    This is the best color grading channel, I feel that finally I´m undertanding the whole process from scratch. The use of LUTs always had been so confusing to me.

    love the longer length videos; lots to learn about the interaction and pairing of adjustments, such as a balancing light area color with a dark area color; and color harmonies such as your shadow teal (I didn't even notice it until you pointed it out) and the sky yellow/orange. Gives a feel for the artful back and forth of adjustments to find the balance, AFTER you look and see what needs to be done and THEN try to hit the target. Very impressed with your ability to see into the image and visualize the change before you go about dialing it in. Great job. Mike

    A brilliant work through.
    It does look as if the original sky is a composite. The black cloud there to give a break for the blues. More low level cloud for detail on the right.
    A sky replacement would have done you proud but as you say, its about the colour. It certainly is.

    Hey could please make a video about grading with cameras like Sony A6400 or other 8 bit cameras and which slog profiles to use!! Because not everyone uses Alexa or red in their videos many of us use Mirrorless and DSLRs...
    Also love your videos and way you teach in your tutorials, they are a great help and inspiration!!

    This is so good and I think you're way too hard on yourself about the blending part - you don't have the clouds to transition the colours like in the original - but even without the clouds you make it look very good. One quick question - do you think another way of doing this grade would be to qualify her skin from the start at the layer nodes? Arms/legs - although the way you've done it works totally fine as well.The skintones take the natural reflection of the salmon hue in the clouds. Very impressed.

    • @theqazman
      @theqazman  4 года назад +3

      Thank you so much. It's best to minimize the use of qualifiers. It's the hardest thing to translate from shot to shot. If this was a long-form I would try to create a similar look with much fewer windows and qualifier that way I can copy-paste the grade a base and have a good foundation to build off of.

      @@theqazman Note to myself: Don't use qualifiers so much - they don't translate well on other clips... Thanks :)
