Notice with Ezekiel 38 how Magog is the land of the Scythians. Herodotus locates that in the north of the Black Sea, basically where Ukraine is now. Perhaps with a little of the northern Caucasus added. " If we look at old maps of Anatolia ( Turkey) we see Gog and the land of Magog there. That is not to say in recent years a representation of Gog appeared in other locations, but Ezekiel was calling our attention to the place ( land of Magog ) where Gog lived. He will be the Chief Prince ( Rosh) who will lead a great army against God's people Israel. When I say, Israel I don't mean just Jews. ( that's another subject ) As we read in that 38th chapter; at one point Gog goes north to a people without walled villages. ( you don't go north to attack the state of Israel you would go south.") The scripture is clear, it was the descendants of Esau who would be Israel's mortal enemies until the end. Why? Because those descendants of Esau still believe the birthright was stolen from them by Jacob. I'm not aware where Russia has ever expressed its hate for Israel, but we know who does. It doesn't make sense unless we can put Esau and Russia as one of the same. We know from scripture that God chose Abraham's descendants to be His Oracle People. They were to teach all those Nations around them about the one true God but they failed. The scriptures tell us God isn't like man what He said He will do and it is forever settled in heaven. If God cannot or will not keep His word he is not all-powerful and not trustworthy. As someone has said, " God has to be careful what he says for whatever He says must happen." In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God. The same was Judah the beginning with God. Without Him was not anything made that was made. He spoke it all into existence. I say this to emphasize the importance of when God said his people would be his mouthpiece here on earth it must happen. I think we can assume that out of Israel the greatest message from God to the human race would be preached by a remnant of The Israelites. The Apostle Paul said in Roman’s chapter 11( which is misunderstood: believing this chapter is about the Jews ) has God forsaken Israel? God forbid for I am an Israelite from the tribe of Benjamin. Paul didn't say he was a Jew but was of the politics of Judaism in that he followed the law of Moses. In that chapter, he used the parallelism of Elijah who was a Prophet to the Northern Ten Tribes of Israel. Saying out of Israel God has chosen a remnant just like He did in Elijah's day. Out of this remnant comes the bride we call the Body of Christ the Church. There is nowhere we find a mention of the word "Jew " in this 11th chapter of Roman’s. Confusion comes when Scholars and Teachers don't teach that there is a difference between The House of Israel and the House of Judah. Paul said this remnant would hear but, the rest would be blinded. This remnant will be taking the Gospel to the world throughout their generations. I believe Japheth's descendants have lived among Shem for generations. Moses was told by God to tell the people that if a strange came into the camp and joined them and assimilated among them, they were to accept them as one of their own. That's not to say all of Japheth lived among Israelites, but I do know at some point according to God's word as I understand it it may have happened or will happen. I try not to get too dogmatic about things I don't completely have all the pieces to make a complete picture. There have been many who have said things and written books that will one day with egg on their faces. I'm amazed and dismayed why they don't listen to what God has said where the starting point is when it comes to prophetic events. He clearly said in Isaiah 46: 9-10.
