Purchased this cluster and looks amazing. Installed and upgraded in about 7 min. Forget its from China. This is Quality stuff. Well built not plasticky, Alloy framework, Clear screen, loads fast. Really brings anyones E90 into the "NOW".
Any bugs or anything since installation? Cruise control, alerts/notifications all good?
@@joshb5332 Hey Bro, Had the tyre monitor warning coming on all the time, but easy fix as have the file to fix that issue. Cruise control did not work for me on installation, but once I contacted the company they gave me the passcode to get into a new settings menu to set the cruise control and now perfect. I paid for this unit in full and have had zero issues and runs like a champ.I am very happy with it. Plus it brings your BMW into the "NOW" as it makes it so more up to date.

So does that technically mean that your flat tyre monitor doesn't work I..e you've had it coded out? Or has it been properly fixed?
@@joshb5332 No everything works fine even the tyre monitor. The file is for upgrading so you have access to the reset for the tyre monitor. It gives you access to a sub menu to reset everything and dial in. I have no complaints with it.Hope this helps and if you purchase I will always be here to help with anything.

You can remove the protective film that comes on it. I prefer it this way because the screen looks a bit sharper. It is pretty reflective on sunny days but still very readable. Having tinted windows would definitely help.
Can you do a update video on all the updates they did to it, also have they added the 3 series as a option to pick for the car on the cluster?
Second this love to see an updated video, esp if they have updated the shipped firmware or if once you buy you need to update to get some new changes

Amazing cluster, just if they can adjust the digital speedo increase increment since increment by 1. Annoying for the eyes, would be nice if it’s by 2/4/8 increment depending on the paddle % and gear ratio.
Awesome thing these digital gauges, the older screens really do age these cars especially when you compare them to the Audi’s at the time starting to use LED screens for neater and clearer fonts. I’m honestly not sold on any of those gauge faces, I think if they offer more styles I’ll definitely be interested in it, even if they’re not BMW style faces. That track one is the only one I could deal with, and even then I really don’t love it. However, once they start displaying MHD data, such as boost, anti-lag, and even shift lights or a flash I would be very interested.. but again the faces currently offered really don’t do it for me, I hope if the developers see this video they look at some of the comments to implement these ideas. Fantastic stuff on your part though Andrew, good to see you’re making this platform better by being the middle man for us so to speak between the cars and these developing companies.
I have another question for when this is in a DCT 335 or an M, does it display launch control?

Just got mine today after watching your video. Bit fiddly to install into the dash but not too difficult. Absolutely love it so far! Few typos and font issues as you said but hopefully they’ll have an upgrade to sort that out soon. Huge upgrade from the analogue!! Cheers for the great review mate!
Great to hear! I had a new firmware to try just before Xmas but it also had a new issue. Carlife are working on it, so hopefully see it soon.

Is being able to change/scale the RPM something that you brought up to CarLife? Also have a diesel and it would be great to have an accurate rpm range. I think the cluster will really come together when they clean up all the font, spelling, and minor things.
I did bring that up. However i also said, its not that important. i would prefer the english errors fixed first and then MHD intergration

And carlife is not the manufacturer, they are customer , cuz this cluster all over the world now using is based on my personal E60 data and protocols, this cluster i put the idea to a manufacturer who made toyota aftermarket LCD clusters and starting to produce BMW clusters 😂 from 2019 this thing got started. Now i am working on M cluster like SMG values and rev limit lights

@@santosmartinez2013 working on e90 pic now , firmware update you need to get it from your seller, from which seller you ordered, if order from me then i will send you updates whenever it will ok and if from other seller then when i will give them updates they can send it you.

yes, we are not the manufacturer, factories not have overseas seller, so like u said, client can choose the one they want, and get service from their seller.
if its really open source they should let people mess with the firmware and make their own stuff, that would be awesome
also if they would let you update the graphics to have the proper car displayed.

Update:
-the Cluster Themes, doesnt matter which theme, doesnt Shows anything above 260 km/h. I am From germany and Most of the Highways Outside are without Speed Limit.
-Seatbelt Warning cant switch off
-Speed warning above 120kmh also unable to Switch off
-if only a few liters in Gas Tank left/unter 50km distance, the Cluster doesnt Show Anything under 50km
-oil level cant be measured
I would buy this in a heartbeat but the UI is lacking the polish that the ID motion has. You can tell this is aftermarket/something from china. I’m not sure what is causing this, maybe the fonts and spacing. If they can fix the UI to look OEM+, they have my money
They will get that stuff sorted I have no doubts.
Id motion is worst their customer service wouldn’t help you and gong isn’t there you couldn’t code anything in Kombi. I would stay away from id4 too.

