I Forced Irrational Numbers to Compete in Mario Party Jamboree's Newest Mode
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 27 янв 2025
- You guys asked for it, so back by popular request: More "Mathematical Constants" content, and this time on the newest Mario Party game around: Super Mario Party Jamboree.
The way this whole thing works is simple: I'm giving 4 separate numbers an opportunity to compete on a run of the Koopathlon. Depending on how well each one does, they'll all be ranked up against one another. Additionally, I wanted to answer the question - Can a Mathematical Constantly ACTUALLY win a run of the Koopathlon?
Today we find out.
This content wouldn't be possible without @KNfLrPn and the SwiCC, so if you like this sort of thing make sure to check out the other cool stuff he's done.

we did do a second round that ended up not making it into this video, do you think we should release the footage somewhere? 🤔
yes.
VODS
revive raysfire plus with it
yes
Yes
I've always been a Pi truther and seeing them demolishing the competition and taking home the first place they rightfully deserve brought a tear to my eye. Not only getting 1st among the numbers but also out of everyone... that's why they're the goat!!!
yeah well lets see how well pi does when the keys are rebound differently! this is inherently biased against phi
Square root of 2 would demolish you all
I think Pi’s performance shows how luck dependent the Koopathalon mode is since if a person gets a star at the right time, they could win it all just by getting the right item no matter how good a player is. This almost forces people to bag items like in Mario Kart to get a better placement.
No, pi is just the goat
There’s no way there’s gonna be bagging in competitive koopathlon.
Can’t wait for these words to haunt me
@@PixelGamer7890 it tectically works but only if you are better than them
Fun Fact: Koopathlon is not brand new; it was introduced in Mario Party: Star Rush for the 3DS.
Finally, someone who recognizes that game's existence
That mode was also called the Coinathlon in Star rush
Yeah but nobody played that game
@@Nintenbloxguess I’m nobody
I too be a nobody, then. Was my first game.
(11:01) i know it's not the focus of the video but by god do i hate that article. in the article they said "with the amount of time in the universe and with the amount of chimpanzees on earth", but that ruins the entire point of the saying. the saying is specifically infinite monkeys with infinite typewriters and infinite time. it's meant to show that however improbable something may be, it's not always impossible. by setting a limit on monkeys and a limit on time, it undermines the complete point of even having that saying in the first place
i feel like it doesnt necessarily need both infinite monkeys and infinite time, i would assume that just having infinite of either would work as well
@@cipeman3498yeah, infinite monkeys mean every monkey has a chance to immediately start Shakespeare, that chance is done an infinite amount of times.
Infinite time means that every time a monkey types whatever the first letter of Shakespeare is, that that is a chance that the monkey has started Shakespeare from start to finish, if I worded that correctly
Also, chimps aren't monkeys.
As someone, with a diploma in Mathematics, I 100% agree with you
Absolutely insane gameplay from my boy Pi, he wasn't messing around
When I first played Koopathlon, the first question that definitely came to my mind was "which mathematical constant would win?"
I'm shook. That comeback was actually insane
17:21
Luigi: I’m so close to winning I should easily win
Yoshi: Nuh uh.
I think I got last place the one and only time I did this, so the fact that an irrational number got first place adds insult to injury.
Pi was motivated by their losses in the previous games, and came back for vengeance. I'm still an e fan for life though.
Since you can compute the last few digits of Graham's number, I wonder if you could have it as a special contestant, with its digits running in reverse.
Also, I'm wondering if there's something to be done with binary representations rather than decimal. I was thinking iterated prisoner's dilemma, but that probably wouldn't be so interesting.
Also also, I'm thinking about a June 28 special featuring τ with something circle-related. There are a lot of circles in games, really. Mario Kart... wheels... circles? Probably a stretch.
In any case, glad to see another one of these. It's a surprisingly fun concept.
Wait you can do that? How, isn’t that number incomprehensibly large? I get it’s not Rayo’s number of incomprehensible, but I’m curious how they figured that out?
@ For comparison, would you be able to tell me what the last 3 digits of a googolplex are? Of course you could, they're 000. You could never ever hope to write out every digit of a googolplex, but you can still answer my question based on knowledge of patterns in the numbers you *can* write out.
Similarly, we obviously can't envision every digit of Graham's number at once. However, we can at least conceptualize what it is and how we'd obtain it. It's basically just what happens when you toss the number 3, exponentiation, and steroids all into a magic cauldron. (I'm simplifying a bit here.) Due to this, we can simplify the problem of finding the last few digits down to computations that we can actually do, those primarily being other numbers obtained with exponents and 3's.
I hope that this slightly hand-wavy line of reasoning makes it seem less impossible that we could find the final digits of such a monstrously colossal number. If this isn't enough, I can try diving into the full details, though things might get a little complicated.
@ thank you. Yeah that makes some sense.
pi and e probably did better bc they are not only irrational, but transcendental, meaning non-algebraic, meaning they cant be the solution to an equation like "x^3-x^2-2x-3" or smth. phi is the solution to X^2-X-1=0, and sqrt(2) is the solution to X^2-2=0. but pi and e are essentially arbitrary numbers that satisfy no polynomial equation. then again im def overthinking this
Nah it's just luck TBH. You could do pure random inputs and get similar results
@@moth.monster yea that was a joke tbh

