To clarify something: Recombination is ANY ELEMENTAL FINAL BLOW, so Energy, Heavy, Supers (not including bubble or well), grenades and Charged melees will contribute to stacks
So do strand/stasis ability blows count for it, as they are generally in the kinetic slot and not the energy slot?

Yes. All subclass abilities and weapon types. Even those weapons with osmosis should count.

I dont see this so much as "oh implosion is the way to go now." I see it more as just now we have 2 acceptable mag choices to make farming easier.
Yeah, doesn't feel punishing for me to use High Velocity Rounds. The free reload speed + velocity provides so much quality of life that I don't even spare a thought on the tiny bit of lost damage.
Nah, it's the way to go because then you can trigger the gatekeepers who claim a roll without Spike Grenades is trash.
I mean its only like a 0.04% difference between spike and implosion
@@The_Genithat's the multiplier. total dmg can change from anywhere between 50 dmg and 10,000 dmg.
@@Ex0dus24 in order for it to be 10,000 dmg you need to hit 200 shots.. also isn't the damage difference 28 or something, so without recombination its so much worse than 200. This is nothing to stress about at all get either roll on a mtp and be happy instead of grinding for 50 more damage. hard launch + spike granades OR implostion rounds.
My surprise goat perk has been impulse amp, because I never knew it had the bonus reload speed
Yeah if you want to use it like a primary weapon and less like the "shoot once then put it away" gun everyone is using it as, impulse amp is easily the best perk in that column imo

@@caseyl5001 Yeah everyone seems to be hard focused on using mountaintop as a dps weapon forgetting that 90% of time spent in this game isn't dps. Impulse amplifier frenzy all day for me.
Rather than the reload speed, an scalar modification is better, a plain 100 reload without any scalar is basically worse than a 90 with a .85 scalar reduction, specially in breach gls where reload seems capped no matter how much reload you have.
FOR REAL everyone is running recomb alh. But i run imp amp and one for all or varpel. Is so much better for me xD
Attuning is so scuffed in this activity, I've gotten shinies for every weapon other than my attuned weapon.

Yep, got a god roll shiny midnight coup, when I'm still attuning mountaintop. Both the best and worst luck in that one moment
It’s just RNG attuning isn’t a 100% chance
Deactivate attuning on the ones you DON'T want so RNG will lean towards what you do have attuned. I don't think it's a huge difference but noticeable.
I pulled a Hard Launch, Implosion Rounds, ALH + Recombination so this is nice.
Jealous of the ALH. I got Impulse Amp on mine, which is still nice but I want it to reload itself, lol. at least it's shiny and also has Vorpal, so I can use Impulse/Vorpal for single targets with Anarchy, or Dragons Breath etc.

@@hhastedon't forget when we can enhance the perks on these your impulse will increase reload speed. I know it's not autoloader (I'm the same way) but atleast it's something that helps
I’ve gotten a few. Auto Load/Recombination. Demo/Frenzy. But my favorite by far is Demo/Adrenaline on a Void Devour build with weakening scatter nade. Absolute GOAT.
i really like how it has so many rolls with different playstyles. for example i really like auto loading recom because it reminds me of my love heritage.
now try it on a solar sunbracers build
I've been loving demo frenzy, been using it like a primary on my nade builds. Gives like a third of my nade back on a kill and hits hard.

They even added a note on DIM telling us this when you hover over spike grenades. Roughly "a lower blast radius stat will provide slightly higher overall damage."
Really feels bad when higher stats hurt you.

Honestly it just feels more logical to me, blast radius never read like a damage increase but rather an AOE increase, so now it's just working more intuitively (That said, it feels like mountaintop shouldn't get worse in this case, as the explosion should still hit the enemy you impact!)
It doesn't hurt you.. it helps for ad clear.. if you want single target dmg, then it makes perfect sense. Blast radius being confined into a small area means more damage to the single target.

