Also the main why some theorized why Azhdaha might be because in chinese (original) version he is called a sovereign, also he and Zhongli already stated that he's really ancient, older than mountains on teyvat and additionally he keeps calling Zhongli an 'usurper'. However it still up to HYV if they want expand Azhdaha's lore more to be a sovereign or made him end up like Scylla, who also an ancient dragon but not a sovereign.
Guy we can’t relying theories that not yet confirmed so for now Neuvillette and apep are the only canon dragon sovereign dvalin and azhdaha is still questioning bc some point zhongli call azhdaha an elemental being

Unfortunately our desire to see Neuvi's dragon form most probably wont happen, because as prophesised from the book in Enkanomiya, he was born in human form, he never had a dragon form.

@K1ngBard yes. First teyvat was ruled by 7 soverigns. Then celestia/heavenly principles/usurper king came and defeated and stolen power of dragon soverigns. Apep is dendro dragon soverign. Other soverigns are not confirmed but they can be azhdaha,etc (not confirmed yet).

Just to make something clear with the lore we have at this point : Neuvi can't be the hydro archon. Celestia took the power of the 7 dragons to forge the gnosis and impose their gods. Gods (archons) can be from different species before they ascend (for exemple Venti was a wind elemental or Zhongli an adeptus) but it wouldn't make any sense for Celestia to ascend a reincarnation of a dragon sovereign, it would be giving back the power to your ennemi. (I allowed myself to explain that because it's lore we're supposed to have at this point in the story if we dive a bit in the books of Enkonomia so it's not really spoiler and it won't come back as clear in the rest of the quest ^^")
@9:43- LOL not even 10 minutes in haha. How's that for a start? Lol. Yeah one of the most badass scenes, and it's only just started haha. There was foreshadowing that Neuvillette was the Dragon sovereign. Biggest being the rain or rather when it DID rain without reason (hence the title of the part of Fontaine's archon quest was alluding to him). Like it rained after Navia chewed him out for not caring enough. Also did you EVER notice how there was NO vision on him? That was something I noticed pretty quickly. Also, his ears are pointed. Most char ears have regular ears. Also, the final clue, that epic scene of him controlling the Primordial Sea like that, no ordinary person could do that. Now I can reveal that one of the major spoilers from Lantern Rite's 'epilogue' was it does reveal Neuvillette's identity as a Dragan Sovereign. There could have been a point in that scene when Neuvillette and Zhongli could have met, but suspiciously, Zhongli 'wasn't' around when Furina and Hu Tao first meet. There's speculation that Zhongli is very much aware of who Neuvillette was and for very good reasons wanted to avoid him. The Traveler is quick to pick up on this. I want to mention something that's not connected to this quest, but it's my speculation on WHY out of all the Dragon Sovereigns (out of the ones we've met so far), that they made the Hydro Dragon playable. In Chinese Mythology, it was said that Eastern Dragons originated from the water, so they are very 'water-based', unlike European Dragons that are 'fire based'. Like all of the major Chinese rivers are said to be created by dragons. It would explain why their appearance is so streamlined, thin, and wavy. But yeah this is all PURE speculation on my part and I could be wrong, I just love thinking about these things since Hoyo based A LOT of things in Genshin on lore and mythology of our world. *Sees the end of the video* BUM BUM BUUUUUMMMM!!!! LOL. How's that for a cliffhanger? This was the last part of Act IV, so imagine being players who go this part and had to wait another month before Act V dropped haha. Hey, KB, before you do Act 5, I would suggest at the very least you do Neuvillette's story quest, it's a nice little set up for Act 5. Also so many people did NOT like Furina during this time, but I always liked her and felt bad. I won't say why because of spoilers, but I am looking forward to your reaction to Act 5. As for me, by this point, it's pretty clear that as far as the Overarching story goes that as things are shaping up, Celestia and the Heavenly principles are looking to be the Main Antagonists of this game. I could be wrong of course, but what they did to the Sovereign Dragons of this world was wrong.
