Hey! I am French and living in France, and I can tell you that both the steak frites and the croque monsieur look totally authentic! They both looked so so delicious !!!! ❤
it was Amazing! now I need to come to periscope and try it! ciao Da Alessio e Jessi
Either American food is similar to French or the plating of that French food is served American style.
@@robertperez4992 well I guess the plating of French food is similar to American style because it is exactly how we would plate it here in France 😀
@Albert American food, besides what you mentioned, are country and soul food. Interestingly, country and soul food menus are almost identical but the latter tastes much better. There are similarities to food in other Anglo-Saxon-majority countries and Germany.
Am I correct to say "entrée" in France doesn't mean the same thing in the US?
The best thing about these two is they have the best smiles wich gives me energy afhter a days work. Positive vibes all over.
Bonjour Jessi et Alessio... LOL I'm French from Quebec with my ancestors from France. My 2 favorite countries that I have visited often are France and Italy. Love both! Love the food, the people, the architecture and the spirit of both places. When I married my American hubby, we did both Paris, which he had never been and Florence. We want so bad to go back. I would move in a heart beat to either of these countries. We love both cultures. Jessi, your French is pretty good! Keep learning more French to bug Alessio.... LOL Je vous aime beaucoup! Raphaelle (Alessio, you can call me Raphaella!) LOL
You two are so real and so is your love. Thank you so much for making these videos. I was crying but, I can't watch you two and not smile. I agree Alessio, no one does anything in life like the Italians. I am one of them so, I know. You are very special and your wife is absolutely beautiful, inside and out. Love, Carmela 💕🌷💞
Every time Alessio put on the beret, his disappointment is the same like a little kid when the parent makes them wear a ridiculous looking outfit/costume. 🤣🤣🤣
The beret makes the stereotypical deprest Frenchman come out of him.
It's like the character Ralphie in the movie A Christmas Story who has to put on the rabbit pajamas his aunt made.
Excellent ! !!!😂😂😂👍
Like a little boy dressed in a sailor suit with the hat doing a tap Dance. Lol
I was rooting for him to make a pigeon nest out of it.
Jessy with her “did you know France was in the World Cup?!” Haha way to kill an Italian’s spirit. Italians take that seriously! 😅😂
WC, Italy-4, France-2, and Italy plays with Italians, French 3/4 are African or other nationality.