I actually got the ambitous asassain + recombination roll on my shiny and its really fun. You get both worlds of either using the weapon as a primary or backpacking the overflowed magazine and double tapping with recombination for higher damage.
Been loving recombination so much, I've been considering bringing out parasite for even more burst damage lol

Parasite is the low-key meta for onslaught, crazy for add clear and burst damage with a very god ammo economy, I basically use it as a special.
Just have a linear/whisper to swap to if the tormentor appears.
Ps: I started using at the end of the 1st week before the overcharged GL modifier, it's great even without it, Mtop on the other hand will fall HARD after the reset.
I got an autoload adrenaline junkie MT as my first drop and it actually goes REALLY HARD with a grenade heavy build like a sunbracer warlock. It actually surprised me at how good it was.

since this week had the Overchagred GL modifer, and it rips up yellow bar and mini bosses so well that I can almost carry my matchmade teammates (if I'm running a solid build).
OK, this actually was quite helpful to know. I've only gotten 2 Mountain Tops and the only non-curated roll I got has Hard and Spike. Thanks!

I got a shiny with hard launch, implosion rounds, autoloading, recombination with a reload master work,, absolutley love it.
kinda pointless for autoloading but this literally the roll i want but velocity master work :(
@@Syrr7777 Handling/velocity is preffered, but there are times where you may want to reload it to double tap a yellow with another rocket
Considering that I been farming this weapon for 4 days straight and could get a single auto loading and recombination roll, I just settled with a impulse amplifier and recombination roll and never look at my barrel and mag perks (even tho this have both spike and sticky).
What I'm trying to get at is, I ain't going back and you can't make me, don't send me back.
If you lucky, it will drop from farming for the other weapons
Just attune it and casually farm 50 wave legends in under an hour with ceno and Orpheus. I agree though it’s about a 0.2% of getting this roll on a regular version 🥲 I was so relieved when I got mine

Worth noting: when you'll be able to enhance perks on the weapon in the future, you'll have to masterwork the weapon to do so.
Oh, didn't know that.. Good to know, in case anyone gets unlucky with a blast radius MW.. instant shard.
And enhanced weapons gain +2 to the non MWed stats at level 20 just like crafted weapons so there's no running away from that ~2% damage decrease.
@@armageddragoon2514 also true. I wonder if Bungie might do what they did with fusion's charge time masterwork. So, blast radius mw wouldn't detract from DMG.
@@hhastedef not an insta shard for most people the odds of getting a god roll without blast radius is about 0.2% 😂😂
So my 2nd MT was the literal God roll and I've been grinding for spike, auto reload and recomb this whole time with no luck. This video saved me a ton of time

I’ve been using an “auto loading holster” build in Onslaught. Mountain top/gnawing hunger/hullabaloo. Slaps pretty decent. Once you get in a combat groove you can continuously fire without having to reload at all.
I got a shiny one with vorpal, autoload, both spike and implosion, hard launch and handling masterwork. It feels pretty nice :D
I got a shiny MTNT with Hard + Implosion, autoloading and frenzy, but then bungie said: "Wouldn't it be funny to give it a blast radius masterwork"
loooool. Look at the bright side, you can save your cores, since you don't have to MW it.

I have been loving my impulse amp + recombination roll, shoot a dragons breath at the boss and let it give a free 20-50% buff to every follow up shot from mt if there are enough adds around. The reload speed boost from impulse basically guarantees you have max reload speed and fire off quick follow up shots on anything that survives the first hit, then you can reload cancel it when stowing so its ready for when you need it next

Got an Overflow/Recombination with Spike/Implosion, Handling Masterwork. Just missed on the Barrel (Linear / Volatile). 4/5 ain't bad, and the thing is a beast, just deletes yellow bars.
Make sure to use spike since it doesn’t matter if ur blast radius is 100 you’ll still get a damage buff

the one im using the most is hard launch implosion auto loading vorpal for a triple GL boss damage rotation with wilderflight and edge transit

Demo frenzy with buried bloodline on strand goes hard as an ability cooldown weapon. Melee energy from the origin trait and ~20-30% grenade energy depending on if you have thread of generation and/or devour.
Spike nades, autoloading, vorpal is my god roll i got the other day and i absolutely love it
FYI for this example god roll: recomb, auto, spike, hard launch, not blast radius masterwork statistically you would need to get approx 300 mountaintops to have a 50/50 chance of getting the roll. That assumes the drop chance of each individual perk is random with no weighting for or against certain perks. So for most it’s probably not worth trying to get such rolls. Better to try for 2 or 3 perks instead.
Ya and that’s spike or implosion. It’s about a 0.2% drop rate.
My go to was always full court spike grenades. Until I got salvagers and just started using GLs for ad clear
So question - I assume this Blast Radius vs impact damage deal affect Rockets as well? Meaning, should my DPS Rocket Launcher for raid bosses have lower BR to increase the impact damage which seems to be higher overall? Or do they function differently?