Oh my goodness the lore here! What is pretty crazy to me is how much has been revealed and connected with this part of the archon quest. Just with the book from enkanomiya and Neuvillette and the sovereign dragons in general is pretty wild. I can see Zhongli knowing that for sure, he is the smartest person ever and seems to know everything so it makes sense. I like that theory on why they made the hydro dragon playable, super interesting! I will for sure do his story quest before I continue :) I can see who people were upset with Furina. I really like Furina and feel bad for her but she is not helping herself by seeming to not have a plan to save Fontaine. Anyway the primordial one defeated the dragon king and the rest were either killed or exiled and they had their elemental authority striped away, that authority was later given to the archons but that's another story In Enkanomiya there's a book called "before sun and moon" that tells this story, and it was believed that the dragon sovereign of water was going to reincarnate as a human... Now I can see why everyone wanted me to ready it especially now the sovereign dragons are important here in the form of Neuvillette. Boy oh boy everything is connected and continues to impress. I can't wait to hear more about the lore!!!!
I love the way Wriotheslay checks Neuvillette out (19:05) when he shows up. He went straight for the cake. I can literally see on his face “If the world wasn't ending and you didn't have to save us now… deam I will see you tonight honey” And the playful banter full of suggestions. Like shuttle masked encouragement asking Nuvi if he got this and if he is gonna use “that”. Which he confirmed with a nod. He must have known. He knew of his identity and they must have discussed it beforehand. Just like Sonnenschein pointed out in his comment Wrio asked for Nuvi when the gate broke not for Furina. And they must have been super close for Nuvi to feel safe to reveal his identity. Becouse I don't think Duke would be satisfied and confident in Nuvi so much with a simple “if anything happens call and all will be well” if he didn't know the truth. Meanwhile, Chlorine is just feeling the tension between those two and is just standing there like “I'm not even gonna ask.” The “legal codices” joke is referenced in Act V of The Lantern Rith You didn't play when Nuvi comes to Wrio in a flashback and gives him tea and an ancient stone tablet with laws of old age as a souvenir, which is basically legal codices written on a stone. On a non-shipper note, I absolutely adore Arlecchino in this quest. The TSUNAMI of passive-aggressiveness searing from her every second is so on point I felt like I was being scolded. The VA cooked so hard and delivered. The punctuation, and pauses in this whole scene (24:12) if gotta be my favorite lines from the whole quest. I love the way she talks to Furina like a teenager who is desperately trying to prove he's a capable and self-sufficient adult. Especially when Furina refuses to elaborate further she goes into full parent mode exactly like a parent does when you challenge the ‘my house, my rules’ ideology. “Oh so you want to play, fine let's play. So you want to do this… so you surely thought of this… and have a plan for this and that… and you are prepared for this and this too… no? Shame. But surely you understand this right…? Really? No? Hmmmmmm.” it's such a parental behavior. Just listing all the things they don't have a clue about or haven't even thought about when they pretend to have it all under control. You can tell she has raised MANY children and learned how to do it correctly and efficiently. With the way she is able to switch between “father” behavior when things need to be discussed and “dad” behavior when she is praising and rewarding efforts. I admire her greatly.

They are really close and inform each other on important things, like the primordial sea water at the bottom of the prison. I love Arlecchino in this archon quest too! I actually like her more than Furina lol Don't get me wrong, I love Furina but she just seems to not be doing anything an actual archon would be doing! It is driving me nuts, Neuvillette is doing so much more than she is and he's not the archon. Furina has something going on with her and I am nervous to find out because it's just not adding up right now. Arlecchino is really amazing honestly and she seems to actually care for not only her kids but for the whole of Fontaine which is something we really haven't seen with any of the Harbingers and it was a nice change.

