Great video but literally zero reason to install the spring compressor on the vehicle to remove the strut. That's a complete waste of time..

For those wondering; Why compress the spring with the shock absorber still installed? The answer is that it is done for more safety when compressing the spring. On the other hand, when it is outside, there is nothing to stop it if the compressors fail, but inside, even if the compressors fail, the spring would not go anywhere, since the entire assembly would still be installed and secured to the SUV. Of course, the work becomes more tedious to perform. In the end, the decision is up to each person. para aquellos que se preguntan; ¿por que comprimir el resorte con el amortiguador aún instalado? la respuesta es que se hace para mas seguridad a la hora de comprimir el resorte. en cambion cuando esta afuera, no ahi nada que lo detenga si fallan los comprimidores, pero dentro aún instalados si fallaran los compremidores el resorte no iría a ninguna parte, pues todo el ensamblado aun estaría instalado y asegurado a la suv. claro, el trabajo se vuelve mas tedioso de realizar. al final, la decision es de cada uno.

you forgot to put the yellow lower padding.

***just helpful fyi ya’ll*** if you are worried about alignment after doing this, MAKE SURE: the very last nuts to tighten-to-spec are the 3 nuts on top. the alignment will take care of itself, and will go back to where it was b4.

Dude...that's a lot of work to ignore the cheap foam bushing pad that go into the top and inside bottom of the mount. You should have replaced all those foam bushings while you were already there. Now your x5 will still make noise going over rough roads.

How many liters of brake fluid use the car? I have e39 1998

Is it the same location and procedure for a 2002 E39 530d?

Important part not covered is to always replace the yellow bushing two, one under tower bushing (3 bolts attached) and one on the top. Also it's recommended to replace the whole tower bushing as well.

Those plastic elbow inlets are a real bitch to reconnect I have this problem when changing the #6 sparkplug.

Thank you for the useful video! I would like to add a small detail; the 3 studs at the top of the strut look, but actually are not symmetrical, at least for the E70. Trial fit your strut or mark and measure your old strut to avoid pulling it out because it seems not to fit. Thanks!!!
