I think something that is really missing is a set of resort reviews mainly from the perspective of a certain skill level - like beginner, intermediate, etc. Seems like most reviewers are already advanced/expert ski/snowboarders so they cover resorts mainly from that perspective. I'd love a line up of the best "beginner" or progression friendly resorts.
I'm from Minnesota and learned and started skiing at Welch village, and the biggest I ever skied was Lutsen. It was amazing but this last spring break I was able to go Colorado and I went to Purgatory for 2 days and then Monarch, yet Purgatory was bigger and more runs, I loved monarch so much and it was such a open resort, and i felt like i could go anywhere in the resort to ski. Loved every minute. Only skied to Colorado resorts but Monarch definitely beats Purgatory and there were very little lift lines
Monarch is where I learned to ride as well. Also was the first resort where I jumped lifts to get to fresh powder…. Annnnnd got the boot for the day too 😂
Love your videos. I grew up skiing monarch. My record for days at monarch is 54 in one season, oddly enough that was the worst snow year i can remember hahaha. One thing i wish you would've covered is monarch's double black terrain. Although you do have to hike to it, the hike is pretty short and mirkwood bowl and/or mirkwood trees can be amazing if you go at the right time. Just make sure to bring a friend. The one time i went alone I fell very hard, luckily i was still able to ski out.
If you want locals to show you around, you should be open to riding with them when they hit you up on socials. You could've had a badass time at monarch with the locals like you preach
They are but very few people ever pay a walk up price for a ticket. If you ski more than a few days a year than you will likely utilize some kind of a conglomerate pass or a season pass that has reciprocal deals.
This is a just plain dumb review. The algorithm that goes into the rating negates the terrain and total vibe. It’s a great old school resort. I don’t care about lodging or quad pack lifts. The atmosphere at Monarch is something out of the past and well worth a visit. 5:47

I am so glad you finally did monarch! It is the place I learned to ski and go there every year.

I love Monarch. It just feels like my home whenever I go. Went to the first open weekend yesterday and conditions were really good for early season.
Next time you come to monarch, you should do what you say and actually ride with the locals!

KEEP THIS GEM A SECRET, FOR FEAR OF CORPORATE

No Mirkwood Bowl hike mention????
Did you see any butterflies there?
Lol
Haha
Seems like US ski resorts are rather expensive if this is a decent price.
