- When travelling from the island of Penang down to the capital city of Malaysia we decided to check out the train first class. Here’s our first impressions of it!

Wow! This is amazing. I am a Malaysian and I must be living under a rock! I didn’t even know there’s a ‘high speed train’ between Penang (Butterworth) and KL. 4 hours is not exactly high speed but much better than the 80s when train journeys took 9-11 hours between the 2 cities.

U come down in wrong station. This is old KL station. Next station is KL central. New KL station.
KL train is the best in SEA. Fast and sleek design with beautiful and clean interior + AC.👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
Clearly, you’ve never been to Singapore. I’d say KL is the close second. But Bangkok and Jakarta have improved a lot too.

@@fab8490 not sure about you but the Malaysian MRT rolling stocks looks a lot cooler and futuristic than the reliable Kawasaki's and siemens of SMRT. Both has their perks.

Just looked up info about Malaysia's high speed train projects. China is a key partner. Malaysia's participation in the BRI project seems to be an on & off affair depending on its political wind. Meanwhile, Laos's successful train connection to China demonstrates coming late onto the BRI network can delay economic development. Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam are all speeding up their BRI projects, with the RCEP trade activities accelerating. It's a good thing for the US & its G7 partners to stay out of this region during the coming recession cycle. China is a huge market and trading from these countries is hopping.
Yes malaysia already constructing their second bri rail project which called ECRL connecting KL to the east coast economic region which is over 600km long and will be finished in 2026, meanwhile ETS extension will connect from border of Thailand all the way to border of singapore and will be finished in 2024

Dunno how long you've not seen the UK now, there's prayer rooms in Canary Wharf in London and Rendang in Waitrose as a ready meal
Plus virtually every major airport has a prayer/multi-faith room.

It is very cheap, in the UK, Birmingham to London, the ticket can be up to £100 or more.
Train prices in UK are crazy. They don't encourage people to take public transport at all!

you should drop off at KL Sentral station, it is the newest station compare to Kuala Lumpur station. From KL sentral you will get better option to get transportation to your hotel or another tourist attractions

damnit as a kid I took a train and there was no such thing as seat allocation. Stack as many in as you can. I ended up in the kitchen area and sat on a wooden box. By the time we got to KL I was stiff as LOL.

Tickets are been booked earlier and I had the no tickets to travel back to kl. as I'm a senior citizen i was disappointed.pls counter sales depth sell tickets on counter at all times.

How fast was the train going?
2.23 it showed 142 km/hr
Also based on my experience riding KTM and ETS, usual maximum speed of 145 km/h and never exceed 150 km/h.

I had the experience that folding bike in completely sealed luggage was not allowed into this train. Useless train to all cyclists.