Impulse Amp and Frenzy could be fun, whip it out to just spam a few shots into a tougher target then swap back to the primary (or rocket pistol with Lead from Gold) and get back to it.
It's not a Shiny one, but I did get one of these near-god-rolls in my very first attuned run yesterday with Hard Launch, Spike Nades, Auto-loading, and Recombination with a Velocity masterwork. Kinda want at least 1 more like that (or Implosion as an option) so I'll have one ready for multiple classes.
After checking the postmaster, I have one with reload masterwork, hard launch, implosion, ambitious and vorpal. I'll be keeping that lol
I got one with Overflow/Vorpal and it does well enough as a service weapon.

I got a 5/5 god roll shiny mountaintop and it's quickly becoming my go to for annihlating chunky orange bar enemies.

My overflow and one for all roll has been nuts when playing on my hunter with orpheus rig. I’m constantly having one for all proc. Every time I pop my super, majors are getting grouped together and absolutely destroyed…..in Onslaught.

Hello. Blast radius increase with spike doesn’t actually hurt your damage! It maxes at 100 and you’re still getting about 8% more damage regardless!
If you had implosion instead of spike then added blast radius reduces ur max damage directly

I got a shiny the day it dropped with impulse and overflow with recombination and frenzy in the fourth. It has hard launch with sticky and high velocity.
Ok so implosion isn't bad after all. Good to know and for rolls I'm farming really I'm just hoarding them rn. But specifically I'm looking for Overflow and/or auto-loading vorpal or those 2 and recom which I feel is a really great for quickswapping and general use

@hhaste yeah I was conditioned by spike nades but now I'm like "ok so implosion rounds ISNT a bad thing" so if I now get implosion I won't be disappointed.

Hard Launch, Implosion Rounds, ALH, Frenzy.. with a handling masterwork, 100 velocity and 85 blast radius... that'll do I think :)
I guess it'd be maybe too overpowered but I kinda wish recombination could work similarly to redirection. Where just hitting red bar enemies gives you a 20% damage buff that procs vs elite and higher tier enemies with stacks up to 20 using up to 5 stacks at once (I think enhanced is 25% and only uses 4 stacks at a time) to let you load 4x (5x for enhanced) double damage shots. Maybe this would've been too much, but the idea of holding 4+ double damage shots at once. I guess the upside is that recombination can be triggered off of all elemental damage, including primary damage, where redirection would require you use your special ammo in order to get the 2x damage shots AND they'd have to be used on low tier enemies which are obviously not mountaintop's intended targets. Maybe the "deal extra damage to only high ranking enemies" mechanic would be good for it tho since if you want to save your 2x damage shot, you waste it if you want to rocket jump.
Best one I got so far is auto vorpal but tbh I been mainly just having fun with it bouncing around 😂

I have an Empty Vessel with disorienting , auto loading and disruption break.. it has a blast radius MW but I haven’t touched it yet..
On that GL would the blast radius MW be a good thing?
Demo adrenaline junkie is one I’m looking for. I have it on the another wave frame and it’s great with a voidlock contra verse build or any grenade build really. Just want to see how it compares with the wave frame version.

Over flow with recombination is my go to, shoot the recombination grenade and just save the second one for the stack again so it’s almost a bootleg ALH, plus overflow instantly reloads your gun when running over special so there’s that too.

I have Spike/Stick grenades, Demolitionist and Adrenalin Junkie with a Velocity MW…. It’s fantastic at clearing with double Grenades on Titan.
No mention of Vorpal, which is the same as Frenzy without the 15 seconds of combat needed. Impulse Amplifier & Vorpal is real nice feeling, paired with something like Anarchy or Dragons Breath. My shiny has Impulse Am/Overflow & Recombination/Vorpal. Nice to switch between them, depending on the heavy I'm using.
Vorpal only works on Minibosses/Champions, Bosses and Vehicles. Frenzy works on all enemy types upon fulfilling it's requirements, as well as giving the weapon +100 reload and +100 handling.
Vorpal is easier to proc, but not as effective against all enemy types. Frenzy is harder to proc, but has greater advantages.

