The pointy bloke singing would be Terry Bradford, who wrote the song. This was the third SfE finals appearance for CoCo/ Main Event (bit of a cheek, going back on it two years after winning the final!), and Cheryl would have a fourth crack with Bucks Fizz the following year!
Minxbadge, the poster and the presenter (Terry Wogan on the video) both say that the group is called, 'The Main Event'. You say it isn't and give no alternative or explanation for your strong (!!) disagreement. Can you expand. I notice that Cheryl had 3 attempts at the ESC, 2 succesful, Coco and one as winner with Bucks Fizz. I don't like this much but loved, 'The bad old days' by 'Coco' (1978?). Does Cheryl sing (much/at all) as I don't tend to hear her in these bands.
Cheryl is wonderful, but this song is very lame. Coco's song "The Bad Old Days" was much better. Nevertheless, thanks for posting this video it is always great to see Cheryl.
Wow - it takes huge effort to turn out a performance as lousy as that one! How did the guitarist play his instrument - he was holding hands with one of the singers most of the time! This only proves the power of perseverance in showbiz. Cheryl Baker went on to win Eurovision with Bucks Fizz, and launch a celebrity career that's kept her in stain pants and blow dries ever since. The tone-deaf, rhythm-free backing singer on the left (seen in close up @ 2.34) is none other than Julia Roberts. No, not the Hollywood movie star (DURRR!) This British Julia Roberts is a bit-part actress/model/singer/presenter/general TV girl Friday who landed herself a QVC presenter job when the channel first launched in the UK. All these decades later aged sixty-something she's still there, raking in the money and free products. Doesn't it make you sick?!
Ooooh.I've never heard this song before, but I'm already liking it on the first listen ! Much prefer it to Bad Old Days.
Thanks.

The fabulous CoCo under their new name The Main Event - this should have won. Fantastic!
The other girl from Coco (1978) is seeing backing vocals on this!!!!She is on the right.
Yeah i'd love whatever you've got please!

Actually, it's quite good. It's matter of taste.