I remember this part fondly. All the new information and a confirmation of the so heavily hinted secret of Neuvillette. I was squealing inside. It was nice to relive it again.
"Dont get Hit" Actually Wriothesley says in His Voice Lines that If He wants to be Sure If He is Fontainian or Not, He Takes a dip in the primordial sea😂 And again a hint that Neuvillette and Wriothesley are closer to each other, that i even didnt realize when i played the Quest. Wriothesley tells us to find Neuvillette, Not Furina there Archon! Something you would normaly do in this case. So Wriothesley either showed Neuvillette the Gate and Neuvillette, who Trusts Wriothesley dearly told him everything about who He is and to call him If anything happens or Wriothesley Just Had His own suspicions and rather Trusts Neuvillettes power than Furinas. Considering Sigewinnes upcoming Storyquest that already got leaked, i rather suspect the First one.

For the context relating to the Dragon thing. ⚠️ //Spoiler Warning//⚠️ So since time immemorial there were 7 dragon sovereigns they are the Original Strongest Elemental Dragons who ruled teyvat, right before the 7 archons took over, fontaine before has the Hydro Dragon Sovereign bringing Neuvillette as the Successor.
It all makes sense now why everyone was telling me that if I were to read only one book in this game it has to be the book Before the Sun and Moon! I just reread it after learning of this about Neuvillette and OH MY GOSH!!!! This game just continues to blow my mind and to put a book hidden in Enkanomiya like that revealing Neuvillette without naming him is wild lol wow
I'm not sure if you did the epilogue of Lantern Rite or avoided it for spoiler reasons (i have a vague memory of watching it asdfhsgd) But the last part was funny because Neuvi tried to join the bet banter from this act by actually giving Wrio a legal codex souvenir in Lantern Rite 🤣 I love how Freminet dropped the biggest hint about the hydro dragon back in act 1. Then act 2 teasing it when it was raining for days because Neuvi was sad then suddenly became sunny after he made peace with Navia at the end. Elemental dragon like Apep! (Nahida quest2 convo) I believe Dvalin and Azhdaha too, but this needs a bit more confirmation if same sovereigns or just elemental dragons 🤔 Dragon sovereigns we learned from Enjou back in Enka (i miss Enjou, he's funny 🤣) Then "Before Sun and Moon" book told us about how the Primordial One stole the dragons' powers to make the human civilization of Teyvat
To this day, Neuvillette is like the character in the game where his gameplay power and his lore actually matches. He's so powerful, perhaps even the strongest one, that even without constellations that people could get 3 stars on some of the hardest floors of the spiral abyss with ONLY using Neuvillette. Neuvilette being able to whop Childe in one hit (most characters can't do that even if it's a surprise attack) and sealing the primordial sea were used as foreshadowing in the story to demonstrate that Neuv is really someone out of the ordinary
I loved the lore drop we got this quest. And the fact that we were working with everyone. Apep and Neuvi are the only two confirmed Sovergins but since the nation matches the dragons elements and some other lore bits, people think Azhdeha might also be an og Sovereign and that Dvalin might be like Neuvi and be a reborn one. Neuvi looks human because of specific circumstances. That being said, if Dvalin is the Anemo dragon, then Venti giving him what he called “the power of the Anemo Archon” at the end of Mondstadt AQ is sus. The again Venti is our lovable gremlin sus Archon
So much lore just in this part of the quest as well, it is wild!! It is very curious to know that there are other sovereign dragons out there but we don't know who they are. So many questions as always lol Venti is very very sus because he has answers to something big but won't say...that has to be revealed at some point right?
To understand better what was revealed, you have to go back to the lore in Enkanomiya and the books that are found there. What we know so far is that dragons were the original inhabitants of Teyvat until a being from outside arrived and entered into a war with the dragons (remember what Apep says in nahida's quest). The objective was supposedly making Teyvat a proper environment for humans. The seven dragon sovereigns that ruled the dragon race are intrinsically connected with the elements of Teyvat - again, remember what Nahida mentions in her quest would happen if Apep lost control. The original being from outside won the war against the dragons and stole their "authority" and gave them to the seven gods that won the archon war, the current seven archons. And I'll leave it here not to spoil the rest! We've only met 2 sovereign dragons, Apep and Neuvillette. People have speculated if Azdaha might be the geo one and Dvalin the anemo, but this is unconfirmed in the story so far (they're just the only two other dragons we've met)

