- In this video we will examine how to destroy a wood pillar by using wood fracturing techniques in VFX using Houdini. This is a fun tutorial that will explore the whole process from start to render in Karma! This is the first video to utilize Solaris/Karma on my channel so I am excited to share this one with all of you! This process will take us through the RBD Material Fracture node inside Houdini and use its parameters to achieve the desired effect. Wood pillar destruction is a simple way to practice low level VFX while developing skills that will carry you forward in your journey as VFX artists. So lets learn wood fracturing in VFX and push our skills in 3D Computer Animation to the limit.
