Angelina often slows songs down. It gives her voice more time to work on you. It's beautiful.

She is Norwegian (she grew up there), Swedish, Iranian and Japanese and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was about 13 years old. I believe she was meant to sing to the world and all it's people.

@@dojoswitzer actually he lives in Orange County just south of LA County I was born and raised there and got to see a lot the singers and musicians from there while I lived there.
Angelina sang this in the same range and key as Elvis Presley. Elvis is classified as a baritone, and few adult women can sing in his range. Angelina, on the other hand, was just 12 years old here and probably chose this range (a) because this is basically a tribute to Elvis, and (b) because she can! Note, too, that she makes these choices. There's no coach, producer, or whatever (i.e., there is no "they" choosing how she should do it -- it's all Angelina). And as you will see, she slows the tempo of almost every cover she sings.
I have noticed that
No one tells Angelina what to sing or how to sing - with very rare exceptions Angelina chooses what songs to sing and has been writing her own vocal arrangements since she was 7-8 years old.

She is Norwegian, not a Christian singer. She does all her own arranging, been singing seriously since age 6, first time on TV age 7-8 on NGT (Norways got Talent [4 amazing performances she won the show]). She moved to the US around age 13. She has 100s of performances... She is amazing. She is also a humanatarian raised millions for charities. She performs barefoot because when age 6 traveling in the middle east she met a young homeless/shoeless girl, and gave her own boots off her own feet.

Sarge to appreciate how Angelina is singing this song she is singing it in the register that Elvis Presley sang it in. Elvis and Priscilla are two of Angelina's inspiration which is why you will see her wearing the beehive hairstyle that Priscilla Presley wore and many think she's trying to look like Amy Winehouse which is absolutely not true but it's Priscilla she's honoring and Elvis and you will see that when you get to her cover of Elvis's "Suspicious Minds ". The red guitar is the actual guitar Elvis played which is owned by Republic Records with whom Angelina is signed with. Everything Angelina does is with purpose and to honor the artist who wrote and sang the songs she Covers and Angelina always does her own renditions and arrangements for every cover she does. Just a little background for you.

Nobody chooses anything for Angelina. She makes the choices. She has arranged her own songs since she was in single digits.
Now, at 18, her label built AJ her own studio, where she has started producing her own music as well.
These are two of the most unusual songs to start listening to AJ. Wang must be the religious one to request these.
She is known by many names, but the Angel with a Thousand Voices should tell you to have patience as you heard nothing yet lol so strap in, you're going for a ride! From age 6 to 18. Over 200 songs and about the same in bts and interviews....
I have no doubt she is good, but im in 4 rabbit holes right now, I simply cannot add another one at this time, maybe in a couple weeks.

I understand what you are saying but if you knew more about Angelina you would appreciate what she has done to this song. One of her idols is Elvis and at 12 years old she chose to sing this in the same key he did. Perhaps not her best performance ever, but still remarkable for a 12 year old. By the way, nobody tells Angelina what or how to sing. She has been in control of everything since she was a baby! Check her out at 12 singing “It’s a Man’s World” or at 9 singing “I put a spell on you” both arranged by her. The professional musicians working with her affectionately call her “The Boss”.

For me, this is how to sing this Swedish hymn. Beautiful done, with so much sincerity. She is not singing to show her register - but to get the song credit
I grew up in churches where this was sung or a regular basis. That is not the normal way to sing it.

Angelina was 12. The guitarist is Ivan Mendez and the song is a Swedish hymn from the 1880s (but this is of course based on Elvis' version of it). 🙂

@@OlArmySarge Simply because she is capable of it...she is a big Elvis fan and sang it in the same key he did...a grown man. She is capable of many different voices...a prodigy. You will likely never ever see another 12 year old female capable of singing in this register...pretty sure. There is an awful lot you need to learn about this young lady...comments will help a lot.
I agree with most if not all the comments below and if you are expecting a rendition that copies the original you are not going to get it from Angelina. She stays in here own lane with respect to her favorite singers. She even does covers that to me are better then the originals. I would recommend to research her from the beginning a follow her career and time line and then you will understand why people react to her like they do, simply an amazing artist.
Yes is amazing, but that doesnt mean that everyone has to like every single song. I simply said it could have been sung in a higher key. Thats it. and then my comments section blew up with hate comments, shrug, i know I did disrespect her, and I also know that I am not required to fawn over every song even if I do not like one here or there

Oh i recognize that, my comment was that it may have been more beneficial to sing it at a higher key, but I get the wanting to stay true to the Elvis original, but she isnt Elvis either, so, i dunno

This one displays her lower register, but not really her best performance of a song. She is the one that chooses the song, and it's arrangement. She's done that from day one, and age one. At this stage, she's been singing for 11 years, and singing professionally for 5. She is currently 18, and recently did a concert in Las Vegas, two shows, both of which were amazing to witness live. Her latest songs include 'If I Were a Boy' official videos and 'Bad Valentine' which is not yet officially released.

With regards to speed - Angelina often slows down the tempo of songs in order to emphasize the lyrics and their meaning. With regards to accent - Angelina is Norwegian by nationality.

I'm assuming the person requesting these songs has a preference for Christian songs. Angelina's specity is primarily jazz. I agree with earlier comment. Not sure where you're hearing an accent. That may be the result of the tempo or exaggerated tone or just something in your head or equipment.

Yeah as I mentioned I grew up in churches, strict churches, that only allowed music from the hymnal so I have heard and sang this song many 100's of times

Many reaction channels follow that advice and I truly believe they get more subscribers since they are encouraging viewers to support the artist. I agree that her choice to follow Elvis in this arrangement of the song is not how I would have preferred her to sing it. Also I agree that she was barely able to hit the lowest notes. But she is not really performing in these home videos. She is more like experimenting. And her grandma videoed these "experiments" and shared them with the RUclips audience. So your criticism is partially valid, in my opinion. Having said that, you will need to intestinal fortitude if you are going to maintain your integrity. Some Angelina fans will brook no criticism of their darling. Don't let them bully you into giving her higher marks that you deem appropriate. Keep shooting straight. I adore her, but she makes many choices that I don't like. I'm in the minority, but there it is.
I never sacrifice my integrity, I dont care how many hate messages they send me on chat and email. Integrity is truly all we can control, and I not give mine up for some hotheaded superfans.
