You guys got lots of facts wrong in this video. Queens don’t make royal jelly, workers do. In fact all larvae are started off on royal jelly only the potential queens continue to receive it. The old queen almost alway leaves before the new queen emerges. While a colony will make new queens if the queen is failing most new queens are made because the colony is strong and thriving, that’s how they reproduce. And a good queen will not stay in a hive for 2-7 years. If she has a good colony in the spring she swarms and establish a new hive and leave her royal offspring behind. Queens take 16 days to develop and worker take 21. These are basic things you need to know to manage a beehive. I appreciate your attempt here and now encourage you to start a few hives of your own and join the wonderful world of beekeeping.
I was watching a video and it ended with queen leavening and taking 1000 bees with her. I wanna know what Happens next.. so she makes new queen, leaves and goes where? Can people cultivate new hive from the old queen and her 1000 workers? Or she goes wild and makes her new hive there? How long they live after they leave? Pls tell me more about.. when the new queen is born and old queen leaves the hive what does she do and how does her life continue, and how does she die ❤
❤❤❤❤❤ you are one of the few b channels that I've ever seen this kind of close-up photography on video it is tremendous I'm not a beekeeper but I find them fascinating animals thank you so much
Bees ALSO rear new queens if they are "planning" to swarm soon. When this is the case, the queen cells are usually built near the bottom of the comb. If a queen is failing as an egg-layer, then supersedure queen cells are built, typically on the side of the comb. Queen bees require 16 days to mature as adults from their cocoons after the eggs from which they developed have been laid, while workers require 21 days and drones require 24.
Great video, but...many eggs, but only one laying per cell, in the image of the video, it is understood that several eggs are laid in the same cell... as a video of this quality can be didactic, it is important that the followers of this channel understand that a Queen will lay only one egg per cell...
I'm a beekeeper in the US. I'm wondering if they've developed ways to determine chemical damage on the queens yet? How would someone work at this? If we could understand this I think we'd be able to get colonies to live longer, survive better. Thanks for your video. nice footage also with the camera close ups.
Hello Noah Thank you for your comment. Lets hope that in the future our bees will bee free of any chemicals. We wish all the best in the season to come and may the pollen bee with you.
I am a starting keeper of the bees and the queen does not produse the royal jelly. For if she did produse it then the raising of the emergency queen in case of the absent of the original queen might be impossible!
The larvae in the queen cells are fed by the current queen? I do not think this is correct. If the queen has died or swarmed, how would the remaining colony produce a new queen?
Funny fact about word amazing. In ancient Rome word "amaze" meant a dish for drinking honey wine, mead. So if something is amazing you are a bit tipsy ;)
He says that the queen is injured or whatever and then the bees build a queen cell which an egg is then layed in,... eerrrr no.... if the queen is injured or not available to lay eggs and should the colony have eggs available to them they will then build a queen cell around that egg or eggs to create multiple queens to see who will emerge victorious to rule the colony. Where are they getting their information!!
It's educational...but...you talk so so so fast...I cant follow you young man...slow down please. Than k you. But continue thus incredible work. I love you .B❤
Hey there BB How are you doing? The reason why the voice actor had to speed up the tempo is because originally this content was created for Tik Tok and at that time there was a 60s time limitation. In the future we will take your suggestion into account and adapt the length of the videos to different platforms. Again thank you for your support and have a great day Andy
You can also select a different "playback speed" for RUclips to play the video at a slower speed, like 75% or 50% real speed. That might help you as well.
When they say how she lays lots of eggs they show cells FILLED with eggs from a laying worker. LOL!

Oh thank God I'm not crazy. I paused and rewound cuz I was like uhh...Did I just see a half dozen eggs in each cell in a video about healthy queens?

@@edinburghhoneyco. I may be wrong, but I thought that a newly emerged/mated queen (sometimes) lays multiple eggs per cell.

this comment is spot on... but you can't leave out that newly emerged queen bees will sometimes "sing" murderous little honks.

the queen bee isnt a matriarch that controls everything its the worker bees that decide whats best for the collony
Sounds like true democracy
worker bees are all female tho...

You show multiple eggs per cell in this video. This is wrong, that’s a laying worker problem, and the hive is probably doomed.

They will feed the larvae with "royal jelly" a highly sugary nutritious substance used in bee hive emergencies.
@@leandrobrava3969 right, but it’s the worker (nurse) bees who feed the larvae, not the queen.
@@TheNachoDaddy yup
@@leandrobrava3969 and the video states that the current queen produces it. wich is wrong.

Bees are honey producer
The queens can decide the genderr?? Haha
Yes. The queen will fertilise the egg for a worker bee and lay unfertilised for the drone. So yes.
I think your math is off a bit for worker and queen hatch time.

Hello
Hm! What happens if the rarest Queen Honey Bee passed away? Extinction.
Not really. As long as there are eggs in the hive the bees will make the new one.

worker bees connat lay eggs only the queen bee
not true, there are laying workers if they are not able to make a queen. However at this point the colony is doomed without intervention.
In fact one of the shots with multiple eggs in it is laying worker eggs. Queens do not do that. I have had this happen. It screws up a hive.
