Thank you for the useful video! I would like to add a small detail; the 3 studs at the top of the strut look, but actually are not symmetrical, at least for the E70. Trial fit your strut or mark and measure your old strut to avoid pulling it out because it seems not to fit. Thanks!!!
Important part not covered is to always replace the yellow bushing two, one under tower bushing (3 bolts attached) and one on the top. Also it's recommended to replace the whole tower bushing as well.
***one of the best strut videos here if not, the best. eventhough he does not know much the names of the parts, just using ‘this, that, this that, here, there, it, here, there. he shows the actual work. no fancy crap. for that thank you chief.*** did the axle get damaged? or did you think that you had to remove the axle?
For those wondering; Why compress the spring with the shock absorber still installed? The answer is that it is done for more safety when compressing the spring. On the other hand, when it is outside, there is nothing to stop it if the compressors fail, but inside, even if the compressors fail, the spring would not go anywhere, since the entire assembly would still be installed and secured to the SUV. Of course, the work becomes more tedious to perform. In the end, the decision is up to each person. para aquellos que se preguntan; ¿por que comprimir el resorte con el amortiguador aún instalado? la respuesta es que se hace para mas seguridad a la hora de comprimir el resorte. en cambion cuando esta afuera, no ahi nada que lo detenga si fallan los comprimidores, pero dentro aún instalados si fallaran los compremidores el resorte no iría a ninguna parte, pues todo el ensamblado aun estaría instalado y asegurado a la suv. claro, el trabajo se vuelve mas tedioso de realizar. al final, la decision es de cada uno.
You can remove your strut without installing the compressor and install it when it is all removed so you can disassemble and replace your strut on a bench or floor whatever you prefer. Thanks
What were your symptoms of the bad strut? I am getting a clunking sound and slight feel when going over even minor bumps all on the right front side. Thanks for the video
i like this kind of DIY videos that ‘unedited.’ especially the parts where the ‘struggles’ happen. great job man. 👍
Thanks for the video, it helped to watch it before I swapped mine out.
thank you thank you, you saved me five hundred bucks thank you!
You are welcome, l’m glad I can help 👍

Just wondering why are you compressing the spring in the car. Do you think it’s easier to do that when the strut is out of the car

hi
Do you nave a reason or tip why you installed the spring compressor while strut is on board?
Would you kindly share it?
thx

I saw you compressed the spring a little 1st. did it help made the job easier?
What about that ripped boot on sway bar link??
that bushing is gone.

How does he do it? It's gotta be the shoes!
what is wrong with the strut? that is a sport suspension and lasts forever?
Wish they last forever but they don’t. They were making noises especially when I go through a humps so I decided to replace them.

Ahh. You got some skills bruh 😎. Which one is the culprit of the ‘noise?’
What strut assembly did you use?
I just purchased a replacement parts from Amazon.
I have the same car but 4.8 do you have active suspension?
Mine is just a standard suspension and not adapted suspension that you may have.
@@joat843 do you thinks its the same procedure?
*I REPLACED MINE AND IT ONLY TOOK ME 1 1/2 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE JOB.*
Great video but literally zero reason to install the spring compressor on the vehicle to remove the strut. That's a complete waste of time..
