It is, but I wouldn’t recommend it if he plans to use the pulley outside; moly grease isn’t recommended for wet conditions. I’d instead suggest a good lithium grease like Lucas Red "N" Tacky.
@@Ea-Nasir_Copper_Co I've got items here that I lubricated with moly grease. These are used in industrial applications, & often in wet weather. No problem. I also use it in the axle , hub, & rear hub pivot bearings in my car, along with the rear axle joints, no problem with wet conditions. The brand moly grease I use is PENRITE. It has a good water resistant package, similar to marine grease. I also have a can of lithium grease here. With these pulleys, i would machine bronze sleeve bearings, & soak them in hot moly grease. My lawn mower wheels are lubricated with moly grease, & it is often used in wet weather. The trick to using this rope hoist is to put it away after use. You need to learn a lot about greases & their uses. I'm a retired engineer. If moly grease is not recommended for wet conditions, you tell me why it is used in a large number of automotive applications, such as constant velocity joints. A lot of these on cars have an issue where the boots split, & water can get in. This ingress of water is not what does the damage. The grease is thrown out by centrifugal force, thus leaving the bearings inside without lubrication. Water plays no part in this.
Nice restore. The final product was absolutely beautiful with the zinc on copper. (Too bad these pulleys don't have the safety systems the modern ones do. Namely, the tongue lock to keep things from camming out of them )
It sounds like you have at least 1 child ,dog, birds must be a cat there I bet another great reston like the way the brass pops in between the the nickel chrome look. I thought the birds on some restos were sound effects🤣🤣😁
Great video,I enjoy watching your commitment to getting the job done.for simple construction there are a lotta parts to be dealt with, just keep doing what your doing and carry on.👍👍👍😎😎😎
Happy New year AJ, to your family and friends, hope you are having a beautiful new year and a prosperous start to 2022, all the best for 2022 from Philip Burrows in Overton on Dee, Wrexham, Wales, UK 🇬🇧
Great thing to have that Media blaster rust doesn't have a chance to stay around Long this piece of equipment for sure is a great tool to have around 👍 oh by the way happy New year too you young man and your family
You don't need to show us every piece after every step, like a showcase model. Just let us see more of the actual action. That's the most interesting part.
Great save of a great piece of equipment. Can multiply your force greatly. Rare to need such force but nice to have as a tool when you do. I also agree, a bit of grease would be best on the parts as you assemble. Grease also tends to prevent rust back when used. Can you show the label on that rust remover jug? I have industry sources I can tap to give you a bit more info on that.
It'll also eat the base metal, but then again so will any acid - and unlike chelating agents such as Evapo-Rust acids need to be replaced fairly frequently. Electrolysis is a better choice for small items, especially if you already have a power source like AJ has. For the price of a tablespoonful or two of salt you can remove rust safely without any risk of damage to the base metal.
This is how God works in our "rusty" being: when our spiritual joints are "numb" by the rust that the blows of life leave behind. When we think "it's all over" ... He rescues us, he takes us in his hands ... and he works silently in our "rust", with the music of the chirping of the birds ... It is so, even if you use tools that make us feel the acid, the force of the wind like a sandstorm ... sand and polish. The finished work is on his retina: he knows that we will come to shine and carry out the path for what He has created us: to provide a service ... And, he clearly "likes" him. # Happy2022 PS: beautiful work ... AJRestorations

Мне интересно, вы делаете инструмент, который в дальнейшем будет применен по назначению, или это украшение, которое будет молча висеть пока снова не заржавеет? Судя по мебельному болту, скорее всего второе.

Nice job. Can I suggest using moly grease to lubricate each of the pulleys? It is an excellent lubricant.

Very interesting video, as always. Could you please tell us the components of the solution for the plating with zinc?

Lovely job.
Now thats cool
Did you know that water and vinegar will eat rust just as good as rust remover and is a lot cheaper to buy?
It'll also eat the base metal, but then again so will any acid - and unlike chelating agents such as Evapo-Rust acids need to be replaced fairly frequently.

Wow!
good job
Nicely done, may I suggest the nuts should be Nyloc?
It was better to take bolts with a hexagonal head. It would be more convenient to collect. Good job!
Great restoration, and good job on the zink plating. Is it the same principle as electrolysis rust removal?
I am still learning how to use the Zink plating. It came out okay but not too great. I will do a video on the plating some time.
@@AJRestoration thanks, ive only just learned how to do electrolysis, so your videos are a great help.

Haha spot on!

А что , смазка на последнем этапе сборки не предусмотрена?
Да там после замены силового болта непонятным сырцом, смазка уже не поможет
Согласен.
