  • After seeing 229 parked in the yard for the weekend, and knowing that 228 was shuttling, (which is rare enough as it is) I rushed over to Danbury to catch the meet during the hours of the day with the last glimpse of light. It provided an amazing December sky, and the christmas lights on the station and in the yard really made the moment special! Enjoy, and thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe as well!!

    Are Danbury branch trains always parked in the Danbury yard, when not in use?

      Every weekday, 4 trains run from Danbury to GCT and then back up again in the evening. Once they arrive Danbury, they park in the loop in order of their arrival. Then in the morning, they run back down again, and the cycle continues. On the weekend however, they stay in their spots for the duration of it and don't go back until the next weekday. This was taken on a Saturday, so these trains were there until Monday

      @@MillerRailfan Gotcha. I figured as much... I go by there all the time and I often see them parked, but wasn't sure if that was the only place they parked or if they also kept some down in Norwalk. I didn't think so, because I never saw a big yard there, but you never know.

    Are these the first Genesis locomotives to be preserved?

    • @MillerRailfan
      @MillerRailfan  Год назад +2

      They are in the yard as regular running in revenue engines, not to be placed in the museum at all, just parked before heading down for the morning rush

    Right on, one of my favorite Locomotive numbers, the 228. Now if we could get Athearn to bring them out! ,🦡
