This and Rocksmith always amazed me at how well they could make a game and an accessory that would accurately aid someone in really becoming better at a music instrument
Very nice find, indeed. So intact, at that. Probably an attic space hog that finally got filtered out with other old stuff. Owners never knew what they had.
My dad bought my sister one of those when I was in 1st grade. It's sitting in the trunk of my car right now. The keyboard, both cables and cartridge. No foot pedal.
since you mentioned Software Toolbox Company in fact they where the ones responsible for alot of software for the Apple IIGS back in the day I can believe I happened to remember them but when u posted the logo it just hit me so though I just shout that out
It actually gets a lot more advanced once you get into the songs. I remember as a kid I could never even pass the 3rd song and there are 45. It lets you watch demos of all the songs. The last one is "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang and it looked super hard to play. I used to just listen to it and dance sometimes lol.
I want this but all the listings I’m finding on eBay are missing something. So it looks like I’ll have to buy 3 separate auctions to get everything. Lol And from the looks of the graphics it’s literally the NES version on an SNES cart
Nice job John, but the SNES version was a port of the NES version, not the other way around. I bought mine from QVC for $399 back when Dudley Moore was their official endorser. ... ... ... I thought it was decent, but the KB sounds were terrible, even compared to an Ensoniq Mirage KB I had from 1985. Otherwise it would have been a good value. I ended up returning it soon after and used the money to buy a couple Neo?Geo games. :P
Good lord, you could get a professional full 88 key Yamaha MIDI keyboard for half that price back then. I cannot imagine this sold *any* units, there are much easier/cheaper ways to learn the piano ;)
Good video as always. I have a question for you man. Do you know anything about the Sega Smash Controller (innovation smash controller, mallet legend smash controller)? I have had it for a few years and still know almost nothing about it. I can't seem to find anything out about it online and you seem like the man to ask.
Thanks for another great review. These are lots of fun! I've had two for NES, one with the early plain white box back and a spiral notebook, and one later one with a box like yours but with NES stickers. traded one to a pianist friend and actually got him back into gaming. I also have the IBM floppy conversion box, and the Super cart loose but haven't been able to test either.
I found one of these at a St Vincent De Paul in my town. I got the keyboard, power adapter, and a keyboard stand with it (they threw it in since it was displayed on it) all for $20. Unfortunately the midi cord (they can be expensive) wasn't with it and I won't buy the game until I get that. Really neat to find the box with yours.
seen one of these at a flea market last year I had no idea was for Nintendo though had the box and everything f*** me I should have bought it just really wasn't sure what it was
Somewhere, Malcolm McDowell is screaming in agony. Software Toolworks also published the Mavis Beacon series of typing tutorials. I remember playing that on an old Apple II in school in like 7th or 8th grade.
Bought one back in the day. Never a fan of the software but I still use the keyboard. Good to practice on with headphones. The damper pedal actually works. Out of 128 sounds, a handful are decent.
Fuck this thing. Seriously. This piano is the bane of my existence. I've come across 4.....FUCKING 4 of these things in my life. All less than $50 CIB. I never had the cash for them or by the time I came back they were gone. 3 times in PA (Wilkes Barre, Allentown, and Erie), and once in Orlando, FL. I'm convinced i'm never meant to own this piano, and I don't care to at this point. I'm pissed watching this video. Congrats John, it's probably one of the ones I missed >_< ! Excuse me while I slam my head in a car door a few thousand times >_>
I have it, at the time it was weird for me to say nintendo, just buy it to learn how to use the piano , at that time I bought it for 500 Mexican pesos, something like 25 dollars, that if you came only the keyboard 🎹 and a generic electric current pass
I saw one at my local Salvation Army in box. Sadly, they wanted $100 for this.... Thrifts stores are forgetting that they are indeed THRIFT stores! >:(
I played this same keyboard at my cousins house, I had no idea it had anything to do with nintendo. It is fun to play but it has limited functionality. Overall I liked it
Me: Wow. I remember getting this for Christmas one year when I was a kid. I bet quite a few kids benefited from-- Guy: This thing didn't sell very well... Me: ...R-really?? ovo
I found that exact same keyboard piano at a goodwill for 25 bucks . It came with all the cords minus the game . Great video as always !
I had this keyboard as a kid, definitely had a lot of fun learning the music. Guess it stuck with me as I've been a musician most of my life :)
This and Rocksmith always amazed me at how well they could make a game and an accessory that would accurately aid someone in really becoming better at a music instrument
Hi Alpha :)
I think that this thing's price was OK. It had a lot of samples and the quality was not bad considering it's just a peripheral from 1991.
Very nice find, indeed. So intact, at that.
Probably an attic space hog that finally got filtered out with other old stuff. Owners never knew what they had.
I saw Ricky had one of these tucked away in his game room.
now this is the piano game that's rare not the NES one.
Seems like fun. I'm not any good at piano, but I would try it out.
My dad bought my sister one of those when I was in 1st grade. It's sitting in the trunk of my car right now. The keyboard, both cables and cartridge. No foot pedal.
Looks like a neat accessory that also actually works. Can't say that for many accessories from the 90's :p.
Wow, that looks to be relevant even in this day and age. Nice find.
Looks like you are ready to join MetalJesusRocks' band! Cool find!
WOW! I remember seeing this. Totally took me back with this one.
That looks awesome
It's a miracle you found this!
I don't get it
Benny Kearl miracle...piano, a pun on words
since you mentioned Software Toolbox Company in fact they where the ones responsible for alot of software for the Apple IIGS back in the day I can believe I happened to remember them but when u posted the logo it just hit me so though I just shout that out
Actually seems like an excellent learning tool for absolute beginners.
Well I'll be. I have the nes version from when I was a kid, but didn't know they made a snes version as well.
Awesome!
Damn, even I don't have this and have over 400 Snes carts here.
damn i love your channel..
I want this but all the listings I’m finding on eBay are missing something. So it looks like I’ll have to buy 3 separate auctions to get everything. Lol