I actually obtained an Impulse/Recom roll somewhat early on in my farming; I wasn't aware of the Spike changes (I have come back after a two year hiatus) and checked it just in case. It has Implosion Rounds, but no Hard Launch, as well as a Reload MW. I was keeping it in my back pocket, but given my playstyle and how I typically use it, I think it's going to be my god roll. Will still keep an eye out for a Hard Launch roll, but it's literally 4/5 and I don't know if I can feasibly get any better before I burn out again.

Hello! I've recently acquired it with Hard Launch, Implosion, Auto-Loading, and Recombination. However, I received a Blast Radius masterwork that was already set to level 2, bringing my Blast Radius to 87 instead of 85. Should I keep this weapon, or did I get pranked?

I got a shiny with ALH/Recomb. I’m happy with that.
Ended up getting Auto Loading and Vorpal. It is fine.
I got very lucky with my Top rolls. I can 100% say in faster paced content auto-reload is the way to go. Overflow is subjective but tied me over until I got my auto-reload roll. Ambitious is great in lower tier content but falls of dramatically in higher content. Auto-load will keep your swapping and pumping damage out, so whilst all are viable auto-loading takes the cake for me in general.
I got a Mountaintop with reload masterwork with Lead From Gold and One For All and it’s really nice
Wait, the explosion damage was the LOWER of the two numbers? How does that intuit? Isn’t the whole point of a grenade that it explodes for big damage? Is it like that for other grenade launchers, or just Mountaintop?

For some god unknown reason. I ended up getting one with max blast radius and a masterwork in on top of that and it is doing more damage than I thought it would. When I get a chance I’ll post the roll for testing. 🤔
Huh, turns out my auto loading+recombination roll was worth holding onto after all. And it's got the choice between implosion rounds and... Sticky Grenades, lol. Might take the sticky recombination combo for a spin.

I've gotten the rolls I want already - ALH Recombo for use with bns weapons, and impulse frenzy for general use/use with dragon's breath or anarchy. Still hoping for a shiny.
I have a recombination demolitionist role, use it with star fire protocol grenade spam
I use auto loading holster on my mountaintop and on my code duello and i use sunshot, so i rotate them for bosses and use the mountaintop to deal with yellow bar enemies.
I just like that i dont have to reload.
Got an early 4/5 god roll with only downside being harmony, which I think is still great, just not as good as recombination
I got a demo/recombination roll, its pretty fun
Been using a (non shiny sadly) 5/5 reload mw hard launch implo auto loading recon mt and that thing is a champ deleter. Max stacks of recon do upwards of 80 to 90% of a champ's hp bar just GONE. Delicious having the king back

Autoloading gives me some time to gain some Recombination stacks so by the time it autoloads i have 8-10 stacks every time for those yellow bars
I still think its hilarious that lucky pants can make using a hand cannon viable for everything from ads to boss dps only on a 9 sec cooldown lmao
I was chasing that god roll but the closest I got was Auto-Loading + Frenzy with the desired 85 blast radius. So I’m not going to chase Recombination and I’ll attune a different weapon.
Can you only enhance shiny weopens? Or can they be the regular ones?

I would argue that reload speed matters more than anything, for all guns. Damage is good, but during fast paced, time critical encounters, waiting to be able to shoot again makes a huge difference than being able to shoot when you want to
Bro I grinded for so long and got terrible roles, then out of nowhere I got the 5/5. Recombination, auto loading, implosion rounds, hard launch, and velocity masterwork. HECK YEAH

annoyingly, my roll was a shiny so it already had fully masterworked blast radius, so i put on spike because no matter if i did or not, i couldnt get it lower than 100 blast anyway. but seems like thats probably good enough, i guess you want either spike or the lowest blast

Does the blast radius of Mountaintop (And any Micro-Missile Frame in the future) directly correlate to height gained? When I use my Spike Mountaintop, it really feels like I gain more height, or at least gain height consistently. If this is true, then blast radius might be the go to for speedrunning or movement gurus.
