Yes, I have heard of Solo. I have used them on stump grinders. The Solo 694 is a powerful head/Jug as well. Doug, your love for muscle saws makes me smile 😁
wow great saw. never heard of the brand, of course ive heard of it's brother Dolmar. tell me though, if a chainsaw is ported, does that mean it's hungrier on fuel?
what a damn shame that such excellent power saws got shut out. apparently solo sold it saws and other power equipment to some other german brand "al-ko" but they don't seem to be an international company and they don't even make any of solo's pro saws! just makes me bitter to learn of these amazing saws just to find out they're discontinued.
Good comment Benjamin! I concur, and I will add my feelings how Makita shut down their saws (Dolmar) earlier this year. Shut down all their gas stuff, actually. Good luck with that battery operated stuff! Hah! Take care ✌
They still sell factory parts at AL-KO. Solo chainsaw department got sold to them a few years ago, unfortunately. That's where I got my 681 fuel tank/handle assembly, that got smashed by big fat tree root ;-/
I've got a stock 665 and a 665/7910 that I ported. Absolutely love these saws and yes they are getting harder to find. Now is a good time to buy some of the replacement parts from Germany (on Ebay). Dollar and Euro are about 1 to 1 which is like buying these parts at 10-15% off.
Did you Weld the crank on that saw You may want to do that it's a bit of work but it's well worth it because once it comes off the pin it's pretty much shot
Indiana Doug! Been watching a few of your videos, but after seeing this one, and finding out you’re a fellow Dolmar/Makita lover, I’ve Subscribed! Now does that entitle me to a weeks free trial usage of this Solo saw?! Ha ha. That saw looks sick, sounded sick, and ran even sicker! I can definitely see the lineage/ relationship to Dolmar. Love that white clutch cover. Always be careful with your footing. Peace 👍👍✌😊
@@IndianaDoug I always liked them. When I worked small engines, we were dealers for them. Only problem I ever really had with them was that two piece ignition. Had a D-bag rep. Blow a big one up peaking it for an Amish guy one time. 70cc saw was turning way above its head. Amish guy ended up with a 2172 for free.
@@IndianaDoug I tried to buy another NOS 681 from the German guy I bought mine from. But he (read asshole) didn’t want to send more saws to sweden..🤬 fortunately I’ve got a ported 9hp Dolmar 7910 but it would be nice to try out the 681 for comparison..🙂💪
No matter which solo model it is, I LOVE ALL OF THEM! Yet, i still have my solo 644 (this old model from 1992 i belive this is when i bought it, not sure tho) And it works till nowday, i did few minor repairs to it, and i do belive it won't part with me in near future, i would love to actually get 681 in my hands, no matter if broken or not.
I’m thinking hard on a 272 coil for the 7900 pipe saw. It’s hard because the coil I have is 13500rpm and if I add the 272 coil and advance the timing, I highly doubt I’m gonna get over that on the wood
Thanks to this video, I'm purchasing every single saw and part I can find for a solo 681! Jk it's cool man, if it's hard to find that = $$$$. We can play with cheap saws and burn up a couple for the same money.
That thing is running great Doug........
I know you know what’s up👍🏻😎
Mine has a 51cc and it's a Dolmar ps 5105 and I sawed up a storm damaged Pine tree and it blazed right through it, keep up the good work man
This Solo is red hot Doug. I see how tough she's pulling, gosh it's fun. Thanks Indiana Doug for another great one
That thing is a monster Doug!!! So awesome!
Thx I love it

Glad you like it👍🏻 yes the Solo 694 and Dolmar 9010 are the same saws.
That may be the nicest chainsaw I've ever seen. Perfect porting, and so strong. Looks like my Dolly ... but way stronger.
One of the best chainsaws ever made imho.
wow great saw.
never heard of the brand,

The Justin Johnson blues gets me every time

Between Solo and Dolmar, I’m crushed man🤬

That’s a great one bud 👍👍. Very very strong saw!!!! Love it man.
8:15...that's your money shot. Badass.
I replied to you in a short.
Really nice saw! Incredible chainsaw skills 👊🏿. Keep bringing your content 🇺🇸
Thx my brother👊🏼 it’s incredible
I just saw this chainsaw. strong power 👍
My favorite Indonesian❤️ Thanks for stopping by friend!
That is a bad to the bone saw buddy. What a saw. ❤️🌲🪓👊🏻🙏🏻
No extra=s and pull it hard!! Love it!
I just finally bought my first new saw
That is a pretty sweet saw for sure...
Yessir-eee😄
Where would you recommend getting parts for these awesome machines?
Maybe eBay
They still sell factory parts at AL-KO.
Solo chainsaw department got sold to them a few years ago, unfortunately.

