanne is more like "hop into it and because you're a great dancer, you know what you're doing"
Most of them been dancing since age 3 they should’ve been outgrown that but since they was under a racist lunatic who hates children who only focused on her favorites they wouldn’t need to count
I feel like this dance is SO underrated, it's really neat! Additionally, I'm not the biggest Maesi fan, but she did a really great job with the lead in this number! It's really too bad it only got third, I feel like it deserved higher than that. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a big fan of modernesque contemporary, but I think it's a really cool number, and I feel like Laurieann's concepts as a whole didn't score as well as they should have.

Yes thank you. I know for a lot of ppl it felt dramatic or hurtful, but they have to understand the stereotypes put on us black ppl for being late and unprepared. That was a fave moment for me.

no. i disagree. she’s not babying them. she’s right though and i’ve seen it before. if you don’t bring your costume you don’t dance. she’s toughing them up and showing them what the real world and dance industry is like. she’s also teaching them that you’re old enough to pack your own bags and bring what you need yourself.
Better than Abby. I'd prefer the dramatics of tough love and theatrics than a mentally damaging person talking down to you constantly.

I absolutely adore Laurieann and her choreography and her style of working with dancers. I would love to perform for her. And while Contagious was a gorgeous number that was beautifully danced, I don't think it deserved to win. They weren't together for a few parts of it, so I could see how they weren't placed first

Nothing wrong with strict. She may have been dramatic but in the professional world the young could of easily been out. Period.
What is wrong is insulting, degrading and mind fuc&ing a young mind till their sprit is shot. That's Abby's way.

Notice how every time the girls dance for Abby and go to that specific competition place they ALWAYS win. And when they go with a different choreographer they always lose.....that blonde guy is up to something.
