    Congrats! I can see your excitement. It is a great car (I have the same in white, but leather interior). Looking forward to more of your great vids and diy! Enjoy!

    Sonax alcantara cleaner does a great job in helping keep the alcantara on the steering wheel "fresh."

    • @GTSilver

      Thank you for the tip! I was just thinking about what products to use earlier today!

    • @Baerchenization
      @Baerchenization 7 лет назад +1

      As long as you didn't smear chocolate or Mc Dondal's on your alcantara, you should use an "alcantara brush", only. If your wheel looks "worn" already, you'll have to brush it quite a bit, but it will look like new again. Btw, Porsche say that you should brush it every day ! Alcantara is high maintenance :P
      Also, the red dial (guards) comes with every GTS as standard. You could still option all the other dials red, but since this is a special GTS only feature, I would leave it like that...

    • @KarlHargreaves
      @KarlHargreaves 5 лет назад

      @@Baerchenization I got white dials in mine, which match the colour of the car. UK car though.
      Don't stress too much over any wear on the steering wheel alcantara. I'm not the first owner of mine, and it's coming up to 15k miles, but the alcantara still looks fresh.

    Congrats on the purchase!
    I, too, was bothered by the top center marker on the steering wheel. An easy solve is to put gaffer racing tape. Looks really good.

      Thanks for the tip! I’ll try that. It’s the little details that in my opinion balance out the visuals and experience of the car. I am just surprised that PAG / PCNA is leaving so much money on the table…. I mean, they charge US $165 for an aluminum-look” plastic gas cap that no one ever sees, when they could be charging like $225 for more steering wheel styling options (and even more for deviated stitching on the wheel!).

    Beautiful...Congrats!!!!!
    I struggled with 2 different CPO'ed 911s when I bought a few weeks ago, one being an almost identical GTS as yours but with the Sport Design package (ducktail and front spoiler). Budget put me into a perfect black C2S with manual and sunroof delete along with all the options I love like PSE and Sport Chrono.. was too good a deal to walk away from.

      Also completely agree with the 18 way seats.. had them in my Macan GTS as well. I do disagree however on the ventilated seats (AC).. I live in NC so it gets hot with a black on black car and that has already saved a few swamp butt episodes I am sure.. lol.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад +1

      Sounds like you made a wonderful choice in the C2S! You really can't go wrong with the 991.1 range -- I had a '14 C4S prior, and loved that car. Just the kid in me wanted more out of it, and before I went full-tilt batty and poured money into the 4S figured I'd change the game a bit and go with an NA-engined GTS. Very happy I did!! I did try to find a unicorn GTS car with sunroof delete, PCCBs, GTS interior and all other bits, but that just didn't happen and I couldn't keep my money just rotting in my wallet! LOL! Thanks for watching!

    I'm jealous of the center locks, they look amazing
    Also, that interior is decked out! Shame on the previous owner for skipping out on those other gauges. I hear replacing the sportchrono gauge face is a pita, I'll wait for your DIY on that
    Congrats on the purchase!

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks Jay! I also love the CLs and was one of the must-have options for me in choosing the GTS.... I came across a number of GTS' that had 5-lugs, and visually just looked like my previous '14 C4S IMO. As soon as I get my torque wrench I'll do a much closer review/DIY for the CLs as I want to get the wheels off a) so I can inspect for any issues with the inner wheel, tires, suspension, and other bits in the wheel-well, and b) to clean/opticoat them. Also I am looking-into the gauge face change, and will have more on that soon. If I recall from looking at the procedures, the SC clock will be much easier than pulling the dash apart for the other gauge faces!

    Congrats on the purchase. I, like you, also recently purchased a Porsche and I would have to say I owe you a big thanks for your vlogging. I watched many of your videos, in fact, my cousin in Switzerland recommended you and he's in the process of getting a Porsche.
    I recently made a ton of purchases on Suncoast and I'm hoping to use some of your DIY videos to install them. Do you have much experience taking off the rear bumper? I'm not very handy but I'm thinking to change the tail lights on my '14 TTS to the clear sort, as well as, installing carbon fiber illuminated door sills and maybe to a BMC air filter.
    I bought a customized hood emblem and I'm waiting for it to arrive, but I will certainly use your video to guide me through the process.
    Thanks again for all you do.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      PashaJ thank you!! Yes, I have video of rear bumper-cover removal, as well as DIY swapping OE filters for BMC performance filters... I just haven't had the time to edit and upload. Promise to do it soon! I am probably going to also remove the rear cover again this week to inspect the PADM dynamic mounts -- I recently started getting a warning message that PADM has been disabled and I suspect it is an electrical issue. The mounts are easily accessible with the bumper cover off. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I am on Rennlist 991 forums as Plenum, and also check out my blog (link in description above...) for more detailed articles.

    • @PashaJ
      @PashaJ 7 лет назад +1

      Great, I look forward to the new videos. I would like to swap out for BMC air filters as well. Do you know if the bumper removal for a Turbo S is the same as it is for a GTS? I ask because the spoilers are different. I'll be in touch with you over on RL.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      PashaJ - the removal of the TT / TT S rear cover is exactly the same across all 991's. The TT cars aren't any different. The only variation that is different in one step is the GT3 - the GT3 doesn't have the active aero wing to raise when accessing the covers and bolts holding the taillights in place.... or the bolts along the top edge of the cover. So you shouldn't have any issue and honestly the procedures are quite simple. Just take your time when working with the removed cover so you don't scratch it....

    You're right regarding the Dials. Porsche should made them all Red. I bought a dummy key Red. Which highlight the area much nicer. Something to think about.
    Congrats!

