    I didn't address it in this video but obviously there could be some effect from his Achilles injury . There are no direct correlations between Achilles tests and quad strains but he likely has altered his mechanics to put different load on the quad muscles. Either way this definitely will make further rehab even more challenging now with a history of both injuries.

      So how long do you think he'll be out for doctor?

    • @BrianSuttererMD
      @BrianSuttererMD  5 лет назад +21

      I'd say at least a few weeks, but we'll know more after 1-2 weeks of rehab..hard to really estimate since they aren't being totally up front about severity..they are giving him 2 weeks then re evaluate

      It's a matter of how long warriors are in playoffs and how he recovers. There are some complications that can occur and delay healing. Honestly I'm sure they are planning on him being out all playoffs, but we'll see

    As D. Cousins, I got three injuries in the same leg (left), strongest leg when I was still playing. But in my case, it started with many knee injuries, a tiny quad tier while sprinting, visible, but not painful. It repaired on its own, followed by the Achilles tendon injury on that same leg (2surgeries). I think one injury(weakness) leads to another, since there is compensation of energy to.

Anyway, Surgeries got me back on my feel, but will never be the same, losing speed and athleticism, plus age (33). I was only NCAA level, Cousins have more mileage than me, more weight as well. Cousins playing professionally is what separates him from anyone else. He will never be the same. That same leg will keep going that path, and exposes the good leg who is carrying the extra effort.

    Hey Brian,
    I know you said you dont believe his injury is related to his achiles, but i think the mechanisms are similar. For example, let's assume that his anchilles injury occurred when he extended his ankle (from an extreme dorsi flexed position). Similarly, when you extend your ankle to jump/run, you extend your knee. So if his heel wasn't able to take the load of his body, he could have compensated by extending more at the knee.

    I’m going to hope no one else keeps getting injured so he could get to historical injuries, not recent ones... with that being said, can you cover the Marcus Lattimore knee injury vs Tennessee?

    I don't understand why they would not surgically repair it, and instead let scar tissue form, thereupon losing function? I am told I have a quad tear, and I need surgery now, and medical articles say one should not wait on quad tears!! I have a lot of thigh swelling they tell me is blood, but after one week post injury I can extend my leg a little bit. I would prefer to wait and see, but am confused where they say not to wait.....!?????
