Great overview! So, I was wondering do these balers require tractors with ISOBUS or do they work standalone with their own IntelliView III or IV? I've noticed them listed both ways on Tractorhouse etc. We've got a MXM175 and MXM155 so no ISO, and they might be a little light on HP I'm guessing as well. I've been eyeing going to big squares for a while but need a storage solution first as we've got a lot more moisture to deal with on first/second cutting. Our customers aren't always available to haul right away.
I have a 2015 caseih lb334r which is the same as a new holland 330 pulled by a caseih 2594. My monitor is a pro 700 with vt terminal downloaded. I would agree a mxm175 would be a bit light for that baler because mine weighs 23k the 340 plus I'm sure is around 25k. The older 940 new hollands are 16k so that might be a better fit
@@matthewthomas5494 Good to know, I could have the 175 flashed to a 190 to get a little more power out of it. We do have weights and duals as well. It runs our BR7090 Specially Crop great making 1500lb bales. We had a 2290 a few years ago, great engine but that powershift was in the shop every year.
Big square balers are a different animal to tow and operate. It's not the horsepower that is an issue. It's the weight of the tractor and size of the tractor that I would be concerned to control it unless you have tabletop land to go on cause I have gone for a ride on a hill with mine. Your 7090 with a bale in it is maybe 7000lbs
How do you balance your load setting with your hydraulic pressure? I want to crank it up as high as I safely can when baling straw, but don’t want to hurt anything either.
Straw I don’t think your gonna hurt anything crank it down until you break a string and then back it off straw and grain are spongy crops it’s not like alfalfa
@@SuperFriday88 yes, that’s what I’m doing. 10% wheat straw. It just scares me getting that analog hydraulic pressure gauge into the red. In your experience, I’d be safe doing that though huh?

They do have stand alone computers I run one on an 8970 have ran them on my 8870s as well you need 180 minimum in my opinion