It would be nice if it was available for E53,E39,E38. I’m guessing pricing would probably end up in the same ballpark as sourcing an M cluster and reprogramming it to work on non M cars.

great video! I bought the unit for my manual bmw m2 2017 (did not got it from carlife but it is the same exact unit) I bought it from a canadian distributor to have some kind of support, install was super easy and it was plug and play. almost all works except that since my car is a manual when I remove the parking brake and shift the car is always displaying park and not showing in what gear I am in, and I also have 2 warnings displaying one pedestrian and front collision warning failure (It was not on my previous cluster and there is no fault when I scan my car) . Hopefully it will get corrected in updates,

The SOS error is very very common. Many e9x people code it out of the Kombi/Cluster.
Andrew, could you ask them to set the following values by default?
TCM_ALIVE_MONITOR -> nicht_activ
TCM_ID_MONITOR -> nicht_activ

It's been one year, any MHD integration after all? I have this cluster and I love it, what I can't figure out is how to display MHD maps (rpm gauge 1-2-3-4) when using MHD multimaps. And also I'd love to be able to change the the RPM scale and the rpm redline.
Hey Andrew, another great and very informative video! First off, good job holding on to your girl after all you've been through!!! If she's stood by ya this long, I'd wager she's a keeper. 👍 Back to the topic at hand here, I have to admit I'm very tempted by the digital side... This cluster seems like a nicely done bit of kit. Personally I like keeping my E82 original+, with tasteful bolt on upgrades; almost all of which can be reversed if there's ever a need to return the car back to stock. In many ways this cluster kinda fits in with my intention, particularly thanks to the ease of installation (and no coding required). I'll be keeping an eye out for MHD integration. If they pull that off, I may need one. 😁

On the cluster it's show a g series bmw, it would be a great idea if you can select an e90 or whatever, and the colour of your bmw
They have said they will change that even before I got it. However you never look at it anyway, once you drive with the cluster you want the extra info there

It should be fixed. However when you drive with the cluster you never see that car anyway
So here is my qualitative comment, what some kind of dissapointet me was the fact that navigation/multimediainformation isnt displayed but i can understand it isnt as easy as it seems to write. The next thing i actually thought my be better, are warning lights like you open the door and your cluster pops up the car with the according opened door....coming to my next question which might be high to try out: how does it react when your water or oil temp exceeds the "acceptable " range? Hows a "oilwarning" looking like? Thats a few things id actually expect or like to see as an information is Rev/Speed/Temperature related information of status things(changing color/size/position/individual warning chime). Like the M-Cars Oillights(think of e39/e46 m cluster), upshift downshift recommendations( maybe things to be setup individually, interesting for manual cars) and a last question do they have like a preset tool for PC so you can copy&past a predefined configuration via usb? Kind regards and that are my thoughts as of now!

to the suggestions, we talked and argued with the software engineer,
goods news is:
1. to the brake translations, will change, but LPK will not, cause said LPK is litter per km
2. to the E9X small car picture shows on the cluster, will add, and then can upgrade
Not change for now:
1. to the font of words, they say they did it on purpose, so not change
2. to the side of track mode, said for the same-level issue-this little hard to.
To other questions
1. the DCT has clients will test, we will follow and update
2. the boost display-software engineer said CAN NOT, if get clients test , we will check if really can not, then update
3. to the manual car if will work[cluster will work], factory said yes, but factory not tested how will gear show, said will show P on cluster, we will follow and update.
thx for sharing this cluster then more car owner can know this, and we will keep reading the comments and send the feedbacks to the software guys, though hard to ask them change all, but we will keep moving on.
LPK is the wrong wording. There is not a manufacturer on the planet that calls it litres per kilometre. It should be consumption. Also it’s litres per 100 kilometres. 🙄

Would really love being able to change the rpm range. There's a huge M3 and diesel base that will avoid this dash for that reason alone.

Not that I know of. However the retailer mentioned in this video did send me a few updates early 2023. If you got it from the same supplier, they will definitely look after you.

Now i am making the rev limit indicator on this cluster just like e90 m3 , and fonts can’t be change for time being but maybe in future, but working on rev limit indicator ( lights ) and SMG shift mode i will do also i am finding M3 cluster now

I bought a similar one for my F30, its incredible and I love it! the only downside though is that the fuel gauge isn’t accurate, sometimes it even increases sharply then drops..did you experience any of that??
No i didnt, however i thought fuel level was on the canbus, so the dash shouldnt really be calculating anything. Im not 100% sure on that btw

Any cruise control errors after you’ve installed it? My cruise control suddenly stopped working right after fitting this

