Body odour hunt using dogs (Stasi-DDR)

TÜRKÇE: (scroll down for the ENGLISH text) Vücut kokumuz, bağışıklık sistemi genlerimizin (MHC/HLA)dışa vurumudur ve dolayısı ile herkesin vücut kokusu sankibir biyo-kimlik belgesi gibi farklıdır. Doğu Alman Devler Güvenlik Teşkilatı (Stasi) bunu bilerek olası rejim muhaliflerinin kokularını kavanoz içindeki kumaş parçalarına emdirerek sıkıca kapatılmış kavanozlarda biriktiriyor, daha sonra gereken durumlarda eğitilmiş köpekleri şüphelinin peşine salıyordu. Our body odor is the expression of the genes (MHC/HLA) that regulate our immune system and therefore each of us' body odour is different -like a bio-identity cetificate. Knowing this, East German State Security Service (Stasi) collected the odour samples of possible opponents on cloth pieces and collected them in tightly closed jars. When a need occured, they made trained dogs smell the sample and trace the suspect. In this short newsreel you will see how the dog that has been made to smell a particular suspect's odour correctly spots the jar among other samples.