As a half Brazilian and half Portuguese professional ballerina I’ve lived and worked all over Europe. I just found your channel and have been binge watching ever since. Mentioning Itália 🇮🇹 missing a Copa again is savage and straight out of my people’s playbook. Brava!👏🏻 I love everything about Itália : the people, the language, art, opera, Marie Taglione, Italian fouettés and the best food in the world. Gli Azzuri and Paolo Rossi 🤔 not so much 😂( he played way before my time but in my família we must know everything about futebol - not just Brazilian but all of the other countries and rivals).
The word “Italia” doesn’t need an accent in Italian.
@ excuse me but I was using my Portuguese keyboard and in this language the accent is present and it automatically corrected. I speak several languages thus have 7 different keyboards on my phone. I know it doesn’t have an accent. Do you speak Portuguese? French? Russian?
You two are so much fun to watch, thank you for taking us on your adventures.
You two are really the cutest couple. Even tho you’re on camera, you feel so real authentic. I’m happy that you’re successful.
Hi Jessi & Alessio !
French here.
The tapenade looks good if slitghtly lightly colored and is indeed a staple of provencal cuisine. However it is pretty much always eaten on bread and not on a sort of pita bread. The pistachio spread isn't a classic but I wouldn't be shocked to be served it.
The croque-monsieur is very typical and looks authentic. Steak-frites is also a classic and both look well made, although the steak would be slightly overcooked for most French people.
The dessert is on a creative side but I wouldn't be surprised to have it in France.
Overall pretty genuine, on the more casual side. In France this is closer to café food than to what we would call an actual restaurant.
I know several people that the only thing they would eat in France is bread and the steak-frites (they aren't very brave) - maybe the French onion soup.
I am Belgian and as Belgian cuisine and French cuisine are quite related both main courses are also part of traditional Belgian cuisine. Steak and croque monsieur looked good and authentic. I have some reservations about the fries. Belgium is the home country of the fries, so although they did look reasonably good, i can easily find better fries in Belgium. If you ever visit Belgium, i am happy to suggest some meals and/or restaurants to try ;-) And you should really compare French cuisine in France with Italian cuisine in Italy.
Alessio's reluctance to admit that the food was good looked like it was KILLING him on the inside.
😅🤣 it was AMAZING I need to be honest
He was honest.
@@fasullodavvero I don't think so, we are reaaaaally fond of Italian cuisine. We're super proud of ours but I don't think we'd even think of comparing them. We just like to eat from both 😊
Thank you to try our french culture. You need to try more dishes from France there are so many. 🇫🇷
From France: With steak frites they will always ask you what sauce to go with it, roquefort, fresh peppercorns or mushroom basically - and tapenade is served with fresh baguette or toasts made of, and couldn’t see the texture but it’s always a thick paste. But looks delicious and otherwise served as over here! The frites look better than most french restaurants, as for some reason mostly limp (at times even undercooked) and not crispy on the outside over here…something I do tend to let them know as it’s so often great apart from! The croque monsieur looks absolutely spot on! And salads on the side have now improved, but here very authentic!
Oh Alessio was so not wanting to like it! But he did reluctantly. Love it!
Amazing video, as always. As a French guy, I would say that the croque monsieur looked pretty authentic. And your accent is pretty good as well, thanks for the effort. Cheers 🇫🇷
Ciao David the food it is Amazing! Now I need to go to Paris
@@ThePasinis Concerning the other dishes, they also look very authentic: steak frites is eaten all over France, and olive tapenade is typical from south of France. You're more than welcome here 🙏🏻
@@davidrigolet I would say that the frites cut is thicker than a typical steak frites in France. That is the only thing I could point to Americanization. But I agree. Looks authentic.
@@foutocraite Very good point :)
@@ThePasinis If you want to try real french food don't go to Paris its, it's a nice city but more for world food. You better should go to Lyon or Bordeaux to taste the real and famous one.
Sur ce bonne soirée.
I so wish for a video of you two meeting Carlo and Sarah. You are both such incredibly lovely couples.🖤
He wants to hate it so bad but he loves it so good 😂
it was soooo GOOD I need to say it
I love French food. I also love Italian food. My country was neutral during the war and I will just continue the tradition. 😂
@@izibear4462 All we ask for is honesty!
At first when I discovered your videos I thought Alessio was funny. Now I know the funniest of you both is definitely Jessi! She has a great sense humour, to put up with some grumpy Italian hubby denying all freshness of french food! Jessi has great taste in food too😉👍😜 Remember Alessio, "France is in the world cup!!" ⚽️🇫🇷🏆🥇and "put your beret on, merci beaucoup!!" 👨🏻🎨😂🤣 For me too "this is my favorite video ever!!" Oh and Jessi, you look beautiful with a beret & great French speaking too!😘🌸
Remember, the French & Italians are more or less cousins. My husband is French & he lived in Rome for his baccalaureate year at the French International School there. We’ve also spent time in Italy & absolutely LOVE it.
🇫🇷 & 🇮🇹 share the same love of food prepared with high-quality ingredients in season; they’re just prepared a little differently. When you think about it, that’s also true of the various regions in each country.
The food looked pretty authentic to me, although steak-frites is often made with matchstick potatoes.
The absolute disappointment on his face and body language after tasting the food because it was good and he had nothing bad to say, love it!
Not good food, the good food is only the Italian one. But eatable food.
As a Frenchman, I was a bit scared when I saw the menu with so many Italian things on it. But the Croque monsieur looked good. The bread looked a bit too... "springy", for a lack of a better word, but I guess it was made with American bread... (no, I won't joke about the yoga mat chemical in US bread). I hope you could try the real thing to compare. I just don't understand why Alessio is so reluctant being positive about French cuisine. Italian cuisine is awesome too. Much love to you both.
@@malgorzatamakowska9910 No, sorry but it's one-sided. It was by going on the internet that I discovered that many Italians hated us. For our part we can hate on a lot of countries but I've literally never heard a French person who didn't like Italy.

@@Grancorbomaybe it is because the italians saw, how you treated german, british and american tourists 😂🤗
@@Siddich Most of the time, these tourists go to Paris so it's not surprising. A large part of Parisians are unbearable. I go there every month and I'm always amazed at how contemptuous and unfriendly they are.
Omg Jessi you look so cute in the beret and your coat!! You don't look ridiculous, you look super cozy and luxurious lol.
France fun facts: French was the official language of England for about 300 years, between 1066 and 1362. After William the Conqueror led the Norman conquest, he introduced Anglo-Norman French to the nation. This was spoken by royalty, aristocrats, and high-powered officials, some of whom couldn’t speak any English! In 1362, however, parliament passed the Pleading in English Act, making English the official language of government
The longest reigning monarch of a country in history remains King Louis XIV aka the Sun King, who ruled France for 72 years and 110 days.
France also has the shortest reigning monarch, King Louis XIX who ruled for...less than 20 minutes.
The camera phone was invented in France in 1997 by an enterprising Parisian called Philippe Kahn. The first photo he took was of his new-born daughter, Sophie, which he sent to his family and friends.
The French coastline adds up to 3427 km, which is basically the distance from Paris to Petra, Jordan!

