This is my sons favourite song. My son is 15 months old. Every single time I put this on he crawls as fast as he can over to the speaker in our Lounge and stands and sways and dances to the whole song, start to finish.
Lyrics: Ascend to a higher place Leaving my earthly form behind Filling the empty space Drifting away as I go with the tide Memories fade, back to another life Of all of the days that I left behind When all that exists is just an empty shell of myself Fading away, 'til no reflection remains And you see me fall from grace Nothing will save me now Nothing will change the way it's been Way it's been now Ascend to a higher place Leaving my earthly form behind Filling the empty space Drifting away as I go with the tide The higher the climb The harder the fall A legacy built Will live through us all Ascend to a higher place Leaving my earthly form behind Filling the empty space Drifting away as I go with the tide Ascend to a higher place Leaving my earthly form behind
This song for me brought some long drowned out emotions to the surface, it was something I didn't know I needed till it happened. I processed those raw emotions helping me heal and grow.... absolute banger... RIP all those we've lost.
I have no words to adequately describe ... Haunting , melodic, Awesome. The storytelling in the video is spot on.I was lucky enough to catch the Acoustic Set at Download and that blew me away too.. see you at Bloodstock guys
Bloodstooooooock. Somehow missed seeing Malevolence twice: once because I didn't know about them at last Bloodstock and the second time at an Arcitect gig in Notts because I thought they were on later... third time is a charm. There set on the Saturday night is going to be bloody epic
The boys performing this song yesterday in Düsseldorf was one of the most beautiful moments I ever witnessed in a concert. Endless joy and sadness at the same time, crying while smiling ear to ear. Emotions I had neglected for a while suddenly all poured out. A cathartic journey. Five songs into the first of four bands and already the highlight of the evening. Thank you Malevolence.
I wish I was there. I feel you man. Next time they're near the Netherlands I definately have to go. This song is absolutely stellar, brought tears to my eyes as well.
Whos here after seeing them support Trivium at London Apollo? Wonder if these guys would tour with Architects as both are from Sheffield I believe. Another great night that would be
So proud of these lads! Had the pleasure of seeing/playing with them live a number of times in so many small venues and now they are absolutely taking off! They couldn’t possibly deserve it more.
Saw these guys in Lisbon opening for Obituary, Heaven Shall Burn and Trivium. I'm glad I went early and caught their set, it was really easy to become a new fan of theirs!
This song is just killer and top quality musicianship from Melevolance. I like every track on the new album but this ballad is something different and the lyrics are very relatable. Back in 2004 my mum died from cancer and in 2020 my mate James suffered with depression and suddenly died from suicide, I dedicate this song to both of them
Just heard of this band yesterday when they opened up for Trivium. Just pure stellar talent through and through and this song hits so much harder live. I’m a Malevolence fan now 🤘🏻👨🏻
Saw them open up at Knotfest in Melbourne, they were my highlight and I'd never heard them before then...just grabbed me by the balls and pulled me in.
Just watched them play this live and the whole stadium shook. The raw emotion was something else. Nice to see a metal band not afraid to play a "ballad" type song live. 😁
This band is what we didn't know we needed...smash your face hardcore with cure your face ballads....Greetings from Colorado, US....I love this band...can't wait for more.
So much pain in this world. I myself have had so much loss. But we have to overcome if we can be there for each other and help each other....what a world
An absolute gem in the middle of a load of bangers that make you wanna twat people in the face. This level of versatile songwriting is one of many reasons why I think Malev will reach the very top, proud to be English when lads like this are putting out ragers like Malicious Intent, long may it continue!!!
@@JustMeMio 100%!! Saw them about 9 years ago at a shitty little bar in Leicester and they absolutely smashed it despite hardly anyone being there.. then saw them this year at Alexandra Palace with about 10000 people going nuts.. fully deserved!!
I hate that these dudes aren't bigger in the US yet, still haven't been able to see them live. And I don't wanna see em opening for some corny band playing a shorter set, I wanna see them headline. I saw they're on Welcome to Rockville which is huge, just not sure I wanna do a festival 10 hrs away to see a few bands each day with one day being total garbage.
Just saw you guys play this Sunday in Anaheim, CA, USA. This song and Broken Glass immediately stood out to be. Listened to this album on my way home, added it to my library, and am definitely keeping tabs on you guys now. Awesome song, awesome album, love what you're doing with your sound!
U guys really did this song justice with this video. Big fan since the release of your last record and you can't help but admit the growth is immaculate with the way you've been crushing it! Not just rockin, but healing folks in the process 🎩👌🏽 hats off to you 🤘🏽⚡
The amount of passion just in the voices is amazing. First song I've ever heard from them, and only heard of them because they are touring with Jinjer and I wanted to see some of the supporting acts. I like the other stuff, but this song is just different.
Yeah i like their harsh stuff too, but this song and the otherside are both just in a league of their own and stand as their own unique works of art. There is a real emotional connection to be had in songs like this that the harsh stuff of any band rarely ever touches.
No idea that a metalcore'ish band wrote this song. It's been months since a song hit me like this. Both my parents are still alive, but they're already 70+ and getting their little problems from being elderly. This song is something I'd play on a funeral, and it reminds me that I should spend more time with my parents now I still can, cherish the moment and take all the life lessons from them that I can, as parents and human beings.
Everybody has or will have a story to allign with this track. There really is no limit to suffering. Alls you can do is try and keep it out of the driver's seat.
The maturity this band has shown over the years is fucking beautiful.. Yorkshire creates some of the best music the world has to offer. Keep up the work lads, fucking corker of a tune!!
Saw these guys play before Trivium in Riverside last night. Never heard of them but they put one hell of a fucking show. And this was the best song they played
bro, do you wanna cry today? what a song. what a video.
This is my sons favourite song. My son is 15 months old. Every single time I put this on he crawls as fast as he can over to the speaker in our Lounge and stands and sways and dances to the whole song, start to finish.
That's so sick! Little mosher in the making 🤘
That's badass. Kid has taste though
@@NuclearBlastRecords I love all of the bands on your record. Like fit for an autopsy, machine head
This kid f'in gets it!
I'm 396 months old.
No words to explain the love for this band❤
True
They are something special
Lyrics:
Ascend to a higher place
Leaving my earthly form behind
Filling the empty space
Drifting away as I go with the tide
Memories fade, back to another life
Of all of the days that I left behind
When all that exists is just an empty shell of myself
Fading away, 'til no reflection remains
And you see me fall from grace
Nothing will save me now
Nothing will change the way it's been
Way it's been now
Ascend to a higher place
Leaving my earthly form behind
Filling the empty space
Drifting away as I go with the tide
The higher the climb
The harder the fall
A legacy built
Will live through us all
Ascend to a higher place
Leaving my earthly form behind
Filling the empty space
Drifting away as I go with the tide
Ascend to a higher place
Leaving my earthly form behind
thx 💪🏻