In this archon quest we learn that Neuvillette is the reincarnation of the Hydro sovereign dragon from the ancient past.
The reason neuvillette is a human and another typical case of insane genshin foreshadowing is , back in enkanomiya there is a book that says that because primordial baptysmal vishaps began using different elements after evolving , like cryo and electro ones in enkanomiya , vishaps have lost their purity and this is why next hydro sovereign would be reborn into human form. Its always good to see how hoyo really cares about this world and they gave us a lore reason as to why he is a human intead of just adding him into the game as a husbando for no reason because he would sell better
Theirs also the enkanomiya event too back then about the vishaps. Which kinda solidifies that speculation. Also knowing the community, unless said husbando has good story, good personality, VA AND OP asf. they would pull
Before the archons system is established, Teyvat was ruled by dragons long before the heavenly principles established the rules. The one with Nahihi was Apep the dragon sovereign of Dendro that lost her reasoning because she was corrupted by forbidden Knowledge, Neuvillete is one the ones surviving to this day. Then after the heavenly principles came they know established the Seven, one each nation was ruled by an archon and their gnosis are the symbol of their connection to celestia. You can say even without a vision, he can manipulate the power of hydro; he's also our first playable sovereign. Also, since you have Neuvillete theirs a voiceline about it, feel free to check at your own time and after you finished the archon quest, their will be some changes. I won't spoil the details of course. After this, please react to the epilogue of the Lantern Rite for this year since, it requires you to finish archon quest but it's not recommended but for best experience its best that you get acquainted. A shame too since you skipped that for spoiler reasons, you missed a neat item.
the usurper is the primordial one the progenitor god he stole the power from the sovereigns and gave it to the 7 gods who became the 7 archons This doesn't mean Neuvillette is part archon it means the hydro archon has a piece of his power Neuvillette and Apep are sovereigns, but Neuvillette is a reincarnation and the fact that he has a human form is due to what was revealed in Enkanomiya "after so many experiments done to the Vishaps they are now no longer pure and therefore it is said that the hydro sovereign cannot be reincarnated in his pure form and as a result he will take the form of a human" or something like that
Not sure if saying Neuvillette is part Archon is right. It's more like, the dragon sovereigns used to have 100% of their power. But when the First Usurper came, he stole a part of the dragons power and gave that power to the Archons. So the dragon sovereigns now only have 50% of their original power left and the Archons are using the stolen 50% of the dragons power (numbers are random to explain easier, it is never said how much of their powers got stolen)
You mean the Archons are part Dragon Sovereign instead of the other way around. The power and authorities over the elements in Teyvat are originally theirs after all. Celestia/The Heavenly Principles/The Usurpers just stole a part of their power. XD The Archons are under Celestia'a rule, the Dragon Sovereigns like Apep and Neuvi, however, are not. Apep already mentioned this so it's not necessarily a spoiler but back then, before the Usurpers (that's Celestia) came along, the Dragons lived on Teyvat. They were essentially the OG residents. And the 7 elemental Dragon Sovereigns, the planet's most powerful beings, ruled over the lands. You could say they were like the Archons of their lands before the Archons and humans even became a thing. But unlike Archons, they have 100% complete authority over their respective elements since they are natives of Teyvat and pure elemental beings. As they are now though< they don't have complete authority anymore, only a part of it, because Celestia stole and gave away part of that power and authority over to Archons. Anyway, sorry for being all 🤓 on you. It's hard for me to shut up about Genshin's ancient lore once I get started. It's all just so fascinating to me. I love it so much lol. And I'm really glad you actually pay attention closely to the story and lore. Not a lot of streamers/CCs do unfortunately... which I find a bit irksome when watching their videos soemtimes. But some of your commentary was pretty spot on actually (and also entertaining). Its kind of refreshing to say the least. XD Also once again, seeing Neuvi in action makes me giddy lmao. I love a bunch of characters in this game and he's not even my #1 favorite, but he's the only one I'd simp for. 😅

