Wide Footer here. I go true to size on Jordan 12s. They’re one of the more comfortable silhouettes. Just posting this for other wide footers. Great review!
The story behind these.....I ordered the taxi 12s on eastbay with that little envelope and it was later in the year so before the cherry was even available they sent them to me early because the shoe I ordered was sold out. I had them about a month or so early...my first early release and I loved every minute....can't wait for these
The og is just a work of art, plain and simple. I have my original baby Bred 12's hanging in my car's rear view mirror, and I can't stop thinking about these White/Reds. Thanks for the awesome review and comparison Chris, this is a definite double cop!

The red side panels and the ankle cut are much higher than any retro. Kinda like what they did with the 11s, where they reduced the patent leather to be almost non existent with the 2009 Space Jams.
I hit on the shock drop and I'm thoroughly impressed! Didn't have a pair as a kid so I'm geeked!
This is exactly why I was waiting on your review on these. I knew you'd give a proper comparison to the OG. That back view is startling. OG was definitely taller/thinner. But nonetheless they are gorgeous
Nothing is ever mandatory when it comes to luxury materialistic things, but these Cherry 12s is a can’t miss sneaker 😄. This is one of the OG colorways that Nike never touches, so yeah lol.

This was the pair of Jordans I've ever had back. My mother bought it for me as a present in primary school. Wearing these made me feel like Sonic back then, lol. I hope that I'll be lucky on the 28th.
Wide footer here, I go TTS for AJ12s. Since the base of the shoe is not as snug as AJ1s I can get away with TTS. It's the same for 11s to 13s. With 14s though I go +half size up.
We called them cherries in 09. But then again I also graduated HS in 09 so older generations might hate that name just like how I hate when people call playoff 4’s and playoff 11’s “Breds” 🤷🏾♂️
Glad I copped these in 2009 when a lot of people didn’t want them and they were easy to get because most people wanted the Flu Game 12’s that dropped around the same time. I remember paying $140 retail for them back then for size 10. I gotta say these 2023 retroes look better than the 2009’s, look closer to the OG’s
They wanted the cool grey’s which dropped around the same time… i copped the cherry’s.
@@brem3985 nah, the Space Jams dropped around the time these were out, Cool Greys dropped in 2010. Also, the Flu Games that released around the same time as these had extra things added to it like a sick face on the shoe, which probably made people want them more because they were different 🤷♂️

Not my first Jordan but probably the first where I can recall the sneaker purchase experience with my parents back in 97. I remember jumping off of furniture thinking these would make me fly. Mike was really a super hero. Very happy with my shock drop pair
This was a shoe you had to be there to understand... especially me not being a Jordan shoe fan bcuz i was a Bally/air force 1 type nigga... everybody was on them Js heavy!.... but everybody didn't have these! These mfs sold out so fast! We were part of the 1st school uniform phase in South Louisiana with the khakis and white polo button up or whichever colors your school wore... so in high school in 97' when BV, Vj and Bamm nem walked in school with this shoe on the nostalgia was real.... this was the 1st pair of Jordan shoes besides the 11 concords that my sqad wore I was like damn they 🔥...So I can definitely respect these🔥💯... we was in the projects I was tryna hit canal to cop my Ballys but my Dawgs put in just as much work to cop certain Js and these was onr of them.... Man life so different...

I noticed also that length of the tongue. The recent Air Jordan 12s retros now a days are shorter 'cause I remember my 1997 Jordan 12 Taxi before I laced all the way up and still the logo on the tongue can still be seen whereas the recent ones it's just when you laced up to the second "metal" eyelet, the logo is covered.

These are top of my list for '23 & very excited for them. 12s are one of / if not my favorite OG model and most OG 12s are some of my favorite ever Jordans. Flu games / Breds , Playoffs and Taxis probably my top three ,12s colorways but these are right up there as well. Def need that personal pair , wouldn't mind a double up but could be difficult with the demand on these. Unlikely we ever get back to OG quality and in many cases OG shape as well ; at least doesn't seem anytime soon. But I always prefer a clean / attempt to be close to OG above anything else ; thats why i rate pairs like the Cherry 12s and Playoff 8s etc so highly. Especially as such an OG 12s fan , hard to top these for me out of the 2023 lineup.

