Fun fact: The Dome in STL originally was built for the Patriots, who were on the verge of being sold and moved, until Mr. happy ending stepped in; that's why the seats are red and blue, insted of just blue, or with gold added.
They could have also been red for the Cardinals football team (Big Red), as the prototype plans for the Dome were drawn up to keep the Cardinals in St Louis. However, I think the Patriots theory is more likely considering the lower concourse outside of the field area are painted red, white, and blue.
@@chrisp679, this is correct. STL already had the Stallions logo and swag all ready to go before the other two cities were awarded franchises instead. The Patriots option came along shortly after but was withdrawn, leaving STL with a partially completed stadium and no team - making the city ripe for the picking when the Rams were looking for a new home.
I attended the BattleHawks home opener and sat in the 300 section seats in the club level. I was shocked how nice the concourse was in the club level at the Dome. I didn't even feel like I was inside a football stadium, felt like I was walking through a hotel or office building. I understand the other concourse areas aren't as lavish but they didn't seem that bad when I walked through them. If the facilities at the Dome are considered obsolete I can't even imagine how nice they are at new stadiums like SoFi and Allegiant.
Fun fact: the Dome makes more money with the Rams no longer a tenant. It hosts a lot of events throughout the year including conventions, as it's attached to a convention center and used as extra space for large ones.
@@MilesTailsProweif the UFL does well after this season and happens to stick around the next couple years, I could see the city doing some kind of renovation to add a bit of a modern feel to the interior of the Dome
Fun Fact: The Dome at America’s Center has also been recently hosting an annual dirt track racing event in the stadium called the “Gateway Dirt Nationals.” Packing both Super Late Models and Dirt Modifieds into an extremely tight dirt oval that brings action and chaos to every event. #dirtindecember
3:26 UTSA also plays in the Alamodome and is also undergoing a renovation in anticipation for the 2025 Final Four by adding 18 new Club Suites on the southern end of the Club level.
I feel like the UFL could fill in some holes in places like Omaha, Virginia Beach, or up here in Portland. If we tore down Lloyd Center mall and built an Audi Field copy, the Timbers could even play in it since Providence Park is 5000 years old.
Nashville was not an expansion team but rather a transplant of the Houston Oilers (thus the name) to TN. The "Titans" name came along after all the trademark paperwork was complete.
Something to note about protective stadium is that other than the bjcc, top golf, and the "uptown", it's surrounded by abandoned everything. Houses, a church, a bank, a hospital, restaurants. You walk the wrong way out of the stadium, and you're greated by a run-down mess of a neighborhood.
I went to the Stallions game on Saturday for McCarron's return to B'ham. The vistlitors seating is pretty much facing the west. I'd hate to be stuck there on a hot AL afternoon. Btw, that side was blocked off for that game. Attendance was between 14 & 15k that day.
When (not if) the UFL expands, it needs to seriously consider skipping NFL markets and going into secondary markets. Markets like Omaha, Canton, Wilmington/Dover, Portland (ME or OR), Sacramento (had a successful CFL team), Hartford, Salt Lake, etc. Please no converted baseball stadiums. MLS or smaller college football stadiums are perfect.
Exactly! I've been saying this for years... Every time these spring leagues pop up, they make the mistake of just picking mostly large NFL markets & calling it a day. People in those areas have far more things to do & way more options when it comes to sports. Sure, there's more poeple to potentially buy tickets, but good luck building up any kind of fan base or loyalty. Choose smaller markets that would love to have pro football instead. Plenty of places would be thrilled to have a team to support, some with aspirations of attracting their own NFL team one day. What better way to prove their viability than showing out for a UFL team? The UFL needs to build a foundation of invested fans first & foremost. Being the 8th sports option in LA or the 50th entertainment option overall is not the way to achieve that.
