This video was the BEST, by far, of all the videos I've wasted hours watching. Even the "pros" and "experts" couldn't come close. Thank you so much for this!
Thank you so much for the informative video! I recently purchased a 12×14 shed and a couple windows for it at a yard sale. I can plumb anything but this will be my first attempt at framing windows, so wish me luck!
I had to watch your video again, because I am building a new garage. I will be installing windows for the next few days. Have you ever had a problem with this window leaking from the top? Some people install a new construction window to the framework. Then they put the T 1-11 siding over the window flange. Other people may choose to install the window after the T 1-11 siding has aready been hung. Which do you think is best?
Thank you for sharing this video. Have you ever considered using a Z bar flashing metal across the top of a window? I saw a RUclips video on it. I thought I would ask your opinion.
I seen some folks do that. I will do a side by side install video and have a "sprinkler" run on it for few days. I think it will be not much of a difference vs having seal tape, but it will be a cool test.
Great video, what series are your windows? I’m have trouble finding windows where the 1x4 sit flush with the windows. The ones at the big box stores have 1 1/8” sticking out from the nail flange. Thanks
it was this one... www.homedepot.com/p/American-Craftsman-37-75-in-x-56-75-in-70-Series-White-Double-Hung-Low-E-Argon-Glass-Vinyl-Fin-with-J-Window-Screen-Incl-70-DH-FIN/203157331
you do not use any flashing at the top, yet you put tape @ the bottom, how do you know the water will run outside and not inside??? When I was a young man using roofing barbs to nail windows, was definitely a nono, use pan head screws , and check the function of the window "BEFORE" you nail it off! The only thing that protects this window from leaking is the overhang!!!!
Hey there! On the top I plan to add trim to the windows, hopefully that would prevent water. Great comments overall... i do agree having a overhang will prevent the window leak.... Thanks for watching.

You got this! good luck.
Great video. Good job - keep them coming! Have you put windows in a shipping container? That’d be a good video.
great idea... and yes! it would be good content for the channel. I've noted it down. Thanks for watching.
Nice job! Very simple and straight forward.
Did you paint or stain your smart side?
I ended up painting… thanks for watching
Very clear & helpful.
question: WHY is it better to use roofing nails than screws to fasten the window?
He mentioned that the screw heads can sometimes get in the way of the exterior trim
Is the same method of installation used in the North (Ohio/Dayton area?) Just curious if there are more steps since I saw you are in Georgia! Thanks!
Thanks, great job on the video very helpful and yes letting the water have a exit is s great idea, I like it.
Love it!! thanks for watching.
I'm reusing the windows in my kitchen. They have a nailing fin but no predrilled holes so I have to drill my own.

Great! I love when it works out! Thanks for watching.
I decking screws for everything they grip so well…
That’s a good idea, however they are a bit pricey for some projects. Thanks for watching!!!
Brasileiro? What part of the states are you in
Olá!!! I am in Georgia, right outside Atlanta.
Why do we need to put a nail in every hole?
It's recommend bu the manufacturer, i know it sounds overkill.
You did not flash the insides & top!!! Then, you flash over the Nailer. Yes, never tape the bottom after the window install.
