  • I could show you the before and after of these side tables and it would seem rather uneventful. This restoration had some unhappy surprises in it, but in the end it all came together. I hope you enjoy this furniture transformation!

    Original Poem-
    Someday the winds will change
    As everything fades
    You'll say it was made
    To be this way
    When a shift in momentum
Captures us all in the wave
    It will carry us
    On to the next phase
    Leaving behind all the turmoil
    The chaos and strife
    Pushing us forward
    Into a new life.

When my mother passed away, I took a coffee table that my dad had made for her. She had found cast iron legs and so he made the table top. At some point mother must have thought it would look nice with orange faux leather stapled on it🙄……..then at some other point she had left over green self stick floor tiles. They were stuck on top of the faux leather 🤦🏼‍♀️. My sister said dad put the faux leather on when he made it but due to the random staples I knew mom did it. Long story short, I removed all the garbage from the top and found stained wood but due to mom also using some kind of glue on the vinyl we had to add thin oak to the top and sides. Table looks great now!

Another high-end furniture company. When new these could have been purchased for somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,300 each. How in the heck do you find this good stuff? I'm deeply impressed. That top was certainly a struggle, but you did it proud, as always. Great redo, Emily. Bravo!
