If you don’t seem to be having any cold air it could be the blend doors blending hot with the cold air and you just get hot out check that out on RUclips
I’m thinking of purchasing a 2000 beetle 5spd with manual windows and wanna kno if it’s a reliable car to buy? Also they say ac needs recharge but could be something else??
Wait at the end you muttered something about "the relay switch on the drivers side", do you have a video of this being addressed or any other info about that comment?
Brandon Doskey that was the same case with this vw. It was turning but it was wore out and it could not compress the air enough. So it was blowing warm air. Let it run for a few minutes then shut off the engine and touch both hoses. If one of them is not really called than you need new compressor. If it is cold and you are still getting warm air than it is the temperature switch on the dash
+Steven Gillikin Yes, it should be pretty much the same. Try adding only half a can and see if you can notice difference. If you can go ahead and that the rest of the can. We had many in the past that the compressor was leak and needed to be replaced. How many miles are on your Beetle and what engine?
+World Mechanics We bought the vehicle last week...it was a one owner with only 20k miles so it has done a lot of sitting. It has the 2.5 gas engine. I checked it this morning and it was only showing about 10 on the gauge....low green on the indicator. I will add some this PM and see what that does. Do you still suggest half a can? 12 oz or 19 oz? Thanks
j charles It is recommended to. In some cases you can recharge it without vacuuming the system down. If your compressor failed you might have some debris in the system. This is one of the cases that you need to vacuum the system
I like you're video brother I like it more when you specify what size socket/ wrench you're using etc., thanks be safe. Very Respectfully, Hugo Melchor USN Retired.

This video made no sense to me. You start out adding Freon, and then you said you were on second can to get to 700g but it was not Freon you were using anymore. You were using SEALANT with UV dye! NOT MORE FREON! Why were you using that?
This is a pretty old vid. It appears you forgot the first step in charging an AC system. First you MUST vacuum the system. A vacuum of -28g must be obtained at sea level and the vacuum continued for another half hour. This will remove all moisture and air from system. After reaching -28g and continued vacuuming for half an hour you shut off pump and watch system to make sure there are no leaks. Then you add coolant along with oil and stop leak. If you are going to post a procedure you must FIRST know what you are doing. I learned AC systems while a BMW mechanic at a BMW dealership. The AC man hurt himself and could no longer do the installs. Service manager calls me to his office. Said here are the manuals and we need the new Alfa-Romero completed in two days. Manual called for a 16 hours to install. Had to dissemble half the car. Then I was doing new 320Is plus new car prep in a day each.

what if your compressor is still turning but the air is coming out hot. is that a freon issue?

Have a 2006 Beetle. The air is cool but not cold and I assume it needs refrigerant. Does this follow the same procedure as the 2005 in this video?

Good evening , I have a problem in the air the wind in my beetle , it does not trigger the speeds ... What could be the problem?

Great job, thanks, Dave! 2000 TDI Beetle 5-speed!😎
Is it the same for a 2000 2.0 Beetle?
yes

how about 2.5L Beetle?
Yeh Tracy Refrigerant = 18.6 ounces up to 19.5 ounces maximum charge or about 1.25lbs
Problem..show us where things are. Where is this recharge port for a model after 2005? Less talk, more showing us exactness.
Is this a 2.0
spscorse it is a 1.9 tdi. The 2.0 gas will be almost the same procedure.
thanks that was helpful
Its hard to make a video on a rattling diesel engine lol..All you hear is a bunch of jibberish..😅
Cold ✅
Heater ❌ 🙄
