I have a question, if the account manager is the person to deal with the client in order to understand their business and bring the insight to project manager then why a project manager need to communicate with the client?

I think a project manager is like an internal “Account manager” but they may manage a certain product line. So the customer could buy 3 different products from a company thru the account manager. And then you have a project manager for each of those product lines. So each project manager is better suited to answer questions against the product they manage.
Customer don’t want to be asking different people, different questions.