@@K1ngBard There are still some things about the Gnoses that aren't revealed to you yet. You'll find out at the end of the Fontaine Archon quest. To avoid spoilers, All I can say is that the Gnoses have nothing to do with the Dragons' Elemental Authorities. It's still unclear what the hek the Tsaritsa is planning to do with them. All we know so far about the Gnoses are: - That they are proof of an Archon's status - That they can be used to connect directly to Celestia - They can grant an Archon a power boost and give them a divine ability to defend their land - they share some similarities with visions, like representing the user's ambitions amd obsessions. Basically Visions are like "primitive" versions of a Gnosis. - that thing you'll find about soon :) Other than these, the Gnoses and its power are entirely separate from the Elemental Authorities. To learn a teeny bit more about the Gnoses, Elemental Authorities, and some parts of Teyvat's history, I highly recommend reading Neuvillette's Vision story and "A Fontanian Nursery Rhyme" in his character profile after the Archon quest finale. He also has some interesting voice lines about the Archons, and his final ascension voiceline if you wanna check those out after.

Zhongli isn't a dragon in the sense of teyvat dragon, that's his adapti form. the real dragons sovereigns are the original inhabitants of teyvat! so far we know Apep the dendro dragon and Neuvillette hydro dragon. PS: dragons are higher level than archons since the authority that archons has is originally the dragons'. i mean the enkanomiya lore of primordial one who came and defeated the dragons and all

I don't think Ashdaha is one. It's out right stated that Rex made his physical form that of a dragon. He wasn't one to begin with.

@K1ngBard yes. First teyvat was ruled by 7 soverigns. Then celestia/heavenly principles/usurper king came and defeated and stolen power of dragon soverigns. Apep is dendro dragon soverign. Other soverigns are not confirmed but they can be azhdaha,etc (not confirmed yet).

Just to make something clear with the lore we have at this point : Neuvi can't be the hydro archon. Celestia took the power of the 7 dragons to forge the gnosis and impose their gods. Gods (archons) can be from different species before they ascend (for exemple Venti was a wind elemental or Zhongli an adeptus) but it wouldn't make any sense for Celestia to ascend a reincarnation of a dragon sovereign, it would be giving back the power to your ennemi.
(I allowed myself to explain that because it's lore we're supposed to have at this point in the story if we dive a bit in the books of Enkonomia so it's not really spoiler and it won't come back as clear in the rest of the quest ^^")
@9:43- LOL not even 10 minutes in haha. How's that for a start? Lol. Yeah one of the most badass scenes, and it's only just started haha.
There was foreshadowing that Neuvillette was the Dragon sovereign. Biggest being the rain or rather when it DID rain without reason (hence the title of the part of Fontaine's archon quest was alluding to him). Like it rained after Navia chewed him out for not caring enough. Also did you EVER notice how there was NO vision on him? That was something I noticed pretty quickly. Also, his ears are pointed. Most char ears have regular ears. Also, the final clue, that epic scene of him controlling the Primordial Sea like that, no ordinary person could do that.
Now I can reveal that one of the major spoilers from Lantern Rite's 'epilogue' was it does reveal Neuvillette's identity as a Dragan Sovereign. There could have been a point in that scene when Neuvillette and Zhongli could have met, but suspiciously, Zhongli 'wasn't' around when Furina and Hu Tao first meet. There's speculation that Zhongli is very much aware of who Neuvillette was and for very good reasons wanted to avoid him. The Traveler is quick to pick up on this.
I want to mention something that's not connected to this quest, but it's my speculation on WHY out of all the Dragon Sovereigns (out of the ones we've met so far), that they made the Hydro Dragon playable. In Chinese Mythology, it was said that Eastern Dragons originated from the water, so they are very 'water-based', unlike European Dragons that are 'fire based'. Like all of the major Chinese rivers are said to be created by dragons. It would explain why their appearance is so streamlined, thin, and wavy. But yeah this is all PURE speculation on my part and I could be wrong, I just love thinking about these things since Hoyo based A LOT of things in Genshin on lore and mythology of our world.