@hinz1 really? I’ll look them up, thanks
Looks like your having a blast with it she's a mean one
Popped the chain a couple of hours in and stopped. 😭
Greetings from Bulgaria it is a owesome saw .
Greetings 👋

Yessir 100%👍🏻
But is stock or modded?
Modded in this video.
Did you Weld the crank on that saw You may want to do that it's a bit of work but it's well worth it because once it comes off the pin it's pretty much shot
I remember you telling me this, it’s got a ton of torque now so I’m sure it’ll break if I don’t. I’ll look into it brosky.
So what is the asking price for that model saw or did they replace it with a less expensive/quality product?
Solo sold out, and this new company discontinued all gas powered chainsaws years ago. Such a shame.
This power😎
Very nice saw. It speaks for itself
nice makita has some dolmar heritage like the solo
Unfortunately you’re right, Dolmars ultimate demise😒
That’s a lovely saw mate 👍🏼 sweet as …..
Dang bud you have an awesome collection
Where can I get one
Good luck, getting rare
Excellent Demo
Thank you
Wow! It rips! I want one
That's a Bitchin saw!😉
Thx buddy👍🏻
Do they still make Solo chainsaws?
No
Some Solo new semi pro saw is still made but not original Solo Kleinmotoren Stuttgart factory. I bought one 51cc catalysator saw.
Shes a hot dawg great runin saw sir love it!!
Awesome video & chainsaw...
Thank you friend👍🏻
Very Nice work
Ever ran a solo 646? Any good for 46cc?
No, but I have a 647 and it’s made very well, just really heavy for its class.
@@IndianaDoug ok..thanks for the info
@@fearghalmorrissey2601 anytime.
Solo 651C is best 50cc worksaw💪
MAN, I wish that my 372xp xtork ran that good, but my CFO (wife) would have a conniption fit!
CFO🤣
Very nice
just my favorite :)
Same here friend👍🏻

Come to Saw Fest in Ohio Oct 15th and I’ll let you run it👍🏻

Very nice!
Thanks Joe, it’s a beast👍🏻
Sweet
Nice chainsaw
Thanks 👍 love it
What do you run for oil?
Work saws are 40:1 red armor non eth 90oct
Oh Solo mio 🎶
You like em?
@@IndianaDoug Beautiful saw!
Great, they don't make em anymore, figures.
👍
Hey buddy, how much did you pay for this awesome beast?..I just got one from a friend who passed on..ALOHA from Maui!...🤜🤛🤙🏽
A lot more than any other saw I own🤣
60cm Bar
wow!
That almost runs as good as a stock CS 590
Almost but not quite. Lol
Bad boy
I know, you know😁
Das ist eine gute Säge
Eine gute Legende in der Tat Freund👍🏻
I didn't know Solo was around anymore.
They aren’t really. After the sold the company, the new outfit stopped production on all chainsaws🤷🏻♂️ dumbest move ever!!

Love my 3x Solo 681s too.
Much better than that overpriced electronic garbage pile, what the MS 500i really is!
Loving that saw, thing pulls like a fright train considering that is all original
It’s a powerhouse man!
I’ve got a NOS 681 and hesitate to let it chew some wood..👹🤔

Sounds like some half assed porter stuck their sausages in that cylinder! It's a shame you ruined that sawheet saw.😮😎
I think he ended up using hand files and a angle grinder.
@@IndianaDoug he's done them up with an 046 slug, RWJ carb and a maroon coil or a 272 coil swap.

@@IndianaDoug for tuning, it would be easier though. Easier for me at least.
Please don't get these saws any more popular, it's hard enough finding parts let alone the saws themselves lol. Srsly tho, no bueno on the hype man