      Antonio Carlos the GTS interior pack with carmine by default has only the center dial in red, the previous owner didn't spec it like that. With silver all dials are black.

  • @LOLuniverse08
    @LOLuniverse08 7 лет назад

    I believe the problem you had with the dials not being all red and the chrono clock not being in red is due to the GTS interior package. You can't change all the dials to be red nor can you change the chrono clock to red. If you do that, the gts interior package is cancelled. At least that's what happens when you go into the online configurator. I can be wrong though.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks CurryPowder! I believe you are correct - others have mentioned the same. Something I learned as a new GTS owner!

  • @57gord
    @57gord 7 лет назад

    Pretty sure that single red dial is the way it comes from the factory.....if you go with that alcantara package. I'm not a fan of that look, (alcantara or carbon fibre) plus I did want to try vented seats for those humid days and it does help, as I've found out. Look forward to future posts since we have very similar cars. Other than mine having awd and a manual tranny.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks for taking a look! Actually the center dial in red is on the build sheet as Code "027 - Instrument Dials in Carmine Red." So No, don't believe it is included as part of the GTS interior in black/alcantara/carmine deviated stitching. Note the word "dials?" It apparently means only 1 dial..... LOL! In perfect world, I would love to have the ventilated seats -- but my higher priority was the GTS alcantara. My previous 4S had the heated/ventilated seats in leather and I did like that.... More videos coming-up!

    • @57gord
      @57gord 7 лет назад

      Maybe the red dial thing is only up here in Canada? The dealer had one just like your's a while back.

    • @Joe_Hutchinson
      @Joe_Hutchinson 7 лет назад +1

      First, congratulations on your GTS! As a 2015 991.1 GTS owner myself, I love the car. I think you will too. It is sooo great. Regarding the single red dial, that is the way the GTS interior package comes. I believe the thinking is that the tachometer is the most important dial, so it is in red to catch the driver's attention over the other dials.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks, Joe! Love your videos and appreciate you taking a look at mine! Any idea, on the build sheet, why there would be a separate code for 027 Dials in Carmine if included in the GTS interior package? Other GTS bits aren't listed separately like that... Either way I feel that the look would be more balanced with red gauges across the cluster.

    • @Joe_Hutchinson
      @Joe_Hutchinson 7 лет назад

      Not sure why that is. Weird, right? Thanks for the compliment. Keep your videos coming!

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Oh man, I kept thinking I should add the cold starts that I've recorded already! I may just post-up a "Cold Start" video soon! Cold start daily? Hehe. In all honesty tho, I am a complete hack when it comes to refined video recording / editing, and just getting any video to a half-assed state takes me a long time! But, I'll keep charging forwards and many more videos to come (I'm waiting for good day to do an "active tracking" drone vid with the GTS and my Mavic...).

      Thank You! I'll give the car a bit of time to sort-out any issues before I make the major changes, but so far all is nearly perfect (well, a did discover a couple little minor things -- more on that in next video!) and I'm looking to order-up the required parts for the duck in the next month....

    Any update on the tinted windows? Have you had to replace them? I'm considering a similar car in VA..

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  6 лет назад

      Scott - I have not had any issue with the tint. Have now gone through PA state inspection as well as a pull-over by county police without any mention of the tint at all. So I think all is clear on that front. I was worried initially as it is dark.... Thanks for watching!

    Yellowed stone guards is common. You really over never notice it on white cars.

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks Joe! I've heard the same, but honestly am a bit surprised how yellow these are for a car that has been babied and well-maintained. On my '14 C4s after a bit more than two years I didn't see yellowing at all -- and that was a GT Silver colored car. I think either the guards are yellowed, or perhaps the paint under the PPF is not as polished as the uncovered parts. I may "complain" as CPO car and see what PCNA come back with. Cheap enough replacement, and I am going to wrap the car different color anyways... Just something as an owner bugs me!

    • @GTSilver

      Hi! That would be interesting... LOL. Porsche West Broward -- but they picked it up from a Chevy (!!) dealer, and according to CarFax this GTS was first sold from The Collection Coral Gables. If that was you, I have some questions for you.... ;-)

    • @DOCRUZ85
      @DOCRUZ85 7 лет назад

      hahaha yeah thats mines... i had to fast forward to see the interior and the red center dial -- enjoy!

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Thanks, and thanks for taking such good care of the GTS for me! LOL. As for the red center dial -- sounds like it was included with the GTS interior package, but also listed as an option on the build sheet. Did you ad that, or came that way? I am considering adding Carmine red gauges from FVD to match.

    • @DOCRUZ85
      @DOCRUZ85 7 лет назад

      porsche sees all the little things like the carbon trim, alcantra trim as add ons but really its all part of the GTS package. any accessories i would use www.suncoastparts.com it will make installation a breeze and any Porsche dealer will help with install. parts/accessories etc are all way cheaper than dealer prices but its all from Porsche factory.

    I am trying to decide between the GTS and the Turbo S. The TS is just too much damned car, but ...

    • @GTSilver
      @GTSilver  7 лет назад

      Both awesome cars. I am assuming you are looking at the newer .2 versions? If that is the case for the money I would probably go with the GTS. TS is to your point almost too much car for most drivers. But I wouldn't turn down a TS if someone offered it to me! LOL

    • @SteveC-Shaman
      @SteveC-Shaman 7 лет назад +1

      I ended up with a 2017 Turbo S white on red interior. Such a great car. I thought it would be a bit more understated in white. If it is, nobody else knows it... not sure if that's good or bad but it's an attraction magnet. It's cheaper to insure than my 2014 S4 was. :/