Hey, KB, before you do Act 5, I would suggest at the very least you do Neuvillette's story quest, it's a nice little set up for Act 5.
Also so many people did NOT like Furina during this time, but I always liked her and felt bad. I won't say why because of spoilers, but I am looking forward to your reaction to Act 5. As for me, by this point, it's pretty clear that as far as the Overarching story goes that as things are shaping up, Celestia and the Heavenly principles are looking to be the Main Antagonists of this game. I could be wrong of course, but what they did to the Sovereign Dragons of this world was wrong.
Oh my goodness the lore here! What is pretty crazy to me is how much has been revealed and connected with this part of the archon quest. Just with the book from enkanomiya and Neuvillette and the sovereign dragons in general is pretty wild. I can see Zhongli knowing that for sure, he is the smartest person ever and seems to know everything so it makes sense.
I like that theory on why they made the hydro dragon playable, super interesting!

Ok so... At the beginning of time... Ok so before the beginning of time, before there was a sun and a moon
Teyvat had 7 dragon sovereigns, under the command of the dragon king they ruled over the Vishaps and the seven regions
Then came the first and waged war against the sovereigns for the control of Teyvat. To fight that war, the primordial one, divided itself into 4 shades, of these I know one of them is the shade of time... Anyway the primordial one defeated the dragon king and the rest were either killed or exiled and they had their elemental authority striped away, that authority was later given to the archons but that's another story
In Enkanomiya there's a book called "before sun and moon" that tells this story, and it was believed that the dragon sovereign of water was going to reincarnate as a human... And... That's Neuvillette

I love the way Wriotheslay checks Neuvillette out (19:05) when he shows up. He went straight for the cake.

And the playful banter full of suggestions. Like shuttle masked encouragement asking Nuvi if he got this and if he is gonna use “that”. Which he confirmed with a nod.
He must have known. He knew of his identity and they must have discussed it beforehand. Just like Sonnenschein pointed out in his comment Wrio asked for Nuvi when the gate broke not for Furina. And they must have been super close for Nuvi to feel safe to reveal his identity. Becouse I don't think Duke would be satisfied and confident in Nuvi so much with a simple “if anything happens call and all will be well” if he didn't know the truth.
Meanwhile, Chlorine is just feeling the tension between those two and is just standing there like “I'm not even gonna ask.”
The “legal codices” joke is referenced in Act V of The Lantern Rith You didn't play when Nuvi comes to Wrio in a flashback and gives him tea and an ancient stone tablet with laws of old age as a souvenir, which is basically legal codices written on a stone.
On a non-shipper note, I absolutely adore Arlecchino in this quest. The TSUNAMI of passive-aggressiveness searing from her every second is so on point I felt like I was being scolded. The VA cooked so hard and delivered. The punctuation, and pauses in this whole scene (24:12) if gotta be my favorite lines from the whole quest.
I love the way she talks to Furina like a teenager who is desperately trying to prove he's a capable and self-sufficient adult. Especially when Furina refuses to elaborate further she goes into full parent mode exactly like a parent does when you challenge the ‘my house, my rules’ ideology. “Oh so you want to play, fine let's play. So you want to do this… so you surely thought of this… and have a plan for this and that… and you are prepared for this and this too… no? Shame. But surely you understand this right…? Really? No? Hmmmmmm.” it's such a parental behavior. Just listing all the things they don't have a clue about or haven't even thought about when they pretend to have it all under control.
You can tell she has raised MANY children and learned how to do it correctly and efficiently. With the way she is able to switch between “father” behavior when things need to be discussed and “dad” behavior when she is praising and rewarding efforts. I admire her greatly.

