  • GIMP Tutorial #44
    Hi Everyone, In this video I'm gonna show you How to create a Cartoon Version of Yourself or Someone using the Open Source Software called GNU Image Manipulation Program. I already posted a video about this topic.
    How to create a raster Cartoon - . • GIMP: How to create AR...
    So this video is the second method to create a Cartoon Version.
    Note:
    GIMP is the Alternative for Photoshop. Hence you can try this same method in Photoshop as well.
    Steps:
    1. Open an Image
    2. Select the Path tool
    3. Create a New Transparent Layer and Name it as Cartoon Layer
    4. Draw the Path Around the Subject
    5. Make Path into Selection
    6. Fill the Selection with Subject's Skin Tone Color
    7. Then Select the Facial Features and Shirts and Fill it with their Respective Colors using Bucket Fill Tool
    8. Move the Source Layer to the top of the Cartoon Layer
    9. Add Alpha Channel to the Source layer
    10. Make its Mode to Overlay
    11. Reduce its Opacity to 50
    12. Create a Background
    That's It. This is Cool Method to Create the Cartoonify Yourself or Someone using the Photoshop's Alternative GIMP.
    Thanks for Watching. Thumbs up, Share with your Photo Editing Freaks.

    Thanks a lot mate. Wanted to make a face collage for my girlfriend for her birthday. The first step is to get her face into a cartoonized black and white form. This might just do it.

    Dude! You're doing this the hard way! Cut out the primary person/object, put into a new layer, filters -> posterize -> play with 3-7 colours to pick one that looks right, swap the colors to your liking with the bucket fill tool, and do your cool trick with the 50% overlay layer for shadows. Done. Easy, peasy, Japaneasy.

    It would be great if someone explained what the meaning of foreground and background actually is, I can see I can change FG and BG colors and then apply them to anything, but where exactly are these foreground and background in our image, or in layers, how are they technically defined?

    Hey, your Tutorial Is Quite nice! But i have one question left... how can you select multiple Parts with your selection Tool? I‘ve tried holding shift and/or ctrl but i can’t make multiple selectations....

    • @fDFerozDaniel
      @fDFerozDaniel  4 года назад +1

      Thanks.. first you need to create Multiple paths before converting into selection. Holding Shift while clicking will create a new path

  • @DevwratVegad
    @DevwratVegad 4 года назад

    I've been trying to add a second path as you mentioned for hair. I put the outer boundary as a tough line as you said it doesn't matter for outside but inside should be proper. When I color it the whole gets colored and I can't see an overlay like you so that only subject gets hair color

    First, great video! But when I create the second path for the hair, when I dump the color, it fills the entire selection - not just the hair portion. I have gotten it to work but only on my MAC but it won't work on my PC. I am wondering if there's some sort of setting that's different? Any ideas what it could be? I am doing performing the same exact steps. Thanks!

    I like your concept... but the music is loud and distracting... and your instructions are only on the screen for a fraction of a second... so you have to keep going back a feew seconds, over and over... and coupled with the music... it gets tedious.

    I am trying this with a more complex image, and wonder what i can do for the eyes when they are closed, and what if the person is smiling? teeth and everything. I could recommend a video for people who plan on doing this on pictures with more then one person in it. each person has their own expression.
    But any tips you could give me, Would be great!

    • @fDFerozDaniel
      @fDFerozDaniel  7 лет назад +1

      You can also use pencil to draw the region and fill it with the Color. But for Teeth path tool is best. If the Subject is smiling use pencil tool to draw the Cheek Impressions