The Roughnecks previously played at TDECU Stadium at the University of Houston but they had to switch to Rice because UH’s stadium is being renovated. They had way better attendance at UH
To be honest, an 18-25k stadium is optimal for the UFL. Fans at Audi are on top of the action and it has great sight lines. Having a pitch built for soccer can do that for you. The Alamodome is similar in that regard because of the small footprint it has, levels were built more up than out so fans again are on top of the action.
@@petertrudelljris the AlamoDome being advertised on ESPN because of the amount of fans it attracts, No. That is St. Louis because we pull in 30K at least each game
Audi Field was built for our soccer team, but MAN is it a great venue for football. I've only been to one game there, and I was blown away with how nice it is.
5:53 Can the new RFK Stadium be reconstructed to accommodate the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) of the National Football League, Old Glory DC of Major League Rugby, and the DC Defenders of the United Football League, considering that the original RFK Stadium and FedEx Field are scheduled for demolition between 2026 and 2030?
I love the Alamodome. I have so many memories there of concerts, monster jam, UTSA games and even my high school graduation. But I gotta be honest, it’s a mid stadium
You got Super Bowls VIII and IX confused. The Superdome was supposed to be for IX, but they had to use Tulane Stadium instead. Rice Stadium was used for VIII because it held more people than the Astrodome.
Five, love seeing you go back to your roots. I saw this: INSTANT SUBSCRIPTION! If only there would have been a team in Atlanta. They could have played in the Braves abandoned stadium. Atlanta vs Arlington could have been interesting: who has the better uneven, square peg in a round hole stadium.
The Dome at America's Center gets a bonus point in my book for easily having the best crowd atmosphere, though I suppose that has nothing to do with the dome itself and everything to do with the 20k people that show up to games here that don't in the other host cities.
What sucks is Houston used to play in TDECU stadium. Smaller but perfect for UFL and way better of a football experience. Then the UFL screwed Houston by taking the good team, rebranding the crappy one that didn't play in Houston, and moving them to the worst stadium possible. It sucks
I love Ford Field so I'm always in favor of more events there. However the attendance has been disappointing for the Panthers, considering that they are having a good season and seemed to draw better last year. Maybe the Lions could do more cross promotions and offer specials to season ticket holders.
While I'm a B-Ham fan by default; I couldn't agree more... DC is most definitely the best. It doesn't feel to empty when on TV, the size is more than adequate ( for now ), and above all else, they have the Beer Snake !
Even if DC's stadium is newer & has great sightlines, I'd still prefer the Battledome in St. Louis just due to the amount of fans that show out for these UFL games. It's a former NFL stadium, climate controlled, and has 30k+ people attending games already. If the UFL can be successful & continue to expand, I'd expect attendance in St. Louis to also expand. And because it actually has the capacity to do so (and fan interest), you could see 40k - 50k fans in several years attending a UFL game.
While the Alamodome has hosted pre season games between the Astros and the Rangers it is not really able to host MLB. This is because it was deliberately designed in such a way that with home plate in any corner one of the foul lines will be really really short (typically right field) setting it in the middle of one end means both sides are short simmiluar to the old polo grounds. On one of the long sides well no center field. makes for a lot of home runs and the short side is below the league minimum for regular season games
D... does FivePoints actually think the Titans are an expansion team? D... does he not know they moved from Houston and that's why they were the Oilers originally?

Little more research you can put a 35k+ fan base in a 20k arena STL has a brand new soccer stadium but UFL would loss more money on tickets sales. Plus the average ticket of a STL game is 3x the amount of the other stadium because of demand and only have 65% of the stadium open
Ford field hosts the annual state marching band competition, something my school never made until AFTER I LEFT! *grumble* Stupid sisters got to go😤. Its held around the same time as the high school football championships for the state

DC cant sell out a stadium. The attendance numbers in DC are getting worse and worse by the week. Sure the beersnake is cool but I don't think that its cool enough to top the energy that St. Louis fans bring to the table just by showing up to the games.