thanks john, been waiting for another one of your reviews, keep at it bro
Thanks Marc. More reviews coming soon too.
I heard about that one but never seen before for Lasy but is good.and I liked good video bro
Good lord, you could get a professional full 88 key Yamaha MIDI keyboard for half that price back then. I cannot imagine this sold *any* units, there are much easier/cheaper ways to learn the piano ;)
Hurray!! A new review!!! I knew you wouldn't let us down Gamester! Miss this retro stuff.
Good video as always. I have a question for you man. Do you know anything about the Sega Smash Controller (innovation smash controller, mallet legend smash controller)? I have had it for a few years and still know almost nothing about it. I can't seem to find anything out about it online and you seem like the man to ask.
Nailed that No. 9 like a boss! :)
The funny thing is back then you could have just hired someone to teach you the Piano for cheaper then that thing cost.
now you can join "Metal Jesus' " band!
Damn bro ur collection amazes me
***** I have a PAL cart of Miracle on the NES never seen a SNES one though.
Great video John! I have been looking for one of these since the last vid you did on it. They are so damn expensive though.
I spent my life saving in 1994 to buy this hoping to be a piano star. I'm now homeless. I'm typing this at a library.
Update?
I have the NES version with game. I wonder if it’s more rare or it’s exactly the same thing.
John if you keep this up, you could be the next Beethoven!
***** Famous german composer and pianist from the 1800's...or one of the most well known and respected musicians in history.
*****
He's that dog from that movie
Had I had one of these as a kid I would have so mastered Moonlight Sonata by now. Another great vid John!
I was looking into this. The one question I have is - will the Miracle Piano from the NES be compatible with the SNES version?
Didn't the nes have a piano too?
"How I came across this is an interesting story... I was just at a thrift store and I happened to see it."
Wow; that IS an interesting story.

One of those miracles of technology that just sat on the shelves of Software Etc., Good Guys, and Radio Shack right next to the Neo-Geo Aes's.
Just seeing these things in action alone is just amazing.
I've considered getting the Amiga version lots of times but i'm always put off as I do not know if this is an effective learning system?
I have a working VirtualBoy with 4 games. How much i can get selling it?

Pretty neat, kinda funny though for snes? Think how powerful an accessory like that would be for ps3 or ps4, thank you for the videos, PEACE!
Mircale?
I wonder if this could be used as a standalone keyboard.
yes it can
seen one of these at a flea market last year I had no idea was for Nintendo though had the box and everything f*** me I should have bought it just really wasn't sure what it was
That would have been a real bummer if it came without the styrofoam
That was a decent price tag
I want to see Robo-Man fall!
Somewhere, Malcolm McDowell is screaming in agony.
Software Toolworks also published the Mavis Beacon series of typing tutorials. I remember playing that on an old Apple II in school in like 7th or 8th grade.
found one of these on the curb! does it work on the nes release from a couple of years ago? I dont hve a vintage one.
I just acquired the genesis one, Is it any rarer?
Bought one back in the day. Never a fan of the software but I still use the keyboard. Good to practice on with headphones. The damper pedal actually works. Out of 128 sounds, a handful are decent.
wow, this keyboard accessory is surprisingly cheap

Freude schöner Götterfunken - Thank you for this product review. Well done :-)
In the 1980's I had a small casio and I thought I was queen Bee playing it, lol. I would play Home Sweet Home by Motley Crue on it , lol.
gamester81 = liberace.
Wait, are you and Nintendo cool again? I though you said, no more Nintendo product reviews?
Wow! Between this and LGRs thrift stores, I think I need to move to a city with better thrift stores!
I wonder if the Amiga version sold more units, due to the Amiga being such a multimedia powerhouse?
This is so rare and expensive !!!
this is perfect for making a high quality snes soundfont.
I saw one at my local Salvation Army in box. Sadly, they wanted $100 for this....
Thrifts stores are forgetting that they are indeed THRIFT stores! >:(
the sticker on that piano looks like a troll face, so thats why nintendo is such a troll to the internet
are u pretty decent at keys gamester?
