That really hits me. My first dog was a dog I adopted when I lived abroad (brought her home with me when I came back home). Originally, I was going to get a cat, but I ended up getting her (she acts a lot like a kitty in a dog's body, so I guess it's close enough 😂). All I can say is, she chose me. And she's been by my side through some of the best and worst times of my life. Whenever I've had a rough day and need it most, she's right next to me for cuddles. Together, we found my second dog, who needed a lot of love (just like Little Bear) since she'd been abandoned by her original owners. With me training her (and some help/love from my first pup), second pup has really come out of her shell and shown everyone what a sweet girl she is! Sometimes, we chose our pets, sometimes they choose us, and, every so often, the universe (or fate or God, or whatever you believe in) puts the pets that we need and that need us the most in our path.
Man, I started crying when you told him "You never, ever have to worry again. I love you!" He's in the best home. Thank you for showing him safety and love.
He talks to that dog like I do my kids. I thank them for being here... Thank them for being my children daily. So I know that they love he has for that dog is immeasurable

Not all pet owners are bad. My fil (dementia) memories going rapidly not been 2 years after being diagnosed. if they got abandoned the old dog maybe the owner is older my fil young not even in his 70s. So we can never assume.

I rescued/adopted 10 cats n still have 5 but I've seen a small Siamese cat come over to eat. Maybe they couldn't afford to have it spayed so they dropped it off. I'm grateful to God I can afford to feed it and another cat that lives in my rv park.

I'm 75 and had Chow Chows my whole life. I'm raising Chow number 5. Chows are the most affectionate, intelligent and loyal dogs. So far I have raised 18 dogs. I'd like to think that I have a little bit more time left to raise #19, which will of course be a Chow Chow. Take care of that little munchkin. Chow Chows are a very special breed.

Every rescue story where I hear he's at the centre of it just warms my heart. He completely bewilders me with his dedication to and patience for these poor dogs, and he fills his pack with such genuine love and care. You know he would go to the ends of the earth for each of those dogs. If everyone were like him, I know the world would be a better place.

My dog is a rescue, he was found wandering the streets alone, hungry and scared. When I saw how sweet and loving he was, I immediately knew I needed him in my life. I just rescued a Miniature American Shepherd Dog breed from the shelter. He just csme in the night before, I was there when they opened. They had over 550 dogs in a facility that can only hold 275. They were adopting all of the animals for free. UNREAL. They had over 178 people trying to adopt him, but I was first. One of the best pups I have ever had. Love my doggie. .

I just rescued a Miniature American Shepherd
Dog breed from the shelter. He just csme in the night before, I was there when they opened. They had over 550 dogs in a facility that can only hold 275. They were adopting all of the animals for free. UNREAL. They had over 178 people trying to adopt him, but I was first. One of the best pups I have ever had. Love my doggie.

Oh little bear is so beautiful. My best friend as a kid was a blind terrier. He was born blind but he was so smart and im now 69 and still remember the years of joy he gave me. ❤