For others, it’s digital Uno: it ruins friendships
Dude I'm SO excited to see you release more Jamboree content after that banger stream
You need to add my boy Champernowne's Constant next. Nothing beats the good old 0.12345678910111213141516...
I can't believe rays didn't say "HERE COMES BOWSER!" in this video. That feels so wrong.
The sqrt(2) hate needs to stop, they can’t all be perfect😔
You should do a minor leagues episone with sqrt(3), magic angle, γ(euler-mascharoni constant) and Ω (Ω*e^Ω=1 or W(1))
Yeah
√2 got squished to death. It's gotta stop with the "Mom! I'm on TV!" trope and step up its game.
√3 would've fared better.
Love these videos! I've always been a huge math guy and seeing a concept where all these mathematical constants compete against each other always gets me super excited. Would love to see more of these (although I understand it's probably a lot of work to get set up).
Give sqrt(2) a break. It's his first time.
4:35 Damn pi is better at that game than me
Maybe √3 or √5 would do better than √2.
The wild finish by pi at the end😮
Pi really activated LeBron 2016 NBA Finals mode in this tournament, that's why Pi's the GOAT!
The editing on this video was *chef’s kiss*
Pi the absolute chad
Not only finishing, not only finishing ahead of last, but winning in FIRST PLACE
Honestly it would've been a lot more interesting to see this on a more level playing field. Pi winning the first Bowser minigame because it got the easy one completely swayed it for the rest of the game
I just started watching these and now this drops
You can technically do this again with 8 switches, 8 constants, and a whole lot of praying
Rumor has it that if someone who once almost became a US president sees your youtube video and does a little dance, then your video has been blessed and will receive a huge boost in views. For this reason, I am praying for the Al Gore Rythym 🙏
Big if true. He did invent the internet, after all.
He’s back at it again!!
How the heck did they make bowser space more terrifying
man now you just made me want a swicc
🤓Here Comes Bowser!🤓
Congratulations, Pi!
COME ON PI!
pi might be dancing in circles around them this time, but e can grow faster than all the rest of em
Damn. Pi really blew through the competition. And i thought none of them wouldnt even finish
Here Comes Bowser!
12:40 Hi, Mom! 👋🏻🙂
This is an Irrational video concept.
PHIBROS HOLD STRONG THIS IS WHERE WE WIN
golden ratio WILL get the gold medal
This video idea sounds pretty irrational
so the bowser minigames being random WAS an issue later on.
Finally, THEY RETURN
Bro, imagine playing this and losing to a essentially random input bot
Number wars🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
pi won because he got a luck based bowser minigame
The math teacher will be mad🔥🔥🔥🔥
We need to see the numbers play the actual games
Holy cow! This is why pi is the best dessert
Bro imagine losing to a mathematical constant 💀
0:37 Old SMG4 Outro background from 2015??
can we have the euler-mascheroni constant (gamma) next
irrational Number Battle on Koopathalon.
They’re Yospi, Philine, Wauler, and Toadroot. Who’s Winning this game in Check out on this Video…. or How think this name?
Justice for Tau!
this is a rough day to be a phi fan
Did random number generator appear again? I don't see him in this one
How are the digits stored? Is it a long list of numbers or is it calculated on the fly
When is the Tau v Silver ratio dropping?
Can an Irrational Number Win Longhorn Gaming's New Mode?
Wheres the music list ?
ooooh, a nontranscendental irrational number. I wonder if theres a word for "not transcendental" hmmmm
"ciscendental?"
Where are theta, psy, x, y, derivatives, degree, limit, log, i or sqrt -1, exponential at?
I honestly hope sqrt(2) comes back in a later video
Where's Ran-I mean,Jeff?!?
I can't even win if im actually trying lmao
Pi is the superior irrational number, not including the square root of 69
Bald.
Cool
Yo less than 1 hour
Do the omega constant.
Let Pi cook
VSquare root 4 to the millionth place
I asked for this in the community post! I'm winner lol 😆
Tf does this title even mean?
(Before watching the video)
PHI MY GOAT I BELIEVE IN YOU IM NOT BIASED BECAUSE WE SHARE THE SAME NAME (i am)
edit: pi watch your back.
Have the bee movie script play pokemon
i like e, for reasons unrelated to being trans
(inspired by @Monkysocks comment)
i like e, for reasons that may or may not be related to being trans.
we are not the same
Im an e fan for life.
π will win

𝝅 came first, no surprise there. He’s a veteran and he knows what he’s doing. I can’t really speak to ϕ and e, I guess sometimes you just have bad days. But let’s give some leeway to √2. First timer, unfamiliar with the game, and had a TON of pressure from fans. #1 draft picks in their rookie season almost always struggle out the gate. I support √2, and I hope we get to see more from the up and comer.