I love Arlecchino in this archon quest too! I actually like her more than Furina lol Don't get me wrong, I love Furina but she just seems to not be doing anything an actual archon would be doing! It is driving me nuts, Neuvillette is doing so much more than she is and he's not the archon. Furina has something going on with her and I am nervous to find out because it's just not adding up right now.
Arlecchino is really amazing honestly and she seems to actually care for not only her kids but for the whole of Fontaine which is something we really haven't seen with any of the Harbingers and it was a nice change.

So since time immemorial there were 7 dragon sovereigns they are the Original Strongest Elemental Dragons who ruled teyvat, right before the 7 archons took over, fontaine before has the Hydro Dragon Sovereign bringing Neuvillette as the Successor.
It all makes sense now why everyone was telling me that if I were to read only one book in this game it has to be the book Before the Sun and Moon! I just reread it after learning of this about Neuvillette and OH MY GOSH!!!! This game just continues to blow my mind and to put a book hidden in Enkanomiya like that revealing Neuvillette without naming him is wild lol wow

I love how Freminet dropped the biggest hint about the hydro dragon back in act 1. Then act 2 teasing it when it was raining for days because Neuvi was sad then suddenly became sunny after he made peace with Navia at the end.

To this day, Neuvillette is like the character in the game where his gameplay power and his lore actually matches. He's so powerful, perhaps even the strongest one, that even without constellations that people could get 3 stars on some of the hardest floors of the spiral abyss with ONLY using Neuvillette. Neuvilette being able to whop Childe in one hit (most characters can't do that even if it's a surprise attack) and sealing the primordial sea were used as foreshadowing in the story to demonstrate that Neuv is really someone out of the ordinary
I loved the lore drop we got this quest. And the fact that we were working with everyone.
Apep and Neuvi are the only two confirmed Sovergins but since the nation matches the dragons elements and some other lore bits, people think Azhdeha might also be an og Sovereign and that Dvalin might be like Neuvi and be a reborn one. Neuvi looks human because of specific circumstances.
That being said, if Dvalin is the Anemo dragon, then Venti giving him what he called “the power of the Anemo Archon” at the end of Mondstadt AQ is sus. The again Venti is our lovable gremlin sus Archon
So much lore just in this part of the quest as well, it is wild!! It is very curious to know that there are other sovereign dragons out there but we don't know who they are. So many questions as always lol
Venti is very very sus because he has answers to something big but won't say...that has to be revealed at some point right?
To understand better what was revealed, you have to go back to the lore in Enkanomiya and the books that are found there. What we know so far is that dragons were the original inhabitants of Teyvat until a being from outside arrived and entered into a war with the dragons (remember what Apep says in nahida's quest). The objective was supposedly making Teyvat a proper environment for humans. The seven dragon sovereigns that ruled the dragon race are intrinsically connected with the elements of Teyvat - again, remember what Nahida mentions in her quest would happen if Apep lost control. The original being from outside won the war against the dragons and stole their "authority" and gave them to the seven gods that won the archon war, the current seven archons. And I'll leave it here not to spoil the rest! We've only met 2 sovereign dragons, Apep and Neuvillette. People have speculated if Azdaha might be the geo one and Dvalin the anemo, but this is unconfirmed in the story so far (they're just the only two other dragons we've met)
before everything else, teyvat was ruled by the 7 sovereign elemental dragons and they are the rightful ruler of the lands. the primordial one and celestia came after basically defeating and taking the power from these 7 dragons which are now the core elements which power the gnoses that the archons have. In this archon quest we learn that Neuvillette is the reincarnation of the Hydro sovereign dragon from the ancient past.
The reason neuvillette is a human and another typical case of insane genshin foreshadowing is , back in enkanomiya there is a book that says that because primordial baptysmal vishaps began using different elements after evolving , like cryo and electro ones in enkanomiya , vishaps have lost their purity and this is why next hydro sovereign would be reborn into human form. Its always good to see how hoyo really cares about this world and they gave us a lore reason as to why he is a human intead of just adding him into the game as a husbando for no reason because he would sell better
Theirs also the enkanomiya event too back then about the vishaps. Which kinda solidifies that speculation. Also knowing the community, unless said husbando has good story, good personality, VA AND OP asf. they would pull
Before the archons system is established, Teyvat was ruled by dragons long before the heavenly principles established the rules. The one with Nahihi was Apep the dragon sovereign of Dendro that lost her reasoning because she was corrupted by forbidden Knowledge, Neuvillete is one the ones surviving to this day. Then after the heavenly principles came they know established the Seven, one each nation was ruled by an archon and their gnosis are the symbol of their connection to celestia. You can say even without a vision, he can manipulate the power of hydro; he's also our first playable sovereign.
Also, since you have Neuvillete theirs a voiceline about it, feel free to check at your own time and after you finished the archon quest, their will be some changes. I won't spoil the details of course.
After this, please react to the epilogue of the Lantern Rite for this year since, it requires you to finish archon quest but it's not recommended but for best experience its best that you get acquainted. A shame too since you skipped that for spoiler reasons, you missed a neat item.

