It's nice to see a man be a plantaholic!! Lol I have recently been getting more and more plants my hubby doesn't get it but they make me happy!!! Thanks for your videos I love watching them!!
You might find this interesting. I went to a Mennonite farmers market and inquired about some plants they had unlisted & unpriced, under the table tucked away. The teenage boy comes out and tells me that those are cotton plants. My reply to him was, "you mean cotton plants, like the cotton you pick plants"? He said yes and I replied, "I didn't think we could grow cotton in Ohio." I asked if they are forsale? He said you can have them if you want, so he gave them all to me. All five plants picking off the cotton pods off of them except for one. Not sure why he did that. For the seeds perhaps. I'd guess. I was so excited! It made my day. Three days ago my only cotton pod opened up with four balls of cotton and I got to see first-hand and handle live cotton with a seeds in it!! It was awesome!
lightsobrite wow. That’s amazing. I’d be excited too. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cotton plant in life, that would be so cool to see the first cotton ball 😃💚
I suggest going to Texas! I lived there a year for work. And the fields of cotton are insane! It’s everywhere. And so amazing to see it growing! Makes you think about all the work that goes into it! Great score on cotton! Amish cotton even! Color me impressed!
I absolutely love stories like that. I'll bet that every time you see your cotton plants, that story comes to mind and you never tire of it. Thanks for sharing that with us. Your visit to the Mennonite farmers market was more than happenstance! You were meant to have them. Darryl
Bought a 2 foot, 4 leaf, beautiful monstera plant for 5$ 😊 im in love lol. I never thought i could love plants so much.. but for sure the monstera has captured my heart 💚
After seeing your vid about propegating my Monstera, I started two new plants!! I am potting one today as a housewarming gift to my son and daughter in law! The cutting actually unfurled a new baby while rooting!! I hope they love it 🥰 Thanks for the encouragement to try!!

Your right I have a Monstera it's two years old now, you can imagine how big my plant has grown. I love my Monstera, I water my plants only once a week. I put rocks at the bottom of all my pots to avoid root rot. Since I'm not really a fan of pots with wholes. Your making me wont to purchase another baby Monstera, grow this one upwards. My Monstera is currently growing wild, I love it.
@@livdamaguilar4765 you usually keep monsteras indoors, except if you live in really hot and moist climate. Generally you can choose a pot with a hole in the bottom for drainage and put it on a coaster or a pot without a hole but then you need to make sure the soil doesn't rot at the bottom. This is why you put little rocks under the soil.
@@anja3221 So true. I live in Florida. Morticia, my Monstera, is in my sun room. I just purchased a 3 foot mature monstera for ONLY 30 DOLLARS at my local nursery the root system was absolutely gnarly and it was so root bound so good thing I got a bigger pot for it too. I had to buy it because it was such a steal and I've been looking for a fairly priced mature monstera for months now. I got so lucky!! love your vids by the way!

Omg. Thank you for this video! I was trying to figure out what to do with my monstera guy. He keeps spreading out! I need a MOSS POLE! Thank you so much. And I also need to take him out of this HUGE pot. So many good tips!

A Canadian fellow 💯🏁! Definitely gotta show support and subscribe 😆. My sister recently got me a Monstera; this video is very informative. Thank you 🙏!
I bought a monstera at Home Depot last year, separated them from the nursery pot (I got 4 plants) and they all did well, they are pretty forgiving like the peace lily. Anyway, I put one out on my patio for summer, mostly hot windy and dry this past summer, and brought it back inside in the fall. Compared to the indoor ones, it has strong stems, and much bigger leaves, with splits and holes :)
You may have already answered this... but do you have a video on how to care for damaged leaves? I have one that has a couple but I’m afraid to cut them.

