    I use the Black Star Hi Carb in all my comic work and its pretty much the best ink for comic artists out there, also FUN FACT you can put this ink in brush pens and technical pens so its p awesome, just can't use it with many other mediums.

    Thanks so much for a much needed review of these inks. One thing worth mentioning is that the Bombay ink is 1/3 the price of the Hi Carb versions. I go through many bottles/year and I find that the differences between the Matt and Bombay are not enough to justify paying 3x for the Hi Carbs. I always wonder about is how archival the Bombay is compared to the others. Like - if it's 1/3 cheaper - maybe it'll fade quicker over time if expose to UV light? I doubt it since they're all pigments and not dyes, but I wonder.

    The Black Star is definitely the "smoothest" for no nonsense calligraphy application by dip pen. This, plus its waterproof quality (say for addressed envelopes) and light fastness (archival manuscripts) sets it apart from most others in my opinion.

    Nah. I use hi carb ink with watercolours consistently; they’re my main media, and it’s perfectly safe. That was just an absurd amount of scrubbing. 😂 It’s also the most gorgeous shade of black! 💕 I’ll admit I was shocked about the alcohol, though!! I didn’t think it would make it bleed like that! O.o very useful!

      Marie Muzeizm I'm not sure if you're still interested but i believe she used a syringe to fill an empty cartridge of the pen. there should be an opening in the cartridge where it connects to the brush tip

    I have the Bombay black india ink but the ink drys on my G-nib constantly. It clogged the well so ink couldn't flow through smoothly and it was hard to wash off. I had to use rubbing alcohol to wash it off my nib. Could it be that the ink I bought was defected? Because my other brand Speedball superblack india ink flows through smoothly without drying on my G-nib.

    Completely Rekt the results by mixing everything. Using the same Pena nd stuff without cleaning first and then moving on when you used that single Brush without cleaning it first after each one for all of them I died inside.

    Lemia? I use the Black Star Matte with my alcohol markers after they dry for a few minutes and it doesn't smudge THAT much. Maybe it wasn't fair because u just poured the alcohol on? I'm not sure but they work well for me!

      Really? I let the ink dry for roughly 3 days and when I went over it with a copic, and it turned into a mess

    Is Lemi a type 1 diabetic? I noticed that she uses a syringe that diabetics use and it looks like she has a medical alert on her wrist :>

    • @Mr.StarktheShark
      @Mr.StarktheShark 7 лет назад

      She does have Diabetes (I forget but I THINK it's type 1) but mostly she just has to be careful to eat enough and keep her sugar up at a healthy level. I have a similar condition but I haven't been diagnosed with anything (yet). The syringe she used to test with these inks is an artist syringe, and isn't meant for insulin injections.

    • @LemiaCrescent
      @LemiaCrescent  7 лет назад

      ^_^ I am a diabetic! Type 1, you're right! LOL I totally forgot the little disclaimer about the syringe. D:

    • @LemiaCrescent

      Yup! Type 1 Diabetes. :D

    • @LemiaCrescent
      @LemiaCrescent  7 лет назад

      I do have type 1 Diabetes. :) It's more of a struggle than just eating. You have to balance high and low blood sugars, you don't produce any insulin being a type 1 diabetic. So everything you put in your body or inject like insulin has large effects. :( Easy to not feel well or get sick, constant balancing game. The syringe is actually a real one used for injecting insulin. LOL I don't have an artist syringe. :>
