Enjoyed this discussion. This trek through the Old Testament and Patriarch and Prophets is just showing me myself in Israel, too doubtful, too fearful. I have to learn to trust God and forget not all His benefits 🙏🏾

At baptism I naively believed the desire for certain habitual sin would vanish and I would gain victory. I was happy to be baptized but was sadly disappointed about the fleshly desires that were still alive afterwards.

Sometimes we try to do it all, when we need to learn how to rely on and trust others around us. Delegate. Let go of a little and enable others to lead, even at the smallest level. Jethro was sound counsel Moses trusted for years. A father figure. The Israelites are experiencing their first freedom since escaping the only life they knew in an abusive relationship. Are we strong enough to do this? Doubting themselves and the uncertainties experienced, " sure I was abused, but I was fed and (Egypt's ) not so bad." 40 years wandering the wilderness, for an 11 day journey?! Gas costs too much to do that. No matter that God led them the whole way, fire by nigh, cloud by day, providing manna from heaven, quail, water from rocks, protection, a promised land of milk and honey, and shoes that never wore out- they complained the whole 40 year car ride. Are we there yet? I'm hungry! Why does Moses always get to? Why can't we do it like in Egypt? When it comes to God, trust He knows a better way.