@@shadiomar4193 If you have not sorted it yet you may have to set the dash to the oe max speed ( that is the official way) however I found my e92 335d had to be set to max 300kph although my oe inst had a max of 260kph. Go figure "Chinese quality control" ;) There is an update if that does not work.
Do you have issues after refueling fuel range doesn't update?? I refueling mine and not updated.
Please let us know when this is back in stock for the E90 😢 haha I was gonna sit on it but once you mentioned the price may go up on these. I’m definitely not trying to pay more 😂😂 If the price goes up I guess I’ll stick with OEM 🤷🏻♂️

Looks like a decent hardware but the broken English, inconsistent fonts and the like would drive me mad
E series 335s are selling around 20k mark in WA
07-10 n54 manuals even a bit more. Problem is they got too cheap for a while and the third/fourth owner thrashed the shit out of them and did ZERO maintenance. 😂
As soon I edit fule take to 59L and no sub the fule level gone down,so I don't how is this calculating🤔 Honestly I wish somebody sit there explain All the bucks to fix and this can be a best cluster.nice to see in any bmw

They need to add more themes. Those look all the same
I hope they add canbus inauguration to monitor boost and afr that would sell me on the product 100% and add different themes like something similar to Toyota Supra cluster or id4motion race theme and will the make this for e82
That’s where it will end up. If the manufacturer doesn’t do it some one will make the firmware for it

I ordered one of the clusters. Took forever to get it and then it only worked for 3 days. I emailed the company and they sent a replacement that has only worked for a week and now it has a dead spot in the screen. Return shipping is insanely expensive. No firmware updates can fix the hardware issues. They had me spend days trying to diagnose their problems with firmware updates and wiring. My original cluster works fine. Not at all satisfied with this product, total junk!

I would actually love it if it read MHD gauges. I put an Xtrons head unit (my 335i doesn't have iDrive), but I mainly use it for CarPlay. I'd love to be able to have CarPlay on the head unit and MHD on the cluster instead of an iPad sitting on my passenger seat.

Where is this service information coming from for the new cluster?
Becouse my
* brake disk from and back 37k miles to replace
* Spark plugs 6,700 miles
*oil 7,600 (I did my oil change 3 months ago, and I've done 4,500 sense then.
*brake fluid 18,000
*vehicle inspection 11,700
So I didn't edit this on the new cluster. Where did this information come to my new cluster.
This way, I know something is sending the signal, and I can reset using diagnostic tools when I do the actual service.
These are the best videos I've seen for this device, definitely subscribed now thanks for explaining in so much detail, i have same issues fuel gauge is not accurate, keeps fluctuating up and down no good if you run it too low, the temperature gauge is only on a quarter when it should be half way, the M logo is upside down, the bmw logo is missing when you start up, mine doesnt show a car on the left screen...not that i want it, changed it to mph but it still shows LPK, I've sent nwnav from aliexpress a detailed picture driven diagram of my issues hopefully I get these fixed, I've also bought the digital ac control unit which was listed for my F07 but doesn't fit, but it looks so cool I'm going to make it fit .... but that's a another's story... Great channel keep it up
Your supplier will need to send you the update firmware with those fixes. I think it has something to do with copyright on the m logo.... maybe. Regardless speak to your supplier and get that sorted asap.
There are so many issues with even the latest firmware i gave up with mine. Will use the old OEM one for time being. For me it looks too tacky with all the chineese characters, BMW logo upside down, text overlapping, different fonts, random errors on start up, does not show errors when the cluster is shut down so the car bongs but i dont know why, car image now not even a feature. Yes my fuel gague will read +- 15-20% depending when i glance at it. I tought i was going mad! Its annoying as all this stuff would be easy to fix with a bit of finesse. Shame its not open source as this is the olny way i can see this unit becoming massive - if the community can produce there own dashboards. ID4motion have sent everyone a survey asking why we dont buy it and one of the answers is "its too expesnsive" so seems they are listening...might see it come down in price soon

I was under the impression maybe..... Well on a N54 anyway. Do you know how your current guage gets boost?
@@ZeroTo60Tube Its the AK Motion gauge it is AWESOME. I just wired it into OBD, with a couple wires on my N54 e92. Not sure on the low level detail on how it accomplishes it though. The seller/creator is a true gent, great guy out in Germany. I am SURE he would love to work with you.
@@ZeroTo60Tube boost is available over canbus, for example my e92 is a stock n54, never flashed but protools can read boost, as can even basic apps like obd fusion with a Bluetooth dongle. It's likely just a programing issue, because if you want it to accommodate everyone it'll need to be able to display reasonably up to 30psi but more likely 40psi, and the people making 6psi would complain or say it's broken
@@matthewburns9552 I beleive protools does a OBD style request for boost. While that is fine. it wont work if you have a MHD dongle plugged in, as the request for the data needs to be sent continually. I beleieve MHD reads a portion of the memory for boost, but then MHD is also calculated boost not real sensor data. I have spent a long time looking in to it. Its definitely not straight forward. I actually dont think there is a canbus id that transmits boost data live.
@@ZeroTo60Tube I use a orange mhd wifi dongle for protools, it functions without issue displaying any data that protools can grab, including boost, boost targets, afr (b1, b2), and companies like p3 with the vent gauge can provide it as well. I believe many of us would accept a second cable we had to plug in the obd port if necessary to get this data but it all being canbus it should be available to the cluster anyways
The temperature cage is not in the middle even though my temp says 87° to 94°
I have one of these for my F10 and I wanted Navigation and music displayed on the sides. Do you know of anyone who could that for me with programming? Also is that a feature with a NBT wire like the new bmws😅. Would I be able to use the 14.9” xtron head unit to do so? The screen comes with two usb cables and the cluster with one. What if we could make it commincate those task that way?

