could have protected that drain channel surely - also why no wall ties or wall starter?
What are wall ties and wall starters 🤔?
@warnerpaul,
Perhaps you should have asked the question, "Is the plastic drainage channel being removed"..? Before questioning the need for protection to said channel....!
And, if you paid attention to the video you would have seen the cavity wall ties being built in as work proceeded...!
And, if you had paid attention when watching the video you would have seen the screw- in wall ties being fixed, to tie the new and old work together.
at 25.32 You can clearly see Alex affixing one of the wall ties...!
Wall starters are NOT the only way to tie-in old walling to new.
I would recommend asking the question before making assumptive guesses about these items.

That was remarkable progress Steve, a very good show as we used to call it a few years ago.
A pleasing video well worth watching, Alex certainly showed all those trolls jut how.
You didn't seem too bad in yourself in this video Steve those old pain killers seem to be working.
Best regards as ever stay safe you two Ken
Cheers Ken 🙏🏽🧱👍🏽

Hi, thanks for another great video. Could you please tell me, is it a different mix for laying blockwork as opposed
to bricks?
Not usually unless you use airated blocks 🧱👍🏽
Nice to have blue sky for a change lads .good job as always 🧱🧱👍
I think spring is really having a go at last Justine 🌥️😬🤞🏼🧱👍🏽
@SteveAndAlexBuild
I really hope so Steve .
How did the pre op go you now booked in for the hip ?💯👍
Hi, I’ve been watching your videos for quite a while. Your work is great. I’m going to do an extension where my neighbours ground level is 350mm higher than mine. Can you comment where the cavity tray would be..as the ground is higher would I need to insulate below the cavity tray..? Can u remember if uve done anything like that in the past n hv a video of it…thx
Hi thanks for watching our channel .
I can’t really comment as I would need to see the job in person . Also the drawings / plans should specify how it should be done 🧱👍🏽
Alex, are the air holes in your pants custom-designed for best air flow - particularly in this better weather (at last!)? The better/good weather improves everything, especially everyone's mood and enthusiasm.......
🤣🤣😎🧱👍🏽
Another good vid lads, just one question why have they gone for blocks on the outer skin? thought like for like facing bricks would have looked better unless they are rendering the whole house.
Render 👍🏽🧱
Hi Steve and Alex, great vid as usual, can I ask is the time laps music what is called “drum and base” being an old fossil I don’t understand this sort of thing? Only ask as my nephew was into that and it sounds similar. Take care ( hard hats chaps, you look better without a bandage) take care.
Hi John, not sure on the music, i pay a music royalty free subscription service so just download anything that might sound ok in our videos 🤙🏾😃🧱👍🏽
Unusual for you boys not to put boards down
Just forgot 😩😩🧱👍🏽
Are they going to render that block work , if so isn't it going to look a bit odd with render going up one side of the window and not the other. Maybe I missed something in the intro.
Rendered 🧱👍🏽
great work chaps as per normal, but the customer needs a word with him self, block work on the outside skin then render why oh why when you can just get bricks and it will look a ton better espically as stsve will be doing th brick work so the finish would have been spot on.... some people have the aesthetics of a baboon lol... keep up the good work lads you can only do what the customer wants
The house brickwork is absolutely awful plus we would never have matched them accurately so the job is an ideal candidate for rendering 🧱👍🏽
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Ah ok fair play, they dont look too bad on camera hence why i tought whats he doing.. im from yorkshire and only like houses built from yorkshire stone imho they look better
@bmwm5550 proper solid natural materials. 👌🏼💪🏼🧱👍🏽
I think Alex may need some new pants 🙂
So does his mum but he won’t part with his favourites 🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
Hi lads, Steve iv got your problem, just had my knee op cancelled for the 4th time, no fault of mine they cocked up got to wait for another appointment,, anyway good job is there any chance of some more vids ????????????

Guys why block and not brick to keep it uniform?
Render 🧱👍🏽
Think Alex needs a new pair of trousers 😂
They are his favourites so he wont part with them 🤣🤣🧱👍🏽
I think the trousers might part with him first 😂
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Is there a go fund me to get him something er... less well ventilated?
@dg2908 😏🧱👍🏽
Nice how you let all the craP GO DOWN DRAIN
What crap
Another "hater -troll" has entered the chat.
F.F.S
Steve, what say you dip into the old trust fund and get Alex a new pair of pants so his arse isn't in the wind.
He won’t part with them 😆😆🧱👍🏽
Why not bricks on outside looks shit not matching brickwork
Render
Chaps,
Unfortunately you come across this type of crud work a lot - mores the pity.
Window fitters and a few dodgy Conservatory gangs were well known for this type of nonsense....
Having said all that, I do remember putting in a few risky lintels myself back in the `dim & distant`..................
I wonder if the plastic drainage channel will crop up in the comments this evening..?😆😆😂😂🤣🤣
👍👍🧱🧱🧱🧱😁😁😯
Drains and hard hats so far 😆😆🧱👍🏽