It is so nice to have a French man make recommendations on where to eat French food. Thank you Alessio!
You guys are adorable to watch! Thanks for being your awesome selfs!🎄🎄
Thx that was funny and wholesome! About the croque monsieur it is what you can eat at Paris and anywhere but that's more of a bistro's croque monsieur. About the steack it was great and the reaction of the hubby showed it all ^^
Bringing out his true culture roots one french meal at a time!
That was great, pretty funny how Alessio was looking around like I hope no one sees me here...meanwhile posted to RUclips 😂🤣 food looked delicious.
so good to see him surrending to french cuisine... I'm french, and I adore french cuisine and italian too... not for the same reasons; french is diversity, italian is simplicity in a perfection sense. love for both...
They both love their carbs and are very strict about them! Their desserts are both so amazing
"This would be a good nest for the pigeons" **holds the beret lovingly**
Ever since the "pigeon storm" in the park from when he tried the bagel he cares about pigeons now lolol
Loved it when alessio was trying to hide how nice the food was with the steak and frites 🤣
That's what's great about being American I have French heritage along with a few other cultures it's great to be proud of so many different things Vive La France
Please, please, PLEASE find a Hungarian restaurant (we have great food btw), I’d LOVE to see both of you try some of my countries foods.
Sammy's Hungarian in Brooklyn is the spot to go to
Honestly I just want some Csorge 😂 I've only ever had some from my friends Oma,,,,, I made some earlier this year and she pointed out all my mistakes 😂😂 they turned out pretty good! I just made the mistake of sugaring them before eating
There hasn’t been a Hungarian restaurant in my area for a long time, unfortunately. The restaurant was run by Hungarian Jews because almost everyone who came here from Hungary was Jewish and not Magyar.
I only know goulash as Hungarian... I think? And it's delicious. Unfortunately not much else accessible
😂😂😂😂😂😂 you guys are just too funny and sweet. And Italian and French people are so dramatic 😂😂😂 but also lovely ❤
As a french, I gotta say your meals looks really authentic, there's a proper chef out there ! But what also strikes me is that some of the meals seem very expensive compared to where I live, a croque-monsieur is a kind of cheap snack in France, it would cost around 3 to 5€ in a backery (with a quality depending on the backery), and arond 8 to 12€ in a restaurant.
Jessi: You need a change (puts on beret)
Alessio: *Why do I hear boss music?*
*HE SAID IT, HE SAID FRENCH IS GOOD!* So Provençal on the menu at 2:20 refers to the region of Provence, which is the southeastern part of France aka Marseille and the French Riviera. Tapenade is specifically a staple of Provençal cuisine. I know you may think the steak frites especially looks Americanized but it's not, that's how it's eaten in Belgium and France. Belgium actually claims they invented it, and some Belgians even consider it as a national dish.
Alessio' s facial expressions are hilarious, u both are so cute 🥰
You guys are adorable, it gives me hope there are genuine couple
French but expatriated in Denmark 21 years ago, it looks okay, but might be an American version of the food. The classical steak frite. Thanks to your wife to make it a little bit more French ! I love it !❤❤❤❤ So funny to see his reaction during the video. By the way my father was Italian 😊
I literally cannot get enough of his chapeau! More please! How about it making a cameo in every video? Vive Le France!
Wear the hat. It looks very natural on you. So cute and appropriate . Love you both. 💙❤️
hahahah Grazie Barbara
Video content and beautiful videography aside, that blue sweater is totally Jessi’s color. It makes you glow! Edit: And of course the Frenchman looks good in a beret 😉😂
So wonderful to see the joy that both of you experienced!!
😅😅😅😅 - Italians know their food - guess what - so do the French. Both cuisines are exquisite! Embrace variety!!!! ❤
Two things:
- French don’t wear beret anymore.
- Yeah you can find thar food (that
looked good) in France, but I wouldn’t say it was the best example of French food.
It’s like I was saying that Italian cuisine is just about pasta and pizza. Well ok wrong example, but you see what I mean. 😂
More seriously great
video.

I want a steak like that, so tender it cuts easily with a butter knife. I just love their chemistry. She pesters him, he pesters her. All fun.
Bonjour, Hello, as You have your starter 'la tapenade' with a bread like focaccia non e vero? , it 's like Italien 'Pesto' or Pistou in french, this one is mixed with more vegetables, but The base is olive and olive oil...also italian Roots...

Me as a French watching the video :
- why are they eating the tapenade with an indian naan and not "normal" bread ?