@@thepatriotsrage661 all the best grabbing those. The demand on the Cherry 12s is pretty crazy here in the USA so likely a tough one to grab but hope i can get that personal pair. The Playoffs the time is now to grab them , on the resale side they are basically around retail ; so no real incentive for people to make fakes and fairly easy to grab a hold of. Plus still only a year old those '22 Playoff 12s , i luckily grabbed two pairs of Playoff 12s last year from Nike.
I've had a few retros of most of the OG 12s over the years including from their original releases in the 90s. But def in need of a new pair of the Cherry 12s and we are overdue for a Taxi retro as well. OG Taxi 12s been about 10 years since their last release.
Back in the day, no such names for Jordans. They were called by number and color.
I’m a size 10.5-11 flat foot but slightly narrow. My flu games and royalties is a size 10.5 even though the royalties feel pretty tight. My playoffs is size 11. I’m undecided if I should go down half size or tts?

I got blessed today. I walked into DSG to ask about their raffle process because I never did it before and they said we don't do that anymore. They brought out the shoe reserve clipboard, got my information, shoe size and I have a guaranteed pair on release day.
Man, I know they always say that the retros aren't as built as the OGs even though for me looking at old pictures they look the same. But to see a comparison side by side you could definitely tell how vastly different they are.

Considering how expensive retros are these days - that toebox overlay panel should have been corrected. The overall shape is not as bad as the the horrid 'banana boat' shape from 2009 but it's still not quite there yet. These would be nice on a discount but retros almost never go on sale (in common sizes).
OG pair of mine back in 1997, was stole to my locker when I had a scrimmage during my college varsity days.
1st shock drop I have ever hit on and I’m absolutely thrilled with what I got in these. I’ve always wanted an OG color way of 12s and it has always been 🚕 and 🍒 as the ones for me. Can’t wait to get these on feet.

Bought them in 97 in the begging they are stuff and not that comfortable but once you wear them down they are super comfortable besides 13 and 14 one of my favorite AJ for playing basketball.

I’m not too hung up on the shape. First release they didn’t have the molds and advanced techniques they have now. And inflation has forced producers to cut corners so that less materials are used. Thanks for the VID. Always enjoy!!

Mines got delivered Tuesday 10-17-23, I can’t believe I hit on SNKRS app Shock drop! I like them, my 1st pair of 🍒🍒🍒12s the only thing I dislike is the plastic eyelets! We need metal like the OGs
These feel way nicer in hand than my field purple pair. The white leather is noticeably softer than the black on the field purples. They also don't dig into my achilles like those did. Also, the tongue on my field purple pair was mad squeaky once laced up and these aren't nearly as squeaky which is nice. Box slightly different too, absolute W of a sneaker from Nike. Really love to see it.
They also just look so much better in person than they do in pictures. I was super impressed taking them out the box.

Found these yesterday at a Nike store. Was surprised they still had sizes. Might have found my honey hole for releases. Glad I picked these up. Gonna wear them for thanksgiving.

I am 2E. I just go tts for every AJ and it fit very nice.❤ But for all day wear it squished my toes a bit but I’m still good to go 12 and also 12 is more comfortable than 13
yea if you take out the insole you can feel the full zoom air bag under from under you

Great review and fantastic job with the comparisons at the end of the video. Personally I prefer the newer look and shape of the AJ12. Was never a fan of the OG 12s shape and I would be super butt hurt if they went back to that shape AND charged like $250 for it. Would honestly be a deal breaker for me but I know other people prefer the OG look so to each their own.
these came out my when I was in HS and we said the white and red 12's coming out let's go to school late. they use to come out on Fridays so we'd go to the mall and come to school with our shoes on.
Oh dear, my favourite AJ, my favourite colour. My 2009 pair is still sleeping in the box along with other 12s. And I'm gonna get this one, too. Yep, 1/2 size down if you gonna play in them. Definitely gonna play in them, sooner or later.

Wide footer but I stick to my TS because once it break in it’s perfect and when you size up an it breaks in it will feel floppy
This is one of my top favorite Jordan’s of all time color way and all.. I think the Jordan 12 is my favorite silhouette and it’s between these and the taxis for me.. beautiful shoes…

The worst thing that they did not care about AJ12 Retro is the midsole color blocking of the OG. The toe midsole color is painted and it gets peeled off. OG has combined the red color phylon and the white phylon. The Retro always use one bright color based phyon and painted. I hate this. Is this retro the same? BTW, Thank you for the review.

Very interesting episode! I wasn't able to find the white/red 12's back in 1997, we got all the other colours but not this one here in South Africa. I desperately want a pair of these this time around, they are beautiful and remind me very much of the 97's AJ 12's quality and attention to detail. They really were one of a kind...until these came long.
Oh btw my first Air Jordan was also the Jumpman Pro (blue/black) back in 1998. They were insanely comfortable.
