Great job Gary! We're so glad you guys were able to explore and enjoy your adventure before you came back home. You both inspire all of us to seek out the adventure! Happy New Year!
Good Thing whilst in New Zealand to do, would be both of you going to a Skin doctor and get a mole map and face check. The UV's down these ways are extreme. Always use good quality sun block!
Lovely video. The changing of that shackle was epic. The hand saw, not so much. You didnt say how long it took. Changing a rusted shackle on land is a huge undertaking but underwater???, you THE MAN!
Ha, yeah that was an interesting task. It actually didn't take as long as we thought. Gary was able to do it with just one scuba tank and it took about an hour.
I'm writing to you FROM the original redwood forest area. Believe it or not, we would call those toothpicks. That said, its really good to see them flourish there as the logging companies have cut the original "Old Growth" forest except for the ones still living in Parks. They can be two to three thousand years old and are the tallest trees in the world !
Hello, Glad you both made your separate sea and land trips, enjoyed them and everything was ok. Really good to see you both back on one life and preparing for more land adventures. Enjoy. And Merry Christmas. Ciao. geo
Your crescent wrench looks about as rusty as the shcakle! Great video, loved the cutting back and forth so that we could see what you were doing in relation with what the rest of you were doing.
Great video and inspiring to watch not only your adventure, but how much you want to share it with your friends and family. The van/boat duo video was pretty cool. Well done. Oh, and Merry Christmas to the entire One Life family!!!
Hello, I just was looking at videos of all the shark attacks in Australia. I don't know if there are any around New Zealand. I hope you two are very careful going in the water over there, it sounds like it could be dangerous. Take good care. ciao. geo
Hey one life, love your videos.... Merry Christmas. To all. ( side note, @ 13.06-12 Addy had her feet on the dashboard... everybody do your self a favour and google that and see what happens in the event of even a very minor accident. show your children and love ones) sorry happy holidays peace to all....
Another great video. Looking forward to the road trip. Keep up the good work 💪 & have a very merry Christmas ❤ SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
Thank you! We appreciate you coming along with us! We received the water maker while in Auckland but as of this episode haven't installed it yet. You'll see the install in a future video!
Looking out for lights, light houses, lights that aren't where they should be. Anything unusual or out of place. Your night vision can help you see pretty well.
Brooke......as an old sailor who didn't know better to take care of yourself back in the 60's & 70's, I've since had different skin cancers, but the worst was on my lips. Hate to mention, but your lips look like they need some better care & TLC! Congrats on your adventures & keep on sailin" on!
Hey John! Thanks for the concern. I'm constantly putting sunscreen and such on but I can't seem to find anything that works for my lips. I actually went to the dermatologist recently to get a full check. Thankfully all clear at this point. Happy Holidays!

I just love watching your adventures and overcoming whatever gets in the way. Speaking of which, did you ever get that water maker replaced?
Thank you! We appreciate you coming along with us! We received the water maker while in Auckland but as of this episode haven't installed it yet. You'll see the install in a future video!
Hey guys 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
Hello there!! Happy Holidays! 🎄❤️
Classic pie and coke
Doesn't get much better!
When on a night watch, what are you "watching"? Computer screens? Silhouettes? What else can you see?
Looking out for lights, light houses, lights that aren't where they should be. Anything unusual or out of place. Your night vision can help you see pretty well.
Other boats travel at night with lights. It is good to be alert and steer clear of other vessels too.
Traveling during a full moon is easy. When it's not there a tablet with charts.
@@laurence9695 You make it sound so complicated. Every 20 minutes, scan the horizon, see that the stars and waves are where they belong.
@@sails3538 That moon was 3rd quarter. It rises at midnight. Until then, starlight is pretty bright, but not much to see.
❤❤❤
Thanks, Bob! 🥰
