It's 363 HP because it's a pushrod engine not overhead cam. The 3.6 L is in fact OHC. Overhead valve engines take up less space per displacement, so it's much smaller than an OHC 5.7 L V8 would be.
You're totally incorrect about the "slip" in the 8HP. It is simply the best automatic trans out right now. Aston Martin doesn't use it just as a joke.

These run low 13’s stock with a good driver and conditions, and mid 13’s with a bad Driver. The car limits power in colder conditions. Same with how the transmission shifts. Not only that, with good sticky tires and a better intake and filter/Diablo tuner they run in the 12’s. Such a slow car? What meth is he on?

Since I am a die-hard Mopar user I'm jaded.... That being said, when he knocks on the drivetrain and trans shifting. He is unaware that in conditions below 40°F the CPU reduces power to better control the vehicle. Next time read the factory brochure and get a better knowledge of your going to give a " review"

@@Roger-ob2ft lmao 🤣 They only hit mid 13's with drag radials. 13.9 stock. Not bad for just a 5.7. The LS engines and 5.0's have very high compression and aggressive cams while the 5.7 doesn't have either and performs just fine.
Lack luster speed? I’ve seen stock ones so 13.1 with a good driver and even the regular 13.6 is very fast compared to most vehicles on the road. What a squid.
This guy's voice annoys me. Not even a car enthusiast and reviews the car like it is an appliance. He doesn't get the appeal, this car has PRESENCE on the road. Just got a black on black 2017 300C Hemi Platinum and it is freakin' awesome!! It has more than enough power/torque and that 8-speed is silky smooth. It's absolutely loaded with tech and fit and finish is just fine. Great road trip car, it just glides down the road.

Does the platinum trim have the wood grain panels on the inside?
@@mji9208 yes, real wood trim on doors, dash and console. I don't think you can get a Platinum anymore though. I believe 300C gets wood trim and 300S gets piano black.
G8GTJav exactly. I’m waiting until they give the sport package to 300C trim level and I’ll get one. My wife thinks they are “old man” cars but I like them. Just enough power for good highway cruising and you get a lot for the money. She would rather me get a charger.

We have one,love it..the 5.7 wakes up with more miles on it..4.89 sec 0-60 and 13.42 in the 1/4 mile...We have the factory Mopar upgrade exhaust,rest is tock ....I still could improve on the 0-60 as I got wheel spin ,but its my wifes car so..

Thanks for watching! We didn't know how to justify the $50 price tag. If you paid $30-35 for yours that might sound like "too negative". Our test package was $50k and we know a better options in luxury sedan category.

In the looks for a 2017 300s with the Alloy Edition package 🔥 Looks phenomenal
I've owned a 2014 300S and a 2016 300S and they were very good with fit and finish. The transmission was better on the 2016, but, overall, they were better that what he describes in this video. That said, I don't dispute anything he says. What we see in this review is the fact that Chrysler is going to abandon the car after 2019, so why work hard at making it better or more refined? It's going to die on the vine and Chrysler seems only to happy to let it go out with a whimper instead of a bang.

Damn you guys are right he is Mr negative. I have a 2005 Chrysler 300. That almost has 200,000 miles on it and still runs like a dream. I think it's built pretty good in my eyes. Had it for 7 years and nothing has fallen apart yet. The engine and transmission work great. Haven't added transmission fluid or service to transmission since I had the car. 7 years later still runs great. So I'm not sure what he's talking about quality-wise. Done watching his videos.😮
I wish to buy the 2018 Chrysler 300s with 123,977 mileage and I was discouraged that the vehicle would not last !😅

If you use the sport button on the dash in conjunction turning the shifter to sport mode it will tighten the steering even more and enhance the shifting. Mr negative must drive German cars, this car is half the price to purchase and half the price to maintain.

Seems like you are comparing this 300 to a 392 or 345ci charger or challenger with super track pack features and higher gear ratios. The 300 hemi has plenty of power and performance for what it is. A big modern American sedan. It's a luxury car not a all out street performer. I'm sure with a tune it can perform the way you seem to be wanting.

Yes they are! However, I worry are they practical.
As much as that's my dream car and I love that color you write about what you said they could do better all that money they want for that car and they done the very little so they don't really care what people driving their product as you said the body style is very attractive but the inside tells a whole different story how the car performs that's a red light in my book
What model year of the 300 would you recommend buying for that quality and finish that you were talking about?
It's a cool looking car but for the 50k price tag (or test model) you can find way better car in almost every other brand.

This dude made the car look like shit. For the price of the car and performance its a good deal! You got charger scat packs round 50k.. this is 40k the most and it's a luxury car for Chrysler. It's built to be what it is this dude is the worst review man ever. I had 300 hemis for 3 years and I I own a HELLCAT I love everything about my 300 still. Worst video

I think the guy confused 200k luxury with 50k luxury. It's still pleb level luxury and that's not meant in a negative way.
But i do agree that a 5.7 should have way more power.
The car is luxury but he’s right, it uses cheap materials which kinda ruins the luxury vibes… I saw a 2021 used for sale with the steering wheel already peeling… the one who sold it was also an older man so he probably steered with both hands causing a bit extra friction on the already cheap leather it has on the steering wheel… overall tho crazy nice looking 300 and I’m currently in the looks for a 300s with the 5.7 hemi 🔥
@@christianrobledo2724 I've had plenty of them and never had pilling problems none of that yes they have plastic and them in certain things like that but think about it for 50K is definitely worth its price we're not talking about $100,000 car and all that you can buy one for 30 40 50 right now with a hemi in beautiful shape I had 4 300 hemis and they done me good if there was peeling on the steering wheel and stuff like that somebody didn't take care of their car at all 💯 but like I said I agree with what he's saying with certain things but he basically bashed on the Chrysler 300s like it was a Mercedes-Benz s class that was sold cheap 🤣 but do it man that's a good car it's solid

The 5.7 in this has slightly more power and torque than the same engine in the Durango. Even in 2023.
That damn Kia stinger was so overrated and overpriced i looked at one 50 grand my ass but I agree 50 grand for a 300 is too much and I own one I know and that's what makes FCA products overpriced the interiors but the discounts and incentives makes up for that so I'm happy with my choice
Why drive it if you going to be so negative.. Drive cars you like because I love my 300s and you can feel the different when you use sport mode.. The look is not outdated it’s for the people who like the 300 look from day one..
It's not only how it looks. It's because there is no real value when it comes to $ amount vs what you get. Almost any other car in this class would give you much more in terms of tech, power, and comfort. If you like the style look at the Scat Pack Charger. You'll end up with way better vehicle and a lot more fun!

Perhaps the biggest let down is you expecting SRT performance out of a S model. Gtfo. You get what you pay for
You should raise the bar or "what's expected" when it comes to 50k price tag (tested model). And yes it needs a major re-haul since not everyone is buying for just how it looks. People get smarter :)
everyone knows this, but people rarely ACCEPT this: all these reviews regardless of make, model, type, etc are 90% SUBJECTIVE....ergo, if you don't like something, it's much easier to critique, and much harder to give credit, and the opposite is true when someone favors something....a line from the old movie 'The Matrix", the problem is choice: what do YOU want? and what are YOU willing to pay? Its not a ZF problem, it's Chrysler programming that's the problem.
They are unequivocally the best performing and best reviewed automatic transmissions on the market.

Your review sucks. The car changes at 39 degrees for safety and it also has different driving modes you can change too.
