      The recoil is literally worse than a magnum revolver.
      Edit: I can’t remember why i put this comment here. Maybe I intended it for a different video. Or perhaps it was for a comment now deleted. But to anyone reading this yes believe me I know firsthand that the hk45 is soft shooting and that a magnum revolver will require a lot of hand strength. Stuck with a 10 round HK45 magazine is the only thing that allowed me to register a reliable firearm in Washington DC. In fact, it was a MD state trooper who recommended this pistol given the DC restrictions. If this weapon had a 12 round mag, I wouldn't have been able to register it, so I am extremely thankful to H&K for designing the HK45 the way they did!!!! If someone can tell me a more powerful and reliable 10 round mag pistol out there, I'd like to know.

      I would take the HK 45 (or the HK P30) over the HK USP simply due to ergonomics and modernization. The HK 45 and HK P30 series basically bring the HK USP series into the 21st-century. I know the HK USP is a well-renowned late 20th-century classic but it's a bit dated.

To me it's a plus, also when in a situation where you need to use it, (which I have never had too) with 10 vs 8 I better hit what I am aiming at or I may as well give it up.

    Nice, informative review. I have two of the HK45s. Would like to find the HK45C. 10 rounds of high grain .45 doesn't seem like it should be too much of a concern, particularly if you live in one of the restrictive states, or DC. It's definitely a big gun, but solid and well balanced. I like a hammer fired with a safety and a de-cocker.

    Never shot it, but the USP is probably a bit better than this. That said, I love my HK45T. You wouldn't believe what I paid for it new. Absolute steal and to me it's great. Capacity is a con, but there are 13 round mags available and if you're one of the unfortunate souls to live in a magazine restricted state, the 10 rounds is convenient.

    The hk45 definitely has a cool look to it, but I've always preferred the USP, even to the point I've never bought the former ( but I have shot it on a few occasions). I personally think that HK made too many compromises in updating the design, and essentially left out most of the features that make the USP line such a great series of pistols ( the capacity, the trigger, and the recoil reduction system which not only makes it softer shooting but allows you to shoot
    .45 Super right out of the box).

      The hk 45 is pretty much peiced together other hk pistols. The slide is from the usp elite. The frame is pretty much a p30 frame. The recoil system is the same idea as the compact. And the trigger is a improved usp trigger. Some parts interchange. The early hk45s even came with some match trigger components. (Sear spring and main spring and trigger spring) And the reset on the hk 45 is better than the match trigger on the usp. It's all HK.

Its got the same top strap, same v cut in the slide same A shape. If you don't see the similarity between the slides I don't know what to tell you. Its way closer to a elite slide than it isn't.

      The idea was that because a .45 acp is naturally subsonic from a pistol, it would be a quieter option for sentry removal. The SEAL's apparently deemed that the sound difference wasn't worth giving up a longer barrel and full auto capability.

      @UCxkFI2rdstP790EOBUL6k8A yes. no hk pistol is rated for 45 super officially. Anyone that does, does it at their own risk. I should have clarified that to him. It will shoot it but isn't officially condoned by h&k

    • @TheIvercon
      @TheIvercon 2 года назад

      @DV8 *** 45 super has the same headspace as 45 acp. You are probably thinking about a supported chamber. Hk barrels are have proper support for 45 super and are well made. The recoil springs are the main thing to worry about. Alot of guys that shoot 45 super in usp's up their recoil spring weight. The top expert on 45 super conversions ( look him up and call him on buffalo bores website) doesn't covert hk's because they (full size) dont need it. Like i said its not officially condoned but it will shoot. No one is popping off hundreds of supers through their hk's till they crack a frame. It is to expensive.

    • @TheIvercon

    The "offensive" pistol. Fortunately, I am not easily offended. I actually really like the gun, even if it does look like it was designed by a committee and indeed it was, so it has some redundancy in the controls. These super fun range guns! With the shear massiveness of the gun, and the recently expired patented recoil system, these are great shooting .45 ACPs! The only thing offensive about HK's pistols are the prices.

    Real world USP experience as opposed to fantasy world. Got hired by local SO. They had 10 year old HK USP DAO .40 cal. Mine had a huge seat belt gouge in the plastic grip. The right rear night sight was non functional. The afternoon before I went to work for the first day I was practicing mag changes, since I was switching from Glocks, I noticed something falling out of the barrel. It was the front half of the firing pin. Not confidence inspiring to say the least. Took all you had to fire a full mag due to stupid heavy trigger pull. Finally made SWAT and got a DA/SA. Gun was still shit, only slightly better trigger pull. SO finally went to Glock, due to cost and lack of HK perfromance. Just my personal HK experience. I really like the P7. Just saying.

      @@thephantomzoneboxing well, the FNX is in a completely different size category than the Compact Tactical so you might not be interested in that. But if that form factor is what you're after, I would highly recommend looking into the USP Compact - in my opinion it's a much better gun than the HK45C (especially the trigger). I don't know if you had a chance to shoot it, but if you haven't you should definitely see if there's someplace you can try it out, and I have a feeling you might want to end up trading or selling your HK45CT for it. But that's just my two cents.
      When it comes to practical usable handguns, I don't think HK has ever been able to top their USP line. In my opinion the P30 and the HK45 have been a big disappointment, especially when just a few easy tweaks could have made them into the much better guns they should have been, but HK decided to take the easy route.
