Once you try out the FaceBlaster missions where you are beamed up into the enemy ship and have to fight all around you with convincing 3D audio it is very convincing. It only makes me more excited for when and if a Switch Pro gets a 1080p screen. I bought the $80 kit, but at $40 it's a must play experience. If you get motion sickness from VR just keep trying in small bursts, maybe with a fan on you. I overcame my motion sickness completely after several playthroughs.
I want a third party to release a peripheral (with a strap) so I can avoid all this cardboard construction nonsense. I'm interested in VR for the Switch, but not the building part, and I want something more durable than cardboard.
I picked up the starter kit. I can see the toy-cons like the blaster wearing out over time. But the goggles portion doesn't see much abuse from handling and should last a while. I'm with you though on Nintendo taking this a step further with a non-Labo version. I went from disinterest in VR on Switch to being impressed by the Labo implementation to wanting Nintendo to keep working on VR. Been a weird journey this past week.
I love the camera! I accidentally stood up and ran into my closet door ahahahahaha. The camera game low key scared me when I started sinking to the bottom 😂 the building portion was so stress relieving especially since I have midterms coming up. I haven’t built everything yet because I’m so busy, but I’m excited to continue 😊
I wasn't too excited until I saw the game making feature. That actually looks really customizable for something from Nintendo, and I'm dying to try it out now.
Labo VR seems like a great entry point into VR for Nintendo, if they continue to support it and maybe make some more full-length games for it, that will be incredible. All they need to do is put a strap on the headset so you can hold the joy-cons in your hands freely and its potential goes up significantly. Also If we get a Pokemon Snap with the camera kit I'm totally in.
I’m a huge Nintendo fan, and I honestly pay another $300+ for a Full on VR experience. I definitely have a better opinion on this but still a no for me. Feels too unfinished like they designed it but didn’t have anything to go with it. Needs more games before anyone should be paying that price. The others can be expensive because it comes with so much and it has games. This is like a sandbox game almost like Garry’s Mod. Honestly if Nintendo just teams up with Vive or Oculus for a docked experience Here Take my $500 lmao But I just don’t like labo so Hopefully people enjoy it. but definitely needs more games to support it.
I bought it with low expectations and figured my stepdaughter would have fun with it too. Now I get irritated that she wants to play because it takes my time away. It's fantastic, especially the blaster, and works exponentially better than I ever thought it would.

It's something like viewing a screen generated by the Wii but with extra effects, etc. But the VR effect is every bit or more immersive than the PSVR.
JUST IMAGINE METROID PRIME 4 IN FULL VR
Hi , do you think its possible to make a strap for the Vr Glasses? I dont imagine playing zelda always holding the glasses...
apparently you can buy a google cardboard strap for $7 on amazon (not sure what currency it is, probably USD)
I want a third party to release a peripheral (with a strap) so I can avoid all this cardboard construction nonsense. I'm interested in VR for the Switch, but not the building part, and I want something more durable than cardboard.
Don't worry about the durability of the cardboard, every review says that it is very sturdy and well-built.
So much money for cardboard? O hunny, I've been playing Magic for 20years...
I wasn't too excited until I saw the game making feature. That actually looks really customizable for something from Nintendo, and I'm dying to try it out now.
7-12 hours to build it, wtf, there’s no way that it will take that long
did you build any labo? the blaster took me 4 hours. i believe it takes that long
Labo VR seems like a great entry point into VR for Nintendo, if they continue to support it and maybe make some more full-length games for it, that will be incredible. All they need to do is put a strap on the headset so you can hold the joy-cons in your hands freely and its potential goes up significantly. Also If we get a Pokemon Snap with the camera kit I'm totally in.
Agreed
I’m a huge Nintendo fan, and I honestly pay another $300+ for a Full on VR experience. I definitely have a better opinion on this but still a no for me. Feels too unfinished like they designed it but didn’t have anything to go with it. Needs more games before anyone should be paying that price. The others can be expensive because it comes with so much and it has games.
This is like a sandbox game almost like Garry’s Mod.
Honestly if Nintendo just teams up with Vive or Oculus for a docked experience Here Take my $500 lmao
But I just don’t like labo so Hopefully people enjoy it. but definitely needs more games to support it.
You should try the Bird games, it's a great experience!
9 hours? Amateurs!
Lol, I build IKEA furniture for a living...let's see how this timeline applies
Caitlin do you live in a IKEA box
@@georgegarcia2575 yes
I bought it with low expectations and figured my stepdaughter would have fun with it too. Now I get irritated that she wants to play because it takes my time away. It's fantastic, especially the blaster, and works exponentially better than I ever thought it would.
Compare it with virtual boy
-both vr
-both don’t have straps
-both from Nintendo
-both have very limited games
-both hurt your eyes
except fot those last two
@J Dxvx you will be able to buy the kits seperatly and each is 20 bucks, also, have you even seen the video?
Lol
@J Dxvx I played yoshi's island today. It is very fun.
@J Dxvx I don't care about labo and respect your opinion, but Yoshi's island is really a fun game.
I designed a 3D model of a shell for the VR headset with slots for head straps. I'm going to 3D print it this weekend and enjoy breath of the wild hands-free next week
“Assuming you don’t have a phone”
Lmao phones are like $800
I got used to the building process of work bro, it became the best part & you're right about what you said about it just take your time drop teasers
Putting glass shattering sound effects over falling cardboard
Yea that makes sense
Is it possible to add a head strap?
Yeah, this article does a good job of explaining how: www.nintendoworldreport.com/video/50267/adding-a-head-strap-to-labo-vr