great video ..I contacted these people on seeing if they did an E46 but they do not ,but said they would look into it after I replied back that I think that this cluster would be a seller for the E46 as there are a million still on the road and because the origina BMW cluster suffer a voltage burn out in the IC like my original and the Eprom is damaged so only remedy was to buy new or as I did buy a used one from Europe for $25 but that is a PITA getting it recoded ....sent it to an instrument repair place in Newcastle and they were hopeless ..long story short finished up sending used cluster to Canada to have it replogrammed along with EWS for milage etc.all works now but all up was a $700usd
I also think the 46 clusters would be a good seller. We’ll see what that come up with.

Looks very cool! If the software was open sourced this would have been an instant buy for me but having to depend on a chinese company for bug fixes/features doesnt make me feel warm and fuzzy, especially considering the potential an unlocked device like this would have.

It's partly why I never bothered with ID4motion either, I could stomach their initial purchase price but being locked down and praying for updates/changes that I could fix myself is no good. Not to mention their ludicrous add-on prices of course, having to pay 60-100€ for a different jpeg-background is extortion of the people who paid through the nose to keep them in business to begin with.
it display for those who have the ACC option who is the auto cruise control Stop and go ? thise option stop the car when the car in front stop. same question about the Departure Lane Warning or assist ? :)
Do they have one that will fit and work in a E82 135i?
For sure. Its better than ID4motion's cluster, but I criticized the same issue on both clusters. Why seperate front frame? The back plastic cover looks better and more realistic when compared with ID4motion. So, you don't need to cut airtube while installing this one, this is the plus. However chinese guys also preferred these two mounting bars that seems a bug's antenna. :) Are the vehicle inspection and other warning triangles in the cluster also shown in the cic screen? Well. Its a final release. However it looked like a prototype to me. And of course, should be improved.
The e90 doesn't need two times younger generation gauges I think. Well. This is my personal thought. The ID4motion's F10 and F30 style gauges are more suitable for the e90. (E60 too) However If I owned an F30 car, I'd definitely preferred g20 style gauges.

Ive just bought one of these clusters on my bmw f10 and its displaying the previous owners mileage, do you know how to reset it fully and to display the correct mileage

I installed in F32 420i 2017, I have two issues that could resolve, in the maintenance data in the oem screen disappeared the remaining life of breaks, oil, and other stuff. The rear fog light does not work anymore, any can help me

Hi i got this Digital display for myBMW E92 and i cant read the oil level pressure as well as reset tire pressure or access cruise control they seam to be locked ? Can you help please ?
Does the digital cluster is synchronised somehow with android auto somehow? And i saw, that there a several small bugs in the cluster, but you could update it via usb so there are newer versions of the firmware.

I just bought one but the odo is stuck on the previous owners odo. Do you happen to know the code to factory clear the unit? It’s a 4 digit code.
In BMW 430i 2016, This cluster gave me check engine light with OBD Fault code 1B9508, Any solution for this ? also the mileage on OBD shows as 100KM while in dashboard it shows the correct number..

By scale the rpm, are you saying that the rpm readings are inaccurate or is the range being displayed just too small?
Can you do a video outlining a standalone ecu (direct Injection delete) kit/ overall process cost.
On my second set of index 12s now 💀 fcp have been good for warranty but a DI delete would have potentially been more cost efficient at this point (or certainly saved alot of headaches)
Don’t tell anyone I said this, but a little birdie told me about di deletes coming to msd81 soon. 🤫
What happened to your injectors? The index 12’s are fairly reliable. Maybe it’s on the installer??
@@TML34 had them tested both just failed 1 leaky and the other split on the tip (about 40k on them) , hence the no issue return but it's just a pain in the ass having to wait for replacments.

I did recieve an update a few months ago, but i honestly havent had a chance to try it. It was supposed to correct a few font errors and add some features, like oil check. However i still really like. EVen with the glitches i mentioned back 8 months ago. Its a wicked dash cluster.