Hey Tyler, so glad you had such a connection to the song, it's a stunning one for sure! Hope you are all good 🖤
You doing alright man? Been a few months, hoping to hear you're doing better.

Hey, Carolyn! If you like melody check out the Band Manes! Check out the song Young Skeleton, and the album Slow Motion Death Sequence!
Their cover of crawling in that set felt like the closest thing I'll ever see to an LP acoustic set. His voice is incredible

Saw them play it in El Paso a couple of months ago and it was sublime. Wonderful song!
these guys deserve more recognition in the states. such an underrated band.
only in the states?
Fucking love this band man. There hasn't been a band that has captured my attention as much as these guys.
amen to that
Caught my attention as well
What a masterpiece this whole album has been and this video just adds to it amazing as aways.
That vocal harmony at 4:13! What a track!
I haven't watched a full music video all the way through in years. Incredible and kept my attention, love the storyline and the band. New top fan
Best guitar solo I've heard in a long ass time, truly a work of art!
Totally agree! That solo went right in the feels from the very first moment I heard it, absolutely outstanding stuff right here 🔥🤘🏾
You can tell bro really poured his heart into the music. Not that they all dont but goddamn that guitar solo.
Yeah he really made that thing sing didn't he. This whole song is a work of art. Instant classic.
Outstanding video for a perfect song.
👏👏👏
Been in a pretty dark place in the last year.....this band is my therapy

We just did an Arena tour with Architects dude, they are from the south not from Sheff tho 😉
One song just told a better story than most hollywood films ngl to you
wow, einfach nur wow! die dynamik, emotionen, wie sehr es einem durch die haut geht ist einfach nur atemberaubernd!!!
