Poor guy, he basically bought a golf :D No engine, no tranny, no AWD.

The newest A3 Cab is better. Drives better, looks better and being smaller means it fits the roads and parking spaces better. It cruises beautifully and is lovely and quite. It can still accommodate two in the back and has a reasonable boot/trunk. Each to their own I suppose.

We are 3 days away from buying a 2016 A5. I’m getting a little nervous about my research that states they all leak oil from the timing chain upper gasket and elsewhere. What has been your experience? Hope to hear soon !!

Hier 2x grote reparaties aan moeten doen van gemiddeld €1300 per beurt. Stel dat ik er nu een koop uit 2012 met 115.000km, zou ik dat dan weer kunnen verwachten denk je?

I recently bought an Audi A5 Cabriolet and found this video very accurate. I have recently bought a 2012 model in the UK - specifically the Audi A5 Cabriolet Quattro SE 2L petrol automatic and think this is a brilliant car. Sebastian- your video is spot on. This is such a fun car and is very practical. As you suggest, the build quality is very good. The engine is very smooth. The only tell-tale that mine a 10 year old car is the leather is a little worn, but I plan to get that fixed. I have the SE version and the ride is not at all harsh. The back seats are fine for short journeys with adults and fine for any journey for my 10-year old daughter. I bought a well specified version (in fact the list price of the options for the original car was more than I paid for the car second hand). In terms of my recommended options: - The acoustic roof is brilliant. With the roof up it is very quiet and not really different to a non-cabriolet car. - My MMI is fine, but the car I have is fitted with an aftermarket upgrade that allows me to use Apple CarPlay and Android Auto so I simply plug in my phone to the USB in the glove box and I have Waze, Spotify and any Apple CarPlay apps I need. I'd recommend that people consider this as an option. - Strongly recommend the B&O upgrade. Sound quality is awesome. I have the "Symphony version" - The Adaptive Xenon-Plus headlights work brilliantly just as well as on a 2020 vehicle. - I recommend the advanced key option so you don't need to put the key in the ignition (although this only seems to work with one key). - Heated back seat option is fun for the children. I don't really like the "air skirt" and tend not to use as it is a little bit noisy. Perhaps this will change in winter! There is OK luggage space, but If you put too much luggage in the back the roof won't retract, but with careful packing the luggage space is fine for standard family trips. I've never had a leak - but Sebastian I would not put this through a UK car wash! I've had non-convertible BMW 335i Coupe, Audi S4 Avant and Mini Cooper John Cooper Works in the past but this is the most fun car I have ever had, and puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. In 2022 for around £10k in the UK consider this a bargain. I hope in 2022 Sebastian you are still enjoying you Audi A5 Cabriolet.

Hi Sebastian, You are right. You bought it for you and you don’t have to care about what the other say. I have a VW EOS which is 14 years old and I’m looking for the next one. The A5 is on top of my list with 2 other germain convertibles (4 série from BMW and Eclass from Mercedes). It will be a convertible. I did not have to many comments when I baught the EOS but I had one brother who also baught a convertible and a friend too. They realized it was possible to enjoy this kind of car. I‘m thinking of getting a Cabrio as Second car. At moment: 1. 650i XDrive <- Perfect look but 4.4 biturbo V8 could be really expensive 😂 2. A5 or S5 2.0 TDI or 3.0 TFSI <- better fuel economy but not that sexy 3. E-Class Cabrio no specific engine at the moment <- the most boring one 😅 I want a big Cabrio and I have really to think about what I should do

Thanks for the honest review, exactly what I was looking for, and likely a deciding factor- rattling squeaky door cards and seat belt tensioners are nay for me :/ I think from the convertible standpoint, E class is the best with its air pocket feature and rock-solid build quality, shame about their flashy design though...

Hey, bedankt voor je video. Weer een stapje dichter bij de “grote beslissing”. Ik heb nog nooit een cabrio gehad, maar ik overweeg nu toch een A5 cabrio. Schitterend. Maar ook een paar vragen. 1. Ik heb geen garage of carport, wel een oprit. Kan het dak tegen de weersomstandigheden als ie altijd buiten staat? 2. Is het een geschikte vakantie auto? Weinig kofferruimte, okee. Maar hoe rij je 1000 km om een Duitse snelweg? Tot welke snelheid rij je met open dak? En welke nadelen kleven aan deze cabrio als reiswagen? Alvast bedankt.

Hi Sebastian Happy NY2022 Because of your 2 videos, I bought a 2.0ltr TDI SLine A5 convertible (in white of course,) and I have called her Bianca I’m not sure if all A5 convertibles do this, but if you hold down the doors open button on the remote key fob, the roof will open automatically and then close, if you hold the the button down (a great touch) here’s to a good summer of roof down weather for all of us fellow cabrio owners and some more videos please Sebastian

Hey Sebastian! You're right. The A5 Cabriolet is a fantastic car. I've buyed my one 2 years ago and I'm totaly happy day by day. Don't care what the others say, it's wrong and stupid and not necessary. Just drive it, just love it! Greetings from Germany.

You are so right. After buying my first convertible (nowhere near as nice as your A5), I got all kinds of "are you stupid?" type remarks. But once I drove it, I knew I'd never buy a fixed-roof car again.

I totally understand. Before I got my 2005 a4 cabrio 2.5 diesel (amazing motor), I thought convertible tops were constantly broken, leaky, noisy etc. I was amazed at how practical they were. But the real shock came when I sold it and bought a 2016 a5 cabrio 2.0 tdi. The jump in version was incredible. It felt better, stronger, more sturdy, quieter, firmer y damped and just superior in every way. There's no one who doesn't comment on how beautiful it is and how fun it is to cruise around with the top down. If I had a complaint, it's bigger than 8t needs to be and it seems that there is a little less trunk space.

My wife has the 2010 convertible and I have the 2010 coup. We get nothing but good vibes from people wish to have the same hahaha!!! Little do they know our cars where half the price of the boring cars hahaha!!!!

nice video. I own a 2010 a5 cabriolet in Candy Apple Red! it is a chick magnet for sure. I had to replace the engine due to failed tensioner pulley. But since that incident the car is a cool as the other side of the pillow! Love it!
