This is the first video of the jazz to tell you to go to the left side on number 2. Thank you. I’m having trouble with my machine it wants to keep sewing even though my foot is not on the control . I’ve had my jazz for a while but I’ve just started sewing on it recently now I’ve got to take it in
Thanks for watching our video. The critical part is to get the thread under the metal plate that is held down by the two springs on the two metal posts. I hope this explains where the thread goes.
Linda I was wrong there's only a spring on one pin. Since your tension is not tight enough even at the 9 setting I suspect an internal adjustment is necessary. I had one last week that was sticking on the linkage that opens the tension discs when you raise the presser foot.
Try to replicate but keep your arm out of the way! I, like most viewers, cannot see where the thread is going, you are so concerned with making comments that the video is rendered useless to me!
I’m having trouble with the needle threader and just when I need a close-up, your hand is in the way. I’m not even sure the needle threader is working properly. It’s positioning seems to be different each time I press down on the lever. Yes, pressure is lowered as per instructions. Help.
It is easier to understand the needle threader if you have a powerful magnifying lens. It is simply a fine hook that passes through the eye of the needle. You need to catch the thread on the lower end of the hook. Then when the hook is retracted from the eye of the needle it pulls a loop of thread through the eye of the needle. You can hold the thread many different ways to accomplish catching the thread on the hook.
I have a pice of thread that is stuck in behind the lever that draws up the thread. I can grasp it, but when I try to pull it out is is stuck tight. I tried using tweezers as the rep for the machine told me on the phone, but it is still just too stuck in there. the rep then told me I should take it to a shop that services these machine. do you have any idea? I think it will have to ben tank apart ti get it out of there... Laurie T.
This requires bringing it in for service. Ignoring this can damage the machine. I usually have to take apart the linkages to remove thread around a shaft.
@@electrichospital yep. He had to take the shell off and use what looked like dental tools to wrangle the thread out of there. I hoop this doesn't happen often, or I will be so unhappy. Have you seen this happen often> And what can I do to make sure I avoid it happening again? thanks for you time and reply.
The threader has a small hook that passes through the eye of the needle. Debbie hooks the thread on the hook. Then she retracts the threader to pull a small loop of the thread through the eye of the needle.
Thank you for the video-some people commenting are very rude.

Sorry you are having problems. This is covered by your warranty.
Thank you. I thought the thread sat on top of that metal plank
Threading around the bar area, diagram shows going in front area where the two short posts are. But you put it behind the bar. Which is it?

@@electrichospital , only one of my two posts has a spring.......is that why I can't get the tension right, even on 9, for FMQ?

Perhaps a personal visit with your dealer would help.

I have watched this video 10 times & still can’t figure out where my thread goes to thread the needle

@@ltsaysso2u I have seen this on a thousand machines in 40 years. The only advice is to stop quickly if it's not sewing and use good quality thread.
@@electrichospital I use good quality thread. are you blaming the thread? Yo've seen it on other machines? I've never had it happen before....
Laurie...did it cause your bobbin thread to "bird's nest" underneath? I've had my machine 2 weeks and it's already giving me issues
Your hand is in the way of the auto threader, can't see where you put the thread

@@electrichospital i cannot find the hooks to pull thread through,, a close up magmifed picture would be better i think
Unable to see what's going on. Maybe a dark-colored thread would help and the camera shot from behind so the hands aren't covering up what's going on
Your hand is always in the way AND you go TOO FAST.
Thanks for the tip. Next video we will try to do better.
This is true!
Slow the video speed using the cog wheel on the bottom of the video frame above. You can speed up, or slow video play.
