Remarkable. What a beautifully serious song-- what gravitas in the chanteuse-- what an incomparable venue!! I presume Mme Mitchell opted-out of the proferred schoolgirl-uniformed "Another Brick In The Wall" turn, leaving that for Mme Lauper to cover (as she did so trippily well)... ; ) Cheers!
0:53 1:37 3:28 Don't mind me, just time stamping. Her vocals of this version make me feel I'm listening to a mother mourning, crying, talking to her kids about how and why dad didn't come home. These emotions are also what i would imagine I'll feel and hear after the smoke has cleared and the dust settle, and the destruction of the earth reveals its self.
We have been warned, with every sounding of this song, but it is still being ignored. I can only hazard a guess that the warning is not reaching those whose war-mongering noise overpowers the ominous message that is being sent.
Thats a fake. That is not the original recording. At the live show, there were some P.A. problems with monitoring and playback of additional sound tracks. And Joni made a mistake while singing the song. Beautiful anyway. But I guess Roger was so pissed of the problems he recorded parts of the show afterwards again, even with other musicians instead of the original ones, maybe because of scedule problems. So, nice to watch, but not what was really happing out there in 1990...
This is horrible. I love early Joni Mitchell, but she ruined her voice with too many cigarettes. Someone should have told her to retire 30 years ago. If this was an unknown, they never would have let her sing.
One of the saddest songs in rock and roll history with the best rendition that one could ever imagined
CHILLS EVERYWHERE. The best cover.
FULL Body CHILLS
Her Voice is Cosmic!
Great interpretation by Joni. Awesome atmosphere!!
I was there. Great to see footage of this now appearing in H.D.
spongebobbignob For real? You are soooo lucky! What was it like to be in the middle of that?
Surreal i guess now - looking back at it

SUPERB MULTUMIRI
I agree with DonFuego, i remember the live aired by the national TV and Joni's mistake was evident !
lest we forget James Galway - a bloody good flautist
Cem Karaca yi nasil dinliyorsam pink Floyd da dinliyorum
Baxter is the world’s greatest flautist.

They used rehearsal audio they recorded just in case. Did the same with Sinead, because the sound failed
The days of free speech!
She’s not even singing in tune during the verses
Ogni tanto tacere...
I love PF, but that woman ruined this song
Definitely no depth of bass ominously etc
god damn...
this is utterly terrible!
She ruined it
Mi sa che non hai buone orecchie...