Wow your monstera has grown a lot! Mine is about 6 months younger than yours if i recall well. I think it's due for a fertiliser boost because fishtank water may not be enough, it's not growing huge yet but it's really healthy though! I make it climb vertical using a round tomato tray, and I attach each stem to it to shape it the way i want, it works well so far. It's also less visible then a moss pole so for me it's a plus. Keep up the good work!
@@CrazyPlantGuy - My pleasure, you could do a video if you do use a tomato tray for one of your monsteras! It's a little tricky to place but since you do it just once it's okay and the stems can handle a little bending as you place them in and out of the tray. As for fishtank water, yes, it's pure liquid gold, believe me! It may just no provide enough for a growing monstera, but for the rest It works very well!
My monstera was gifted to me on Easter of 2017 and in the almost two years I’ve had him, I repotted him initially from the 12 gallon pot he came in, to a 25 gallon ceramic pot and he grew so quickly in just a couple months because I had the luxury of having him outside on a shaded porch, with plenty of indirect sunlight. Late last year I attempted to mount him to a moss pole, and he’s not as bulky as he was, as most of his heft is now strapped to the pole but that’s something I’d really consider to anyone wanting to purchase these-as someone recently asked me to propagate a baby from this plant and I don’t know if they have the room for it as an adult plant! Especially if you have them outdoors for part of the year like me; having to haul it in winter is a pain!
fern face Do you think he is healthier since you added the moss pole? I just bought a monstera that is in need of repotting. The roots are growing out of the bottom holes in the 10” nursery pot and there’s several aerial roots. It’s about 40” tall with 15-20 leaves. Do you have any suggestions for me?
I bought a house that had a bonus atrium that is 14x12. I gad 1 plant. That was 2 years ago n niw i have about 60. I bought a monstera fir $3 on marketplace n i m just in love. With it. All of the videos I have watched on caring for and propagating my plants ... your videos have been the BEST!! I am receiving delivery for a MONSTERA D. today and I wanted to watch this video by you so I would know where would be the best place in my home for it. Also how to keep it HEALTHY and THRIVING. THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING!!! P.S. I will let you know how we are doing ::)
Hello, I love your videos! At 2:21, I saw a single yellow stem and leaf in the bottom. I have exactly the same one with my Monstera and that single yellow stem and leaf looks firm and doesn't seem to have any problems except that it is all yellow. The leaves including the yellow one doesn't even have any brown spots anywhere. My Monstera looks healthy overall. Is there any problem with my plant? If you're a crazy plant, guy, then I'm the overly anxious plant guy. Lol! Should I remove it?
You have beautiful plants. Trying my hand at propagatjng my monstera for my son's new apartment. My question is how can i help it stay more upright then hang down in my pot.? What can i use to help it?
Hi!! Love the videos! So informative and interesting. Hoping to have a question answered if that's ok! When the leaves get damaged and torn should you clip them off? Also how do the recover/what does the main plant do to regrow after taking a cutting? Thank you, hope to hear back from you soon!
excellent! I'm gonna try to save a monstera plant I rescued from the grocery store. What is your favorite oil/liquid to wipe down monstera leaves for cleaning?
i would love to have a lot of plants in my house but too sad mostly died, now, i bought this beauty- monstera a year ago, and i would say it’s the only plant I had the longest alive in my home. I am super happy with it, and sometimes i forgot to water it but this plant is pretty a fighter😄I guess i will wipe its leaves too like what you’re doing.thanks for the awesome ideas too.
beautiful! where did you get your moss pole from? i can't find any online in canada and my young monstera is starting to droop and grow wild but i want to keep it growing upwards + start vining.
Thanks for sharing this video. Is the yellow leaf at 7:25 a sign of overwatering, lack of nitrogen, or something else? I have a young monstera, and sometimes the smaller leaves turn yellow like this, even when I let the soil dry out to 100% over the course of a week.
My monstera plant got too heavy & I had it staked to a thin bamboo pole. Today a stem broke completely, leaving the entire part of the plant hooked to its Ariel root which I read couldn’t sustain the plant. Anyway I was panicking and then realized it had about 8 Ariel roots growing out of it, so I found these videos abs now I’m trying to propagate for the first time!!!
I inherited a large monstera in a gorgeous monstrous pot with no holes. He is doing fine...currently living in indirect light on the lanai (I’m in SW Florida). Using plant tape I taped the heavy branches to a pole. I know I don’t water him as much as he would like but I get so worried about the lack of drainage. Should I repot him in a grow pot and use the current one as a catch pot? I could support it on rocks/bricks underneath the grow pot.
Hej Christian, could you maybe do a video about problem shoot at a monstera? I‘d like to see some interesting and important facts from you - and your methods of solving problems. Thank you, greets from germany

As for fishtank water, yes, it's pure liquid gold, believe me! It may just no provide enough for a growing monstera, but for the rest It works very well!
I found mine yesterday at Walmart too! Total surprise and the only one left.
Congrats. Great finds, some of my best plant finds are unexpected. 😁
Getting my first Monstera next week! Thanks for this video!
What do I do about droopy monstera ???
I want to know this as well 😔
My monstera was gifted to me on Easter of 2017 and in the almost two years I’ve had him, I repotted him initially from the 12 gallon pot he came in, to a 25 gallon ceramic pot and he grew so quickly in just a couple months because I had the luxury of having him outside on a shaded porch, with plenty of indirect sunlight.
I really love this plant Monstera I try to Propagate today. And love your plants
Fantastic vid; very thorough and to the point!!!👍

Can we get an update on your baby Thai monstera? Love your vids!!
I love the way he feels his plants are real human. 😍
Enjoyed the video and how you explain things. Great job. Love your plant tours also.
Kathy Gilbreath Thanks Kathy. Glad you enjoyed the video. 💚🌿
Great video & your plants are beautiful.
Peggy Lee Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. 💚
i can't get enough of monsteras
i would love to have a lot of plants in my house but too sad mostly died, now, i bought this beauty- monstera a year ago, and i would say it’s the only plant I had the longest alive in my home.
Such an informative video about monsteras. Thank you for sharing your experience.
Awesome video. My Monstera is growing a bare (bold no leaves) thick branches w. Is this normal? Looks so ugly
Wow I’m in love with you and your plants
Great video. You should do a video of the monstera adansonii if you've got one.
Lynda I did just get one. The Adansonii is one of my latest addition to the plant fam. I’ll be featuring him on my next plant haul video. 💚😃🌿
Helllo !! i love your vieos. also from ontario :D May you please make a video on how to usse pumice, or clay leca balls . PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Im Soo Glad I Watch This Video I Could've Done Some Damaged To It.Thank You,It Help Me Out A Bit.
I do grow Elephant ears outside and they are thriving. They're under shade cloth also
My monstera plant got too heavy & I had it staked to a thin bamboo pole.
Wow it grew a lot in one year. I just bought one at Trader Joe’s I hope it grows fast too👍🏼
I inherited a large monstera in a gorgeous monstrous pot with no holes.
Do you secure any stems to the moss pole or only let it happen naturally? Thanks!
Ommmmggggg your Plants are beaaaaaautifuuullll
Beautiful plant sir, thanks for sharing
Yours grows so neatly upwards, mine goes to all sides but up. :)
LynnieMinh you should get a moss pole so it can grow up as well.
Crazy Plant Guy yeah but I don’t like how they look. Im looking for a different solution. 😅
