You are so right. After buying my first convertible (nowhere near as nice as your A5), I got all kinds of "are you stupid?" type remarks. But once I drove it, I knew I'd never buy a fixed-roof car again.
I have the a5 cab 3 years now and I love it tfsi 2.0 with 270hbp..had an s4 v8 at the same time...one of the cars had to go and it was the s4 🙂 just love the a5 cab
Hey Sebastian! You're right. The A5 Cabriolet is a fantastic car. I've buyed my one 2 years ago and I'm totaly happy day by day. Don't care what the others say, it's wrong and stupid and not necessary. Just drive it, just love it! Greetings from Germany.
As an Audi A5 convertible owner myself of ten years and two generations now (2011 and 2018), I fully recognize what you're saying. The biggest question of course would be: "Who cares what others think about what I like????". It's my life, my money and my interest. If you like it, great, if not, move on. People will always have their opinion about different type of car owners (Corvette and Porche owners just to name a few). Prima video (wederom) verder overigens.
Hi Sebastian Happy NY2022 Because of your 2 videos, I bought a 2.0ltr TDI SLine A5 convertible (in white of course,) and I have called her Bianca I’m not sure if all A5 convertibles do this, but if you hold down the doors open button on the remote key fob, the roof will open automatically and then close, if you hold the the button down (a great touch) here’s to a good summer of roof down weather for all of us fellow cabrio owners and some more videos please Sebastian
I totally understand. Before I got my 2005 a4 cabrio 2.5 diesel (amazing motor), I thought convertible tops were constantly broken, leaky, noisy etc. I was amazed at how practical they were. But the real shock came when I sold it and bought a 2016 a5 cabrio 2.0 tdi. The jump in version was incredible. It felt better, stronger, more sturdy, quieter, firmer y damped and just superior in every way. There's no one who doesn't comment on how beautiful it is and how fun it is to cruise around with the top down. If I had a complaint, it's bigger than 8t needs to be and it seems that there is a little less trunk space.
Hi Sebastian, You are right. You bought it for you and you don’t have to care about what the other say. I have a VW EOS which is 14 years old and I’m looking for the next one. The A5 is on top of my list with 2 other germain convertibles (4 série from BMW and Eclass from Mercedes). It will be a convertible. I did not have to many comments when I baught the EOS but I had one brother who also baught a convertible and a friend too. They realized it was possible to enjoy this kind of car. Thank for your vidéos.
My wife has the 2010 convertible and I have the 2010 coup. We get nothing but good vibes from people wish to have the same hahaha!!! Little do they know our cars where half the price of the boring cars hahaha!!!!
Hi, thanks for the very nice videos!!! Do you think that €20.000 for a 2013 one with 75km, a 1.8tfsi automatic gearbox, seats in full leather that looks like new, could be a good deal?
Do you think it's possible to take a toddler on the back seat for some shorter trips with open roof? Or is it too windy then for small kids? Thanks for the videos!
I would say it’s possible (in a child seat of course) if you drive in and around town. Perhaps some country roads if you drive slowly. Keeping the windows up makes a little difference too. Highways are out of the question sitting in the back.

Love your video. You just helped me make up my kind to get one in 2025. Although I already have a Cadillac XTS, I always wanted a convertible.

Have you ever had any issue with water in the rear footwell of the car ?
Never.
You can definitely leave your A5 outside in the winter. The roof is built for that. No problem imo.
