I was about to throw in the towel until I came across this video. Didn’t know you had to power the RCA to HDMI cable and the blue screen. Can’t thank you enough for this video 👏

I have the same device u are using and I’m getting a grey screen on my tv. I hooked it up the same way u did and still getting a grey screen I even tried using a switch box to rca cords and still getting the same thing
Hi Mark, Double check all the connections on the devices to make sure they are secure. Usually when the grey/green or blue screen appears it has to do with the game not connecting all the way. A few things you can try to get it working. 1. Try another game (To see if the cartridge is the issue) 2. Clean the cartridge connectors 3. Make sure the cartridge is pressed all the way down in the NES 4. Try it on another monitor or HDMI TV (This is to verify it is not having issues with the Monitor) If you are hearing sounds but have the grey screen still then make sure to flip the switch on the AV to HDMI connector. Thinking that it is the connectors on the cartridge need cleaned. That is what happens often to me and cleaning them well helps it connect. Hope this helps
@@DavesComputerTips I got it to work this morning by not using the female to female coupler adapter, it works fine now with the rca switch box, ur adapter is a little different then mine I have a male rca not a female rca. Ty for ur input
Would this work? If it says Av & S-Video to HDMI converter and looks like this one you show. And i got a yobo nes. Bought other things that did not work.
hello! I am trying to give a new life to my old NES. At the game shop however they have told me that with this system through HDMI you can display the game but not hear the sound.. it is true?
No it is not true since I have it playing the sound also. When you plug in the RCA cables leave the white one not connected. Since the NES does not do stereo sound the white connection is not needed. I tested this out again and it is giving the sound for me. I do use a monitor with built in speakers. The setup I show in this video is what I use to make this all work. It should work for you too. The AV to HDMI adapter I use in this video is the one to use. I hope this answers your question.
Make sure to clean the pins on the game cartridge. The blue screen or green screen means the system can not read the cartridge chip. Also check the all the cords and connections are secure. Test more then one game to see if it will work on another. I'm leaning towards the dirty pins since that is most likely what it is. I hope this helps you out.
Well the AV/RCA is coming off the NES and the TV is HDMI. As long the connections are right it should work. The adapter I mention in this video is made to work. Should not matter if the title is reversed. a.co/d/8SZVBNc

What does and the blue screen mean?

Wow, thank you!
The white connector on the NES is not an audio left output but an RF output.
Thanks for the video but I already knew this. What I'd like to know is if there's a lag when gaming with classic NES on LCD's?
Thanks Dave! I followed your instructions and it works! Amazing!
Thank you! This helped
Glad it helped!
How does audio work if I don't have a pc? Will speakers connect to my pc monitor if there is a audio jack or will something else be required?
How about to android tv (sony)
I have the same equipment needed like yours but the TV won't able to detect the connection.
Thank you much appreciated!

Can you do a tutorial for the SNES too? The ports are not the same as the NES, so it's not clear how it would work.
That is a great Idea. I will add it to my list :)
@@DavesComputerTips Thank you! I just dug out my SNES at my mom’s place and I would love to get it working again!

Will a HDMI to AV adaptor work or does it have to be AV to HDMI?

@@DavesComputerTips Thanks very much. I tried and it never worked for me so I ended up ordering the proper one.
Would this still work if I had to add a hdmi to dvi converter?
Even if connecting it to newer tv like this video wont the video qaulity be less then having it on a older crt tv
I could not tell much of a difference when I played my games. Quality still looked good doing it this way.
Does Using RCA On A TV For It Still Work?
As long as the TV has those same hook ups then it should work on there. Is your TV an Older one not a smart TV?
Does this cause any input lag? Vs using a CRT
you never did show the mode of the tv ????
I will make a video on that. It is the same only thing different is attaching the HDMI for that TV. But would be happy to make a video on it. :)

It’s giving me no signal from my monitor, I bought new RCA cables and AC adapter just for this😭
Hi
Hi back !

The power cord this comes with is powered by USB. Not plug needed it uses the USB to power it. :)
