Probably the best western ever made, with breathtaking photography and brilliant acting, they really don't make films like this anymore.
My very best western movie of all times. After SHANE I like HIGH NOON.
Please, what songs are with the harmonica?
@@hujolimo The harmonica music (it's not a "song") is TAPS. "Taps" is a bugle call sounded to signal "lights out" at the end of a military day, and during patriotic memorial ceremonies and military funerals conducted by the United States Armed Forces.
ok gracias. No hablo inglés disculpa. ¿cómo se llaman esos "taps"?@@Baskerville22
Shane and the Searchers. Best of the best.
When I saw this film, I said "What a good movie" Every chance I get I am there watching this classic.
I've always liked Ben Johnson's portrayal of the cowboy who discovers he has a conscience.
Because he had one in real life. Oscar winner in The Last Picture Show. He rewrote & removed all the four letter words on his lines.
@@lachanclaimages2810 great horseman and great actor.
Absolutely flawless film! Great cast, beautiful cinematography, solid story line. What more could you need? Iconic last words..." Goodbye, Shane! "
Such a heartbreaking scene... George Stevens was a perfectionist. Great cinematography, career defining performances from Ladd, Palance, Johnson... simple story, movingly told... Shane, come back! Come back!
This is one of my Best Westerns of all times the acting the directing the sounds of the guns in the beautiful backgrounds of Wyoming what a great movie
" never did build a room for the girls"
"I was getting around to it"
Comedy in a moment of high drama,
i wish i could go back in time when movies were classics, and see this on the big screen and see those big blue colored grand tetons in wyoming.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST ACTING PERFORMANCES IN A WESTERN OF ALL TIME ALAN LADD WAS SENSATIONAL
My momma called me shane... Shane Gulley! 😃 🤠🔫
- So was Jack Palance !
It always makes me cry.
"Don't go Shane....Mother has things for you to do....SHANE!"
Alan Ladd was magnificent and worthy of an Oscar for his amazing performace of Shane , but no Hollywood blew it !!!!
This movie was a classic
The clouds in this movie really stand out really really fitting
Perfect western #1
"So you're Jack Wilson."
"What does that mean to you, Shane?"
"I've heard about you."
"What have you heard, Shane?"
"I've heard you're a low down yankee liar."
"Prove it."
Great film heartbreaking scene, especially toris dog.
Dances With Wolves and The Searchers are wonderful Westerns but I still believe this to be the greatest Western ever made. Also the way that evil is shown to be in the ordinary, personified by the Jack Parlance character. He is the gaunt bringer of death. Even the dog senses this as it slinks away.
I am a huge fan of Edgar Buchanan and would generally enjoy his performances. I like the quiet strength of his character in this movie,
I agree that Wilson is a bad lot, though more amoral than evil. In a lawless time and place, he killed for money - but only after provoking his target into a fight. Actually, I thought "old man" Ryker wasn't evil, or even thoroughly bad. He did try to buy out the "squatters" and may even have had a case for feeling that, notwithstanding the Law, his hard-won cattle-grazing lands were being whittled away.
Classic scene from a classic movie
That's the spirit that helped make a country.
...what da ya mean ? Gunfighters made the USA ? - Hmm, the NRA thinks so !
@@HartmutJagerArt It’s about standing up for yourself. It’s about protecting family and making a future for them. The gun was and is a tool. A means to protect yourself and it is only as good as the person who uses it. Watch this picture from beginning to end and place yourself in the shoes of these farmers. Would you stand lost in apathy while everything you worked for burned? Would you allow your family to be harmed?
I invite you to consider such things before passing judgement like that.
Most westerns fall into the category of shooting and mayhem; whereas Shane had actual "acting".
Classic scene from a classic western
El mejor western de la historia!!
The best ever western
sure looks like u would imagine the old West to be like .All wearing shabby clothes.
a real treasure classic movie
OMG I LOVE THIS SCENE
اني قد شاهدت هذا الفلم في عام 1955 في مدينة حلب في سوريا احدى عشره مره ضمن اسبوع
Amazing film
I saw it in 53 when I was 12
indians felt the same way 50 years prior to this, no doubt
With all my deepest respect for Indians, they had no farms that could burn.
@@jurisprudens actually native peoples are who taught us to farm. For example they taught us to place 1 fish head under every kernal of corn planted. They didnt have "farms" mabe but they definitely did have huge gardens.... Different tribes lived different. Some didnt grow hardly anything. They lived off the buffalo and such...
@@shanescatsandcannabisfarm2965 The corn story sounds like it could be only about Mesoamerican Indians, not the North American ones.
@@jurisprudens no mayland. Or over that way... You know by Plymouth rock...
"So you're Jack Wilson..." " What's that mean to you Shane?" " I've heard about you..." " What have you heard Shane?".........you all know the rest!!
I like shane...

Justicia propia en esos tiempos. Hoy se ve también. Gracias a Dios. No es HIGUAL. PERO. Vemos en la TV. Casos paresidos. La ISTORIA se repite. Por qué . Dios sabe ?
Does anyone know what the song is called? please
Wyoming
Why is Alan so slim?was he drinking?
I heard he lost a couple of pounds due to the altitude and filming locations.after this about 1954 and on he got kind of chunkier not fat really.ladd was one of my favorite hero actors of the early and late 1940s;
- Drinking does not make one fat !
God didnt create ANYthing 😆
Good 👍