Not sure if saying Neuvillette is part Archon is right. It's more like, the dragon sovereigns used to have 100% of their power. But when the First Usurper came, he stole a part of the dragons power and gave that power to the Archons. So the dragon sovereigns now only have 50% of their original power left and the Archons are using the stolen 50% of the dragons power (numbers are random to explain easier, it is never said how much of their powers got stolen)

You mean the Archons are part Dragon Sovereign instead of the other way around. The power and authorities over the elements in Teyvat are originally theirs after all. Celestia/The Heavenly Principles/The Usurpers just stole a part of their power. XD
The Archons are under Celestia'a rule, the Dragon Sovereigns like Apep and Neuvi, however, are not. Apep already mentioned this so it's not necessarily a spoiler but back then, before the Usurpers (that's Celestia) came along, the Dragons lived on Teyvat. They were essentially the OG residents. And the 7 elemental Dragon Sovereigns, the planet's most powerful beings, ruled over the lands. You could say they were like the Archons of their lands before the Archons and humans even became a thing.
But unlike Archons, they have 100% complete authority over their respective elements since they are natives of Teyvat and pure elemental beings. As they are now though< they don't have complete authority anymore, only a part of it, because Celestia stole and gave away part of that power and authority over to Archons.
Anyway, sorry for being all 🤓 on you. It's hard for me to shut up about Genshin's ancient lore once I get started. It's all just so fascinating to me. I love it so much lol. And I'm really glad you actually pay attention closely to the story and lore. Not a lot of streamers/CCs do unfortunately... which I find a bit irksome when watching their videos soemtimes. But some of your commentary was pretty spot on actually (and also entertaining). Its kind of refreshing to say the least. XD

@@K1ngBard There are still some things about the Gnoses that aren't revealed to you yet. You'll find out at the end of the Fontaine Archon quest. To avoid spoilers, All I can say is that the Gnoses have nothing to do with the Dragons' Elemental Authorities.
It's still unclear what the hek the Tsaritsa is planning to do with them. All we know so far about the Gnoses are:
- That they are proof of an Archon's status
- That they can be used to connect directly to Celestia - They can grant an Archon a power boost and give them a divine ability to defend their land
- they share some similarities with visions, like representing the user's ambitions amd obsessions. Basically Visions are like "primitive" versions of a Gnosis.
- that thing you'll find about soon :)
Other than these, the Gnoses and its power are entirely separate from the Elemental Authorities.
To learn a teeny bit more about the Gnoses, Elemental Authorities, and some parts of Teyvat's history, I highly recommend reading Neuvillette's Vision story and "A Fontanian Nursery Rhyme" in his character profile after the Archon quest finale. He also has some interesting voice lines about the Archons, and his final ascension voiceline if you wanna check those out after.

Zhongli isn't a dragon in the sense of teyvat dragon, that's his adapti form. the real dragons sovereigns are the original inhabitants of teyvat! so far we know Apep the dendro dragon and Neuvillette hydro dragon. PS: dragons are higher level than archons since the authority that archons has is originally the dragons'. i mean the enkanomiya lore of primordial one who came and defeated the dragons and all
